This was my family's first trip to Mexico and we didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and though we were too early for check in they got one of our rooms ready for us immediately and gave us our wrist bands to enjoy the bar while we waited for the other. While the property is old and a tad dated, it was clean and well maintained. The beach is fantastic with lots of loungers and nice sand. The food was great! Each day breakfast, lunch and dinner had different options and there was always something one of the pickier eaters in our group found they really liked. The staff was the highlight of the experience, everyone from roomkeepers, bartenders and even the security guards were friendly and very patient even with my very limited Spanish (most of the staff spoke better english than I do spanish) Guadalupe in particular made our time at the buffet so good. He immediately took to doting on my family each time we arrived for a meal, making sure we had everything we needed, including making sure my tequila never ran dry. At the end of the trip, him and I parted with a handshake and a hug and that alone was enough to make me want to come back to Maya Caribe. Tip the staff, get your expectations in check that this isn't a 5 star resort but an incredibly cozy and authentic feeling gem and you'll have a great time.

La playa es increíble, las piscinas están muy bien, los servicios de alimentos también son buenos tanto los snacks como los restaurantes, los bares de alberca y playa también ofrecen buenas opciones y el personal en general es muy amable. Por el precio, nos la pasamos muy bien, ya van cinco veces que voy y cada vez es mejor que la anterior.

Had terrible stay for a night last week. Got my wrist fractured due to broken stairs to beach. Our room 103 was infested with some rodent that ate the bread we had bought. The AC remote didn’t work and had to walk all the way to lobby to report the issue. The room phones don’t work. Other than the location there is nothing positive to write about from my trip.

Es un excelente lugar en relación calidad precio. El buffet es variado y la comida buena, la atención del personal es lo mejor, son muy atentos. Hay todos los servicios, la playa es hermosa, piscinas y el bar sirve bebidas buenas así como snacks. Tuvimos el mejor año nuevo con una fiesta hermosa y parrillada argentina, se esmeran porque el huésped se sienta bien. El parque acuático es una actividad muy divertida en familia. Lo único que no me gustó fue el aseo en las duchas, podría mejorar bastante ese aspecto.

Our stay was nice. The room was fine but the bathroom could use a facelift, it’s been awhile. The view was wonderful from our room. I do recommend an ocean view room if you can because the breeze is amazing.The beach was nice and there was shade in the afternoon from the buildings and trees. The food was good and of course the drinks were wonderful. The property was clean and the staff were very nice. It was a little noisy at times from the ferry and catamaran trips from the adjoining property but not enough to ruin your day. I would definitely book again as the value was worth it.

Air conditioning was horrible I was sweating all night even after having it on high, it was warm air. rooms have a humid/moldy smell. I was showering and there was small insects crawling on the shampoo bottle and on the walls. Save your money!

The pictures are NOT AT ALL what the room looks like. Our first night there we were put into a room with no running water, bugs everywhere, i was livid and extremely upset being in a foreign country away from home in a room that clearly did not match the pictures. It took 4 hours of me complaining to expedia and to the hotel to get moved to a room with liveable conditions. They also conveniently lost our reservation stating it was an all inclusive stay so we had to shell out an EXTRA 640 usd to gain access to the food and drinks we already paid for. The resort has nothing really to do besides drink and eat. You're kind of just shoved in a corner of the hotel zone. If we come back to cancun, we will be looking else where to stay. Aside from this, i will say the kitchen staff were extremely polite and gracious people. I appreciated their service. Which is why i gave it an extra star. Overall if you book this place prepare to be disappointed, ive stayed at less than ideal properties before many times. This was the grossest. The amount we ended up spending on buying the all inclusive option AGAIN. We could have gotten a nicer, more comfortable stay at another resort.

Totalmente desagradable, no es lo que se ve en las fotos, el hotel es súper viejo tiene las paredes rajadas, las puertas rotas, las piscinas con moho , cuando entré a mi habitación salieron 3 cucarachas grandes y lo peor apestaba a orine y cuando mi hija se quiso hechar a descansar la cama apestaba a pis, cuando bajamos a recepción a conversar con la supuesta gerenta se puso toda grosera y daba a entender que nosotros estábamos mintiendiendo, por evitar pasar un mal rato con nuestros hijos ya no le dijimos nada más, y aceptamos la otra habitación pero no recomendaría a nadie si pudiera ponerle menos 1 estrella lo haría, una decepción total 👎

This property needs a total renovation. The rooms have no solid door and has a gap between the walls so you can see out the halls and so noisy that no one can sleep. No shower curtains or toilets working properly at all.

