We had more than one issue finding someone else’s fecal matter in our bathroom. Told desk staff, they sent someone to clean, contacted Expedia and asked if I should talk to Expedia about my issues or the hotel. They said them. They responded saying best western refused to do anything for me because “it wasn’t reported to the desk”, which it most definitely was. Super frustrated with this issue and will make sure anyone who is visiting our family in Smith’s Falls goes elsewhere. The pool liner was dirty and had a foot long section coming apart from the wall. Cigarette butts floating in pool. Staff was friendly

Positive: Staff were wonderful at front desk, breakfast room staff was amazing, housekeeping was good. Breakfast was great, especially strawberry preserves for waffles. Improvements needed: Room with two beds had two doubles, not two queens so was close quarters. Pool was not in service so was disappointing as that was one of the reasons we chose this hotel.

Didn’t like the fact that I was on the second floor and no elevator. Loved the outdoor pool. Was warm and big enough to do lengths. Nice lounge chairs. Pool was very clean.

Wasn’t our best stay. The room was not clean. The blow dryer was never wiped by the looks of it. I took a photo of the dirt underneath the desk. I would recommend something better than the paper voucher for breakfast if it is a concern that people are wandering in off the streets for food. It’s awkward to stop and ask people mid bite for their room number. Change the system if it’s that important to track who is having breakfast. It definitely made me feel unwelcome. Strangely the alarm on the clock went off at 6 a.m. I say strangely because it didn’t go off our first night there. And we didn’t touch the clock. Very odd. For almost $200 a night in that area it was overpriced. The wifi was spotty. It’s in need of updating. I would not recommend.

Noisy guests in room next door (105). I was in 107 and complained to front desk a couple of times, however, the situation did not improve so I asked to be moved to another room around midnight.

Rooms and furniture need a renovation. It is shabby and old. Bed was making all kind of noises and mattress was worn out and uncomfortable. Highlight was the breakfast and they keep the breakfast area immaculate.

This hotel is clean and well maintained. If you request a second floor unit - there is no elevator. The toilet in our room was not filling properly and after a flush in the middle of the night the tank refill stuck on with water constantly running requiring myself to repair it. The in room heater was loud and came on and off with short run cycles leading to a sleep disturbed night. We didn't have the breakfast there and checkout was simple. Aside from the heater and toilet - the stay was OK and I would rate the hotel as average.

Overall this was a decent stay for good value. The room was overall fairly clean and well maintained. I had not looked closely at my booking and was quite surprised to realize it was two double beds instead of queens. Clearly it used to be queens as the headboards were too large for the beds. The room was big enough for queens. No idea why the change was made. Makes it for a tight squeeze for a family. The breakfast was standard. Nice option to not have to eat out. At the time of our stay the hotel was setting up a new payment system that wasn’t working. So they were asking for a cash deposit of $100. That seems very unrealistic expectation for many. Overall it will do the trick and not break the bank.

The front desk employee (Dave) was amazing. We came for a hockey tournament, which is never easy on hotel employees. He never lost his patience with the kids. Helped us get a conference room to congregate in, and was just overall plesant.

You could walk to tons of stores, restaurants etc. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again next visit 100 percent :)

Lovely hotel. Great staff, clean, quiet, good value. Continental breakfast turned out to be hot and cold choices covering all aspects served in a lovely dining area. Even make your own waffles! Great coffee. Close to all major shopping, some within walking distance. Totally recommend this little gem.
