Staff was friendly. Pool was more like an oversized bathtub but the water was clean. Bed was ok and things were fairly clean. Breakfast was toast, cereal etc. But there was plenty.

There’s a list of things here. The hallways reek of cigarettes. The rooms themselves smell of cigarettes, but not as bad as the hallway. The hotel advertised a gym/fitness center yet had none. The breakfast’s only solid food was prepackaged hostess coffee cakes The hair dryer in our room was broken The vent in our bathroom was broken We found a cup of coffee sitting in the bathroom and the trash hadn’t been taken out. When I went downstairs to ask about where the gym is and showed them on the reservation where it was listed as an amenity they literally scoffed, laughed at me for a second, and then ignored me. They made me feel as if it was my fault to bother them not just this one time, but during check in as well. Beats sleeping in my car, but not by much!

Service at the desk was quick and efficient. Room had a pantyliner stuck to the peep hole. Lots of vagrants in the area and possibly living in hotel. Room had stained blankets with holes but was clean. No elevator. Breakfast was cold cereal, bread, juice coffee. 2nd floor smelled bad. Non working washer.

First of all the hotel has no elevator. If you cannot manage your luggage up a flight of steps; book somewhere else. Our first room smelled of smoke. The fridge did not get cold and the sheets were stained. Otherwise it was OK.

My expectations were well exceeded! The staff were all very friendly, they honored a room request I had when I booked. I stayed on the 1st floor and it was recently redone, hallways and room had newer carpet and furniture. The bathroom was clean, beds were comfortable, the property was quiet, parking lot well lit. The price was hard to beat. The continental breakfast was basic, no warm options, but it was a good snack until you can get to a place to eat. I will definitely stay here again.

The front desk was very nice and helpful. When we arrived at our room the door was propped open and the stench of cigarettes was overwhelming even in the hallway. There was a full trash can from the previous occupants in the room. And the white coverlet on the bed was covered with stains!! We’ve seen some pretty bad continental breakfasts in hotel but this one reached for a new low. We were just looking a simple stay during our roadtrip, but we were hoping for clean and nice. The staff was nice the rest was not. We will never stay there again!!!

The front desk clerk was rude. Barely spoke. Wasn’t welcoming. The room appeared clean but then the pillows had makeup on them so it was apparent it wasn’t washed bedding. I was only staying for a short layover on my road trip and used my own pillow and blanket.

The grounds and lobby were clean. We did have to wait several minutes for the reception to check us in, there was a person waiting in front of us who was getting very impatient. She had been waiting for awhile. There was a sign saying they would be back in 5 minutes. We probably waited that long ourselves. Although, he did get us registered quickly. The main complaint is about our room, for the most part, it was clean; decorated in a retro theme, but then there was a very dirty, stained, plaid loveseat in the room. It was disgusting, it should have been in the trash. We looked over the whole room. Thank goodness everything else was ok, or we would have demanded a different room or our money back. I also never write reviews, but that was a nasty loveseat.

The day before we booked, the hotel and surrounding area was put under a boil water advisory. This meant we could not shower or use the water. The advisory was still in place when we checked in, and this is when we were informed of the current situation. The price we paid was the normal rate, no discount was factored in or offered. Expedia customer service tried to get a refund for us, but after a few attempts it was ultimately denied by Howard Johnson management. We fully understand that Howard Johnson was not responsible for the situation they were in. The issues we have are they knowingly hid the boil water advisory from us, charged full price and denied any compensation. Business practices like these are deceiving and short sited. The well-being of their customers is not a concern, just the bottom line. Unfortunate, but not a surprise.

We stayed here one night while passing thru. The room was a comfortable size for three adults. Wish there had been a grab bar for the shower. the "continental" breakfast was just 2 cereals, one muffin selection, yogurt and drinks. Easy access on/off 64/77 it was fine for one night stay

Checked in with Mathew he was wonderful he even cared my bags up the stair. The place was very clean. Heater worked great and was quiet. The room was quiet. The shower had nice hot water. Gas stations, IHOP up the hill all kinds of restaurants and stores in walking distance. Felt very safe. Will stay again when I come up from Florida right, right off the highway.

Great place to stay for the night. They do have the weakest complimentary breakfast of any hotel that I've stayed at. However, their price offsets the meager breakfast. Plus, IHOP and Sonic are right across the street and a very fine little coffee shop called, The Chocolate Moose, is right up the road.
