Great location and good value. However, the wifi lounge was not available as the hotel had rented it out for a filming for 2 full days during my 3 day stay. I booked this hotel for the wifi lounge for remote work. Since there is no lobby or public space this stay was completely inconvenient. Additionally, the towel bar in the bathroom was falling off the wall.

Pros: The building exterior and location are great. The staff was friendly and attentive. Clean, soft linen. Cons: The interior of the building needs a total overhaul. Upon arrival I got stuck in the elevator (looks original like an nyc old school with a gate thing), my keypad didn't work (the #4 was inoperable) and I had to go back down to get a fob, the room had a window ac unit with tape around it and stains on the shade from clear water damage, I could hear every single noise from the street, there were some obvious cleanliness issues such as mold in the refrigerator drawer and some other overlooked areas. The 4 stars are for the friendly staff, otherwise this would be 2 stars considering the rate paid. I have stayed at other Placemkr properties and have not seen these issues.

The front desk ladies were not helpful at all with parking situation. We called before booking their hotel regarding parking option, the information they provided was inaccurate and there's no overnight parking at/next to the hotel. parking garage next door told us we could only leave the car there until 8pm there's no overnight parking. we had to drive away and look for other overnight parking garages. when we reached out to the front desk ladies for help they were not helpful and refused to let us talk to the manager to get more information and help. Will not return to this hotel again. will not recommend to any friends. one of the worst service experienced.

Great studio apartment in a converted mansion on DuPont Circle. Spotless with an upgraded experience and a perfect location. Affordable parking is an available in the area not right at the entrance. Call in advance for the info to make your life easier. I travel a lot. This place was perfect!!!

When I made the reservation, I had no idea the property is a former mansion built in 1903. Details of the property were quite lovely. Fortunately, there is an elevator to reach the studios upstairs. Unfortunately, the adjacent parking garage was closed, but a staff member showed us the next closet garage 1 1/2 blocks away. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful.

Really neat property. Cool converted mansion. Good Gym, etc,... Room was large, full kitchen, and a lounge area with a couch. Onething to consider: no one on the property between 11pm and 7 am. Which is why the price is relatively reasonable for DC. I would stay again, but if I was a woman traveling alone I would probably give it a pass.

Convenient to the red line metro, clean, and comfortable. I didn’t realize my unit was in the basement with very little natural light. The old fashioned elevator was cool but challenging to navigate with luggage. Gym was clean and well-ventilated but there are only two cardio machines - one stair, one treadmill. So it fills fast.

I booked this property for a conference at the convention center for a few days. The building is very good looking on the exterior and is up to date and clean on the interiors. Easy check in and check out process. Front desk personnel were very friendly. The place is located within walking distance from the convention center (25min fast pace) and I felt very safe in the mornings on my way out and very late in the night on arrival. I only used the gym and it was small but useful and convenient. The studio was just what I needed it, everything was cleaned, and we even had a courtyard door that we could have opened if we wanted. The add-ons of small kitchenette, fridge, and washer/dryer were a plus! we used them all throughout the stay. The area has restaurants near by and a 24hr pharmacy a few blocks away. I would definitely recommend the place for business or vacation stays!

We were in a basement room, which we did not expect. It was dark with a very small window at the top of the wall. The bed was comfortable and the room had good amenities including a full kitchen, sofa, and dining table, but it was not at all cozy or inviting. It felt like a well appointed bunker. I have to assume that rooms on the upper floors are more inviting. It was disappointing to stay in a grand old building and have the room be devoid of any character.

Amazing location and very spacious and clean apartment. A few in room issues such as the first day the sink plug was broken meaning the sink would not drain. This was however sorted within 24hrs by staff. Bathroom sliding door was faulty and would often fall off the hinges. This resulted in us twice becoming trapped in the bathroom. The shower in the room was slow and for some reason the hairdyer would only blow cold air. No proper sheet covering on the duvet (duvet laid betweent to flat sheets), leaving the duvet exposed which was odd.

