Nice location. Unique checkin on the second floor. Would make another reservation if required.

Value was good, with breakfast included. Great for short stays. Only thing I didn’t like was that the gym was small with minimal facilities for a hotel of this kind. Everything else was great. Would stay again.

Je recommande vivement cet hôtel, si je retourne à Auckland c'est là que je retournerai passer mes nuits ! Je le recommande ss hésiter cs nexserez pas déçus !

We had a comfortable room, facilities were good - especially self-service laundry. We weren’t expecting breakfast to be included, which was a bonus, but the availability of vegan options was very limited. Some items were labelled (eg bread) but there was no vegan spread. When we asked staff for more details, they didn’t know what was and what was not vegan - some items appeared to be suitable, but the staff didn’t seem to know or were unwilling to help.

Nice property and centrally located. Issues with parking. Cheaper to just pay Wilson parking structure for the daily rate than paying the hotel itself. Staff unsure how it all worked. So if you stay just pay at the Wilson pay stand and not through Holiday Inn

The property was central to the shops. The only issue was the elevators, when one was down, it took a while to get into another as there were tons of ppl waiting. It would have been nice to use the stairs to get to Ground level from 2 if possible as there were a lot of ppl that wanted to do that.

Staff were very lovely- supported our every need. However parking was very expensive and definitely not the cheapest rate nearby.

The hotel was pretty good but the elevators could be a nightmare. The doors closed very quickly, sometimes leaving people behind or hit by the door. Even when the elevators were really busy, they wouldn’t let guests use the stairs. “Only in a fire” is what I eas told

I like the location of the hotel I was disappointed that there is no connecting way going to parking and the hotel.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn City Hotel in Auckland, and while there were some positive aspects, there were also several disappointments that affected my overall experience. First, the room was clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus. However, there was an unpleasant smell in the shower that detracted from the comfort of the stay. It would be great if the hotel could address this issue to enhance the experience for future guests. The food at the hotel was tasty, but I was surprised to find that there were no options available on the kid’s menu. When we ordered food for our children, we were charged the standard adult portion. If I hadn’t noticed this on the bill, it would have gone unaddressed, which is not ideal for families traveling with kids. Additionally, several drinks from the menu were unavailable. This led to the inconvenience of having to upgrade to a bottle and mix it ourselves, which was not the experience we anticipated. Breakfast was another letdown. The selection was limited, and the quality did not meet expectations. It felt quite poor and lacking in flavor, which was disappointing given the importance of a good start to the day. In summary, while the cleanliness of the room was commendable, the issues with the shower smell, lack of a kid’s menu, unavailable drinks, and unsatisfactory breakfast left much to be desired. I hope the hotel can improve on these areas for a more enjoyable stay.

The shower drain was flooded, took several minutes for the water to go down as it was pooling on one side and comes out of the shower. The corner of the shower was dirty - a spray of bleach can help. The sink was so dirty too. But the bed was comfortable and staff were nice.

Room was clean, whole hotel was clean. Breakfast was really good. Front desk reception were extremely nice. Right in the middle of city centre, great location. I was able to walk to the shops amd restaurants i wanted to venture to. Loved it.

Very clean hotel

We loved our stay at Holiday Inn. It's a new hotel so everything is bright, clean and modern. The room had an amazing Sky Tower view, comfortable beds and while it's a small room, the use of space was cleverly done. Every staff member we met was friendly and welcoming. The buffet breakfast included with our room rate had so many delicious options. Short walk to Commercial Bay for shopping and dining. Highly recommend this hotel!

Good size room, clean. Staff at Reception are so friendly and polite and helpful. Cleaning team is excellent.

Clean and bright rooms, convenient location, included breakfast and a good price made this a great choice for staying in downtown Auckland.

• The room’s cleanliness is kindly described as appalling. • While the linen and beds were prepared nicely and clean, the carpet, tiles at entry and bathroom were disgraceful. • Cleary the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed or the floor, and the tiles area as you walk in, and bathroom had not been cleaned or mopped. • There was hair all over the floor. • As you can appreciate when you are paying over $600.00 a night your expectation is that the room is clean. • The team member we check in with was quick to tell us about the fact the hotel in less than two years old.

Everything was great. However last two days no one showed up for daily cleaning. I did not care or call reception but was puzzled

Location walkable to everything in city. Safe . Quiet. Breakfast in price of room. Bacon barely cooked. But could ask for crispy bacon which came out cold. But overall would stay again. Helpful staff. Maintenance man very helpful when we couldn't open our luggage lock. Quick taxi service when departing. Bed comfy. AC working. Room compact but enough to sleep room for 2 to move around. Bathroom walls are glass so if u happy to be watched showering its the place to go.

The room with view of harbour was fantastic, the black out blinds great, the whole room was awesome, definitely recommend this place

Nice view of the Auckland Sky Tower from our room. The mattress was rather soft and lumpy. The small refrigerator really did not chill things much. The staff was nice, and the breakfast was a nice addition.

Location, huge room

Great location. We had top floor (19th) with a view of the bay. Nice breakfast in the morning ( included for ALL guests). I', not sure why we paid an "up-charge" to include breakfast? For some reason, our room had numerous moths (more than ten), and we were constantly getting out of bed to swat them. We were offered an early arrival room upon check in. nice touch!

Clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. However, I didn't like the loud rattling noise after flushing my toilet, or when the rooms near mine flushed their toilets.

