Hotel 81 El Reno

I thought the front desk employee was very accommodating. Thechoel is definitely a older one, but had no issue with cleanliness. Also there were many security cameras which added extra safety.

Repairs to the room I stayed in are not completed. The Front Door had gaps and the Dead Bolt did not work.

Granted, this was a roadside trucker hotel, so the low cost should already be the red flag that you are getting what you pay for and normally, we do not mind that,, but we do at least expect cleaner and more well-kept areas. The motel was close enough to highway to hear the traffic all night, The lobby was being used as a makeshift storage area. Looks like at one time it was set up for continental breakfast, but no more. The front desk clerk was kind and quick but the smell of curry was wafting through the lobby. Now I love curry, and was hoping they would share, but I imagine that smell may have been off-putting for others. The rooms were dressed to look ok, but underneath, there was lots of improvements needed. including a freezer that needed defrosting and a bathroom that needed roof repairs. Was disappointed and would not stay there again.

It was not bad they where in the middle of remodeling. So there was a lot of nosie. Would stay again.

The staff were great. Room was clean. It seems they are trying to make this place appealing. I would stay there again. It looks like they are remodeling which is great - el Reno needs the convenient option to stay.

I would choose to sleep in my car before paying for a room in this establishment. The room had ripped up clothing left or they were cleaning rags. They were left under the desk. The corner of the room had mildew and mold. I have pictures for anyone to see. I will be calling the health department and sending them the pictures. There was also a burn mark from a hot plate in the carpet.

This place should be condemned. There is no way it has such a high user rating here. It’s a total dump. There were 2 dead cockroaches in the room, the bedspreads had dark stains on them, the bathroom was disgusting and in total disrepair. And to top it all off, the lightbulbs in the lamps were harsh white fluorescents, like in a dentist’s office. Felt like a bad horror movie. We didn’t even unpack our bags. Just made a reservation at the nearby Hampton Inn and left this dump less than 30 mins after check in. I would have asked for a refund, but unfortunately Expedia doesn’t give refunds same day as check in. It was worth it to me to pay for TWO hotel rooms to not spend another minute in this place. Hotel 81 El Reno is disgusting.

The room smelled bad, holes in the walls and the ceiling was coming down in some parts, large crickets were everywhere, including in the room Not a pleasant experience.

How is this place rated “Very Good”? It’s a dump. Mold all over the bathroom from the ceiling to the floor. Stains on the carpet, furniture, and linens. One of the worst places I’ve ever stayed and I stay in over 200 hotels a year.

Mildew and mold smells from AC and bathroom were bad in room 209. I left the AC turned off so it wouldn’t make it worse, but had to leave after a few hours and find a different hotel. Otherwise the room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Not everyone is sensitive to this so I still gave it a 3.

The room was falling apart. The bathroom ceiling was coming down. Yhe furniture looked like it was pulled out of a dumpster. I didnt stay i paid for another hotel.

I am traveling alone a few thousand miles to see family. Also medical reasons. The man working at the front desk was very nice, my sink water would not turn on upon checking in. He was quick to fix that. This morning when I go to take a shower the day I’m going to drive 10 hours and finally see family, the shower will not turn on. There is no hot water in the sink either. I cannot get through to anyone. I unfortunately have to go unshowered.

But I wasn't expecting much with the low price. I booked it for the convenient location to the venue I was going to. It served it's purpose.

Great place to stay if you want a clean comfortable room. It does get a little noisy outside at times but overall not bad. It’s close to restaurants and shopping.

Our room was clean, had a mini fridge and microwave, the only complaint I have is the bathroom was very small, other than that the room was great for the price

My stay was amazing. Have been here for the past month for work. Room is always clean. The staff is very nice. Jay at front desk is excellent and extremely helpful and courteous. A quiet place and am able to get rested for work. I would recommend this place if you're traveling and need a place to stop for a day or two to rest. Excellent location right off I-40.
