The check in, check out people were very polite. The building, grounds, lobby and such looked clean and well kept. The room, on the other hand, was another story. We like the La Quinta hotels we have stayed at in the past and expected the same but were disappointed with this one. First thing was the curtains would not open. They were roll up and the strings were all broken so we could not look outside. The bathroom had a bad smell, just old. It is an old hotel and the bathrooms have not been updated. (The toilet is still the 3 gallon, very slow flushing and have to hold the handle down to make it flush) The sink also was stained and did not have a stopper in it. But what bothered me the most was the safety lock for the door was broken. We did not notice that until we were locking everything for the night. I did not eat the breakfast so I cannot comment on that. We honestly do not understand why La Quinta would put their name on this one.