The room was spacious enough and clean, the staff friendly, but the TV a joke, tiny, no smart TV therefor no internet connection for Netflix or similar, not even the option to connect ear plugs so one could watch a film meanwhile the partner could sleep

The only reason I rated four stars was the bathroom setup. The glass enclosure offered minimal privacy and lacked soundproofing.

We had a double queen room and other then it being VERY small it was beautiful and the view of the city was fabulous

The shower leaks. We had to use two towels at the door to keep water out of entry and bath sink area. When the toilet flushed, at the end of its refilling cycle there is a loud thumping sound in the wall. Otherwise we were comfortable in the room for the five days we were there. Found location very convenient for all kinds of shopping.

Not enough staff working at the front desk where it is also the place to buy drinks. As a result, long wait is expected. Bathroom lights went out in the middle of the night. Front desk was informed in the morning. We checked out at 10am, lights were me fixed.

The staff was very accommodating, friendly and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, comfortable and valued. The breakfast food was delicious, plenty and diverse. All in one we had excellent service and will definitely stay here again. The location of this hotel is fantastic. You can walk mostly everywhere. It’s also in very close proximity to the bus station, ferry station and the shops. Thank you Holiday Inn Staff for a great stay!

Great experience here in Auckland and also in our last stay in Queenstown. Very friendly staff let us leave out bags after checkout so we could go explore the city a bit more.

We were told to request a taxi service in the morning (4am for 4:15 pickup). When someone went down, they wouldn't call for the taxi until all 6 of us were downstairs and we hadn't planned that way. It was very inconvenient!

Check-in was fast and friendly. We arrived at 9AM and our room was ready.

Check in was great and we requested an early check in which they gave us! It was appreciated as I was not feeling well. We also requested a late check out as our flight was not until 8:30 pm. Stephan at the front desk was very friendly and very helpful. He helped arrange an airport pick up and provided extra coffee and cream for our room. We appreciated the breakfast and fresh fruit at the buffet. The baked goods were excellent. We would stay again!

We arrived early in the day and appreciated the baggage hold so that we could explore the city. Comfy beds and lovely hotel overall

Enjoyed the accommodation but found the service when booking in was rude and abrupt, I did not feel welcomed. Basically everything was just too hard what how I felt when checking in. Information listed on the website about parking was incorrect and caused issues for journey as well as information about getting taxi at 4am etc again we were given incorrect information with not a lot of options at 4am in the morning to get to an international flight.

Sorry to leave a bad review, but my check in experience was the worse I ever experienced in any hotel , 3pm was my check in time , I arrived at reception at 3.30 and told please wait 5 minutes room is not ready , my family and I waited and after 15 minutes I joined the long queue line , reception staff could see me but didn’t bother to let me know but for me to be processed after everyone in front of me , when I got in front at 3.50 , they say the same thing, room will be ready in 5 minutes. We waited for another 10 minutes, then I see no line at counter so I went to ask again and they say oh yes room is ready now . Come on - at least communicate better with your customers, you could have informed me at 5 minute intervals that more delays were expected, offer a cup of tea or drink when guest are waiting because of delays . Delays happen due to housekeeping taking more time. Unfortunately that experience just over shadowed everything else .

They went the extra mile to get me into my room early when I arrived early in the morning after a long flight!

I loved my stay here. I was on a solo trip and wanted to budget certain portions so my hotel was part of it during my stay in Auckland. I felt safe, taken care of by staff, and breakfast was quite good! You are close to everything downtown and can walk as well which is also great for solo travel.

Super clean rooms, quiet, and easy check-in. Huge plus was it was walking distance to shops, water front, bus stop, and dining.The staff was so friendly. We loved the reception area and ordered a pizza and beer to relax one afternoon. The free breakfast was wonderful with lots to choose from. If you left hungry that's on you! Overall great experience and would stay again!

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel staff was friendly and communicated clearly and quickly about roadworks around the hotel. They answered my questions promptly before we arrived regarding parking. It’s a great location, near to shopping and food.

Great stay for 3 days. Staff extremely pleasant, nice and accommodating. Located within Auckland Central Business District. Easy walking to major attractions within downtown Auckland. Extra bonus and accolades to front reception desk staff. Our flight from Canada arrived at 05:15 Auckland time. Arrived to hotel thinking we would have to wait to check in around 15:00, staff worked their magic and found a room to check in immediately (hotel was fully booked) which was quiet, away from crowds, elevators. We were sleeping soundly and recovering from Jet Lag by 7:00. Thank you Holiday Day Inn.

Breakfast was fresh but would be better if they have two different sausages instead of 2 pork choice. One beef, one pork would be better

Excellent clean place with a great view. Omg, the breakfast was so good. You could have a big breakfast with as much streaky bacon as you wanted! There's museli, pastries, donuts, loads of fruit, tea coffee, juices, hot choc, even a pancake making machine. It's epic!!! I also loved how happy everyone in the dining area looked as they ate there breakfast. The breakfast runs until 10am weekdays and 10:30 in the weekend. I ended up taking away a huge bacon and hashbrown sambo for more snacking during the day, 2 days in a row.

The Holiday Inn Express is in a good location. It is within walking distance to the Sky Tower and the wharf. Queen Street is just down the street. There are many restaurants nearby. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast options were good with the exception of the runny eggs. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

Wonderful hotel with updated facilities. Fantastic breakfast, which is included in the cost of the room. Fantastic staff who are very accommodating. Overall, I would highly recommend!

Staff was friendly enough. It would've been better if there's veggies available in breakfast but otherwise I was very satisfied with the stay.