Our room smelled of mold and mildew back of the bathroom door was covered in mold toilet didnt flush properly curtains in room were stained. We had a gecko in our room at least two nights that we saw an empty housekeeping cart sat outside our room for our entire stay rooms were very poorly maintained but hospitality was great

The rooms smelled of mildew. The peacocks make noises all night in the hallways. The staff was very friendly especially Guadeloupe. He was very attentive . The pools were clean. I did yoga, it was nice but had a lot of ants that kept crawling on the mat. Played pool volleyball, I enjoyed that. I’m pescatarian the first two day there was plenty to eat off of the buffet. The last three days were disappointing because they served the same dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I didn’t have many options to choose from. We tried to eat as soon as they opened up because flies were all over the food. They offer a pizza restaurant, I didn’t care for the pizza. The sushi restaurant I tried it once, they also have a restaurant with hotdogs and hamburgers, also nachos. I ate the nachos once. If you’re vegetarian or pescatarian you may not have many good choices when it comes to food. I did like the mashed potatoes and cilantro rice also the hashbrowns but the served all three only one time during our five day stay. I did like the fact that it’s a beachfront resort.

I stayed in B10. That room is highly neglected and should not be used for housing. The bathrooom sink faucet is delapitated and unhinged and the water leaks. The towels must be over 10 years old. The worst part are the peacocks that are housed right out the front door. They gackle at all hours of the night. I asked the front desk to be moved after one night. I was given room 3003. It was literally like staying at a different hotel. Night and Day.

A few of the staff members were rude no one was ever available when you needed pool towels. The view of our room was amazing but our bathroom was leaking water from the roof in multiple spots. And they only replaced 2 towels during room service

Las habitaciones están regular porque la propiedad es antigua,los colchones no muy confortables pero se compensa con la playa aunque es pequeña, es espectacular, la comida de buen sazón y muy variada, lo mejor su personal, atentos y cálidos.

Maya Caribe is a Dos Playas Hotel; I don’t know why it’s called as a separate hotel it is basically one building from four. ( 3 named as Dos Playas and one Maya Caribe) one reception and all amenities for both. Overall it is solid 3 star hotel. So if you choose btw two hotels there is no difference except the price and Maya building has renovated rooms and not renovated. What I liked is that there are Sushi all day from 12 - 6 pm; pizza and hot dogs/hamburgers and drinks all day. Lunch and Dinner I would say solid 3.7-4 star. Good staff which can help with any needs ( just don’t forget tips if you liked the service). We had AC broken so they fixed it quick without any problems or delays. There are bus station on the left R-1 which can deliver you to the city center just for 12 Mexican pesos (0.5USD) When you go to the airport you can order Uber right to the hotel for around 30 USD. Overall it’s good 3 star hotel for good price. All the Best!

We were there for a week in October and found the hotel charming. There are some quirks (air conditioning was not great but was sufficiently ok & some areas need a facet). With that said, what really made it for us was the staff was just so kind and amazing! This resort is not super fancy but it did meet all of our needs. It was quiet and quaint and no extensive lines or waiting. If you want really fancy or a big party atmosphere, this likely is not the place for you. The breakfast buffet was not expansive but met our needs. Though we didn’t eat much lunch, my husband liked the sushi rolls the coupe times he got them. Mexican fiesta night food was delicious. Highly suggest the Dos Playas drink.

With that said, what really made it for us was the staff was just so kind and amazing! This resort is not super fancy but it did meet all of our needs. It was quiet and quaint and no extensive lines or waiting. If you want really fancy or a big party atmosphere, this likely is not the place for you. The breakfast buffet was not expansive but met our needs. Though we didn’t eat much lunch, my husband liked the sushi rolls the coupe times he got them. Mexican fiesta night food was delicious. Highly suggest the Dos Playas drink.

The ocean is wonderful the beach could probably have had a little bit of cleaning as far as removing some of the seaweed but it didn't bother us. The view of the ocean however and the hammock right on the balcony with the view of the ocean more than made up for it. I'm not sure that will revisit Cancun it was fairly crowded a little more expensive than we thought, but if we did I think we might well stay the same Hotel as those flyers by Fernando was an expensive Choice with the ferry going to East Lila's it's right next to us. Food is great service is great Hotel was average but no real complaints.