The room was fantastic. Location excellent. Very clean and almost everything was in working fashion. The only issue was the washer / dryer combo machine. We tried to wash out clothes the night before leaving and we got about 40 minutes through the wash cycle into the spin cycle and the machine began to shake violently like it was off balance. We thought it might exploded by how back it was shaking. Or at the very least someone would be knocking on our door complaining. Thankfully that never happened and I just cut the wash short to just skip to the drying portion. However, it seemed as if the vent had never been cleaned out. The dryer would get extremely hot even though we had it on low heat setting. Then it would only dry for about 10 minutes then stop and display a message saying "cancelled." We tried looking for the vent to clean it out ourselves but could find it. And the one spot we thought it might be at we couldn't access without a tool. So we had to pack soaking wet clothes for our flight home. So our last night was unfortunate because that took until about 1:30 am until we gave up on that. But other than that situation we truly loved it and will definitely be coming back. Just not using the washer/dryer combo machine haha.

I have mixed feelings about this property. View, light, and privacy are very important to me, so I called ahead to make sure we’d be in a room facing the square (in the older building), not one overlooking the adjacent wall, as some reviewers had warned. I was advised to book a one-bedroom instead of a studio , as I had originally planned. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were placed in a room facing another building with very little light or privacy—and directly next to the noisy elevator. The room also wasn’t very clean. When I asked to switch rooms, the front desk couldn't help that evening (it was only 6.30pm), and I was told to speak to the manager the next morning. Thankfully, the manager was kind and accommodating, and moved us to a studio, which was exactly what we were hoping for—bright, full of natural light, and facing the square. There was some traffic noise at night, but it didn’t bother us. In short: our first room was a 1-star experience, the second was a 5-star. So overall, it’s a mixed review and i am glad we were able to change room after 1 night. Location is really great, and close to restaurants and shops. Lots of options within 10-15 min walk.

Great location, price, room size - everything you need for a short or long stay. Beautiful building and great shape - as good as any 4 star hotel. Only downside is that I didn’t have a view (big window but just faces other back windows of other buildings).

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Home away from home. Side entrance you can access in and out like a true residential apt. Room had almost everything you need for a longterm visit. Only thing missing was an iron in the room. Walls are thin so hopefully you get quiet neighbors next to you and light footed neighbors above you. I would likely stay here again.

I stayed in the "tower" side and my room was really run-down, with cheap furnishings that were coming apart and huge stains on the couch. The room itself was comfortable, spacious, and clean, but sad. The property itself is gorgeous and feels well cared for in all the common spaces. The staff was friendly and helpful. The property was very close to the metro line, which was very important to us as we were not renting a car while staying in DC. You should know that this property does not run like a normal hotel. We were not informed of that at check in and had to ask after the second day why our room had not been tidied up and the towels had not been replaced. We were told that we were scheduled for room service the following day and were able to get towels, but it would’ve been nice to have been told that upon check in. Note also that there are no vending machines or ice machines available. Because there was a full kitchen in the room, we were able to start making ice, but again, it would’ve been nice to know that in advance so we could’ve picked up a bag of ice when we shopped for a few grocery items.

The staff were very friendly and hospitable. This was my first time staying at a Placemakr property. It’s not your traditional hotel, but it was perfect for my stay. Location was great! Loved being able to stay right on DuPont Circle. The restaurant and nightlife were great. It’s close to the Metro, while also being positioned in a walkable location to so many things in the heart of DC.

We really liked the room . The staff were polite and helpful with any queries. The lamps didn't work in the room and, although we stayed for six nights and put a sign on the door, our room wasn't cleaned nor the towels changed. We're not dirty people but the rubbish bin filled up and, when my husband queried the lack of cleaning and emptying of the bin, the lady on reception gave him some clean bin liners and showed him where he could put his rubbish. not what we expected.

Because of my flight, I arrived extremely late (around 1:00 am). When I arrived, I learned that I needed to fill out a form that Expedia should have sent me and never did. In addition, because of my delayed arrival, they declared the room as "no show." So I needed assistance with this mess. There is only a one-way camera to talk to someone, and I spent over an hour filling out the form and waiting for a room to be assigned to me - even when I had paid in full for my stay. I was provided with different codes to access my room, and several did not work while I was communicating with the person just over email. Extremely poor customer service

Excellent location. Restaurants and shopping all in walking distance. Subway station is a couple blocks away and will get you to all the sights. There’s a CVS across the park to grab snacks and drinks. Really cool place in a really cool building.