Si tienes oportunidad de invertir un poco más en otro hotel sin duda hazlo, bien dicen que "lo barato sale caro" & aquí no fue la excepción. Desde que hice mi check in el personal de recepción apático, solo puedo rescatar al bellboy nuevo & al personal de la tarde del restaurante "cielito lindo" de ahí en fuera todo el personal es super apático & grosero, solo le dan preferencial a los extranjeros, a ti como nacional te ignoran & hasta te hacen unas caras pesadisimas si solicitas algo, yo también trabajo en la industria & jamás pensé en pasar por una estancia tan desagradable. También deben de especificar que ahora aparece el hotel como "dos playas" ya que para llegar buscas el mismo nombre que aparece en la página & en sus instalaciones tiene otro nombre. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.

This was my family's first trip to Mexico and we didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and though we were too early for check in they got one of our rooms ready for us immediately and gave us our wrist bands to enjoy the bar while we waited for the other. While the property is old and a tad dated, it was clean and well maintained. The beach is fantastic with lots of loungers and nice sand. The food was great! Each day breakfast, lunch and dinner had different options and there was always something one of the pickier eaters in our group found they really liked. The staff was the highlight of the experience, everyone from roomkeepers, bartenders and even the security guards were friendly and very patient even with my very limited Spanish (most of the staff spoke better english than I do spanish) Guadalupe in particular made our time at the buffet so good. He immediately took to doting on my family each time we arrived for a meal, making sure we had everything we needed, including making sure my tequila never ran dry. At the end of the trip, him and I parted with a handshake and a hug and that alone was enough to make me want to come back to Maya Caribe. Tip the staff, get your expectations in check that this isn't a 5 star resort but an incredibly cozy and authentic feeling gem and you'll have a great time.

The pictures are NOT AT ALL what the room looks like. Our first night there we were put into a room with no running water, bugs everywhere, i was livid and extremely upset being in a foreign country away from home in a room that clearly did not match the pictures. It took 4 hours of me complaining to expedia and to the hotel to get moved to a room with liveable conditions. They also conveniently lost our reservation stating it was an all inclusive stay so we had to shell out an EXTRA 640 usd to gain access to the food and drinks we already paid for. The resort has nothing really to do besides drink and eat. You're kind of just shoved in a corner of the hotel zone. If we come back to cancun, we will be looking else where to stay. Aside from this, i will say the kitchen staff were extremely polite and gracious people. I appreciated their service. Which is why i gave it an extra star. Overall if you book this place prepare to be disappointed, ive stayed at less than ideal properties before many times. This was the grossest. The amount we ended up spending on buying the all inclusive option AGAIN. We could have gotten a nicer, more comfortable stay at another resort.

A few of the staff members were rude no one was ever available when you needed pool towels. The view of our room was amazing but our bathroom was leaking water from the roof in multiple spots. And they only replaced 2 towels during room service

Big mistake staying here. I don’t recommend staying here. Staff will ask for your plate to serve again or cup to refill your bar drink. Staff is very rude and you’re limited to 2 drinks at the bar. You will be better off paying a couple bucks more and staying at a more decent hotel. Their entertainment was a pervert guy next to the tool checking out girls/women and making perverted remarks. The food does not have any flavor and nothing seemed fresh. The bar tender doesn’t not know how to make drinks. He had to constantly check his phone to see how it’s make when a drink was ordered. Room was very dirty and old. I got bitten by bed bugs. Again do yourself a favor and avoid this place!!!

Staff told me I could get early check in. Arrived at 11am and didn't get a room until AFTER 4pm (3 is actual check in) buffet food was TERRIBLE every meal, staff was extremely rude at the front desk, hotel worker opened my room door TWICE without even knocking and brought 2 men in to work on the balcony while my 16 year old daughter was alone and sleeping. Upon check out the front desk lady literally SCREAMED at me because we had taken our bracelets off and left them in the room. I can't stress how hungry my kids and I were. The food was NOT edible!

Se volete un hotel che si differenzia dai mega hotel che ci sono a Cancun questo hotel messicano fa al caso vostro. Posizione perfetta. Proprio sulla playa Tortugas e a due passi per i traghetti per Isla Mujeres. Inoltre gli autobus per il centro passano dal viale davanti all'hotel e passano ogni 5 minuti, il biglietto costa 12 pesos o 1 dollaro a tratta e si paga al conducente, quindi consiglio di procurarsi pesos perche' costa meno. Ci sono 2 ristoranti fra cui scegliere e si mangia benissimo in entrambi. Menu vario con proposte internazionali che variano tutti i giorni. Bellissima la festa messicana il giovedi sera assolutamente da non perdere con allestimento nel giardino dell'hotel con chioschi di piatti tipici messicani e spettacolo di ballo e canto veramente super. Inotre abbiamo avuto un piccolo problema con la camera e la manager non ha esitato a fornirci un'altra camera.

The small size of the hotel was a big plus for us. We had a ground floor room with a patio overlooking the ocean. We could easily walk to food/drinks in the hotel as well as public transportation and ferry to the island.

Great experience! If you're planning a trip to Cancun and looking for a budget-friendly, all-inclusive hotel with a private beach in the Hotel Zone, this is probably your best choice (at least in our opinion). The staff is excellent, there are plenty of food options, and the property is well-maintained and clean, creating a positive atmosphere throughout our stay. The only thing that might stand out is that the rooms could use an upgrade, but aside from that, everything else about this property is fantastic. I wanted to acknowledge all the staff members we interacted with during our stay. Since I can't remember every name, I don't want to unintentionally overlook anyone, so I’ve chosen not to list any names. However, I truly believe that, aside from the location and views, the staff is the biggest highlight of this property.

The rooms smelled of mildew. The peacocks make noises all night in the hallways. The staff was very friendly especially Guadeloupe. He was very attentive . The pools were clean. I did yoga, it was nice but had a lot of ants that kept crawling on the mat. Played pool volleyball, I enjoyed that. I’m pescatarian the first two day there was plenty to eat off of the buffet. The last three days were disappointing because they served the same dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I didn’t have many options to choose from. We tried to eat as soon as they opened up because flies were all over the food. They offer a pizza restaurant, I didn’t care for the pizza. The sushi restaurant I tried it once, they also have a restaurant with hotdogs and hamburgers, also nachos. I ate the nachos once. If you’re vegetarian or pescatarian you may not have many good choices when it comes to food. I did like the mashed potatoes and cilantro rice also the hashbrowns but the served all three only one time during our five day stay. I did like the fact that it’s a beachfront resort.

It was a beautiful property but because it is an older resort, the towels,where’s,pillows etc were as old! The loungers had really old cushions on them and also not enough for all to enjoy. Big mistake staying here. I don’t recommend staying here. Staff will ask for your plate to serve again or cup to refill your bar drink. Staff is very rude and you’re limited to 2 drinks at the bar. You will be better off paying a couple bucks more and staying at a more decent hotel. Their entertainment was a pervert guy next to the tool checking out girls/women and making perverted remarks. The food does not have any flavor and nothing seemed fresh. The bar tender doesn’t not know how to make drinks. He had to constantly check his phone to see how it’s make when a drink was ordered. Room was very dirty and old. I got bitten by bed bugs. Again do yourself a favor and avoid this place!!!

Es un excelente lugar en relación calidad precio. El buffet es variado y la comida buena, la atención del personal es lo mejor, son muy atentos. Hay todos los servicios, la playa es hermosa, piscinas y el bar sirve bebidas buenas así como snacks. Tuvimos el mejor año nuevo con una fiesta hermosa y parrillada argentina, se esmeran porque el huésped se sienta bien. El parque acuático es una actividad muy divertida en familia. Lo único que no me gustó fue el aseo en las duchas, podría mejorar bastante ese aspecto.

The area by the water was beautiful, definitely a smaller resort which was nice! Rooms were ok definitely needing renovations especially the washrooms. Room service was inconsistent regarding filling supplies the soap toilet paper etc. also inconsistent on times when room service comes. Food and drinks were great options for local food and American food which was liked

Staff told me I could get early check in. Arrived at 11am and didn't get a room until AFTER 4pm (3 is actual check in) buffet food was TERRIBLE every meal, staff was extremely rude at the front desk, hotel worker opened my room door TWICE without even knocking and brought 2 men in to work on the balcony while my 16 year old daughter was alone and sleeping. Upon check out the front desk lady literally SCREAMED at me because we had taken our bracelets off and left them in the room. I can't stress how hungry my kids and I were. The food was NOT edible!

They offer a free water park but the hotel staff never new if it would be open as it was beautiful 5 out of 6 days we were there only the last day was raining and the water park NEVER opened.

En general todo esta excelente, comida, bebidas, espacio de descanso, diversión etc. El único problema, no de las instalaciones, el servicio de taxis, muy caro, no te quieren llevar al hotel o al aerepuerto, es muy desgasrante esta situación.