The studio was perfect in many ways. Well equipped and well thought out. An excellent location in beautiful neighborhood, and just steps to the Metro station. However, it was very difficult to get rest as the noise from traffic (horns honking constantly, emergency vehicle sirens, etc) was overwhelming. Hopefully the hotel replaces windows in the older building with sound-proof windows. Until then, ear plugs are a necessity!

The location of this hotel was great - a short walk from the Metro red line. The outside is beautiful. Some of the furniture needed replacing - chips on coffee table and paint peeling on the BR vanity. Otherwise the room was great especially for a long stay since it has a kitchen. The worst part was the included breakfast. There was no regular coffee, only decaf K cups and they ran out saying we get a shipment tomorrow. A very basic continental breakfast. No butter or cream cheese for bagels, no protein available. There were some yogurt cups but none available when we got there. No employee to monitor and restock the breakfast and not much available to restock anyway. The person at the front desk would come up to the breakfast area if you told him that there was no coffee, etc but unfortunately he did not have much available to work with. The staff was pleasant and did the best that they could. The best part was the location and the beauty of the outside of the building. It was a mansion many years ago. Worth staying here but go out to breakfast or prepare your own in the nice kitchen in the room.

I loved the area. We felt completely safe walking day and night. The room was very clean and updated. The room had everything we needed and more. The gym was spacious and had nice equipment. The only negative was the breakfast. One guest said uninspiring. However since there was a fridge and everything else in our room, gabbing milk, juice, and cereal provided was fine by me. Some bananas. Apple, and oranges would have been a nice option. I will stay there again. My in laws have already booked! Street parking is tough in DC.

Very convenient location, right on Dupont Circle. Parking was in an independent garage a few minutes away. Some staff were friendly and helpful, others were less so-- overall they seemed very under-staffed, as many places are right now. The breakfast was disappointing-- they need some fresh fruit. The building itself is gorgeous and the common areas are nice. Our room was on the first floor and I was concerned about noise but we faced the courtyard and it was very quiet.

The breakfast was very basic--pastries & toast, fruit, coffee, tea, milk. There were no plates for the pastries or toast--only bowls were available. Utensils were scarce and the staff sporadic in what they restocked. The cleanliness of the breakfast room was only okay--counters were not wiped down and used utensils left in sinks. The location is good--right on Dupont Circle. The rooms were surprisingly not sound proof--could hear folks in other rooms though generally people were quiet and kept TVs low. It was not made clear on checkin that maid service needed to be requested--everything in the room seemed to indicate daily service. Once we learned you simply needed to request by 10a.m. there was no problem. Also, is easy to request fresh towels when required. But again, not made clear upon check in.

Great location. Comfortable and quiet. Amenity space was convenient for work. Staff extremely helpful. Was able to check in early and drop off bags after checking out so we could enjoy our last day in DC. Free breakfast was uneven. Milk, toast, fruit and yogurt were fine along with filtered water dispenser. There are plenty of good coffee/breakfast places in the neighborhood, so would recommend going out.

It's a cozy room which should fit well with a couple or small families, but I was solo for a weekend so couldn't make use of all (kitchen, washing machine, etc). Very convenient location and I like the old building upfront but too bad there was no introduction of it. I may go back if below is improved: 1. Service not available: Only one person at front desk, and he/she was either busy with checking-in/out or not at the desk. 2. Housingkeeping by request: I think it makes better sense if NO-housekeeping by request. 3. Short of amenities: I only got one small bar soap for handwashing, one sachet of shampoo, and two bottles of conditioner. Shampoo is definitely not enough and no shower gel at all. I was trying to get them from the front desk but there was a long line waiting for the lady so I decided to buy from the CVS store across from the circle. 4. Continental breakfast was only available for day 1. No breakfast available for day 2 & 3 due to supplier issue or party held the previous night (so I heard). I saw some of the guests angry or talking about it sour.
