Beautiful location near the river. People mover stop in the building. Convenient and walkable to shops and restaurants. Room was spacious and comfortable. Only negative is the hot tub was out of order and that’s one of the reasons we booked this hotel over others.

The staff at the check in counter was great. The view the room had was amazing. Was disappointed that our room didn't have a microwave. Also was highly disappointed that the hot tub wasn't hot at all. Nice hotel though.

Only offering to park at the hotel was valet and it took FOREVER to get into the drop off area. From 4:00 pm to 10:00am the next morning we got charged $80 for parking. That was ridiculous (and we got trapped in by other cars when we were ready to leave). The location was perfect for our night at Ford Field but will look for a different location the next time we attend a night Lions game.

Rooms are nice, newly renovated. My biggest complaint is parking... No parking included and valet parking is $44! Self parking is a long walk to a public parking lot for the convention center. And that is $24 per night with no in and out privileges. If I had it all to do again, knowing what I know now, I would have stayed out farther and commuted in for the meeting that I was in town for.

Everything was perfect. Remodeled rooms, brand new everything and done well. Centrally located. Room view was amazing. Janitorial crew even made us feel as if THEY were happy. Sad note, the reason i rented this hotel was because it had a pool and hot tub but apparently Hotels.com didnt know it and wasted my tim and money coming here. Pool and hot tub closed for reconstruction. I am pissed. These old bones needed that hot tub so call the hotel first before you use Hotels.com

I was greeted professionally and graciously by the front desk; even given an upgrade to my room as I was staying 5 nights. The rooms have been redone, had lots of closet space and a beautiful new bathroom. My two negatives: 1) I asked for daily housekeeping and even after requesting it a second time after they skipped my room on day1 (my doing - later in the room) and 2 - their doing for no reason, they still skipped the Wednesday after doing the room on Tuesday. So housekeeping came once in the 5 days!! 2) I was attending a conference at the REN Centre across the road. The only convenient way to get to the overpass was to walk up and down a cement stairwell, behind closed doors. It did not feel the safest for me. Also, roads in Detroit were very much under construction for the upcoming Formula 1 (or other) road race. It did not make it easy to walk around the area.

Very clean,in excellent repair(recently renovated). Across the street from Ren Center. Friendly, helpful staff. Valet parking,or self parking around the corner-be sure to ask what level on elevator to use to get back to hotel.

Nice staff and view but the hotel was a wreck, under construction and no discount offered. Fitness center and pool closed, no market, lobby smelled bad. Very thinly staffed that getting valet was challenging. Our room was made up, after one night stay, but they did not bother to wipe down the sink or do anything other than the beds. Eclipse weekend was still great, but have to say it was despite the hotel.

No in room control of temperature. When we got into our room it was 74- we turned it down to 69- two hours later no change at all. We called the front desk to inquire. The man at the front desk stated “when the heats on in the building you can’t control the temperature on the room- open a window or we can find you a fan”😳 We had friends have the same experience. 300 a night for a hot and muggy room.

I would absolutely stay at this hotel again. The staff was phenomenal, so friendly and beyond accommodating. The hotel is under renovations, but you'd never know it based on how clean and quiet the hotel is. The only reason for my low marks, is because our room on the 20th floor had an issue where there was a strong whistling noise from the vents and around the door to the room, that kept me from sleeping all night long.It was so noticeable, you could clearly hear it in the hallway when leaving. It is a beautiful hotel, but I want to be able to sleep soundly when paying $$$ for a room.

I booked six hotel rooms for my employees. Called and had all all the rooms changed to their name, and one of the rooms was taken by someone who I did not put down their name and had to pay for another room. I called in a gentleman could not help me on the phone for an hour while my employee sat in the lobby waiting for his room. This is unacceptable and will be reaching out for further assistance.

Everyone was nice and did a wonderful job from valet to front desk to housekeeping. Their attitudes were pleasant. The hotel has access to the people mover that takes you around downtown but you have to use a room key to get through to the lobby. It is safe and clean. This is our second stay there and my go to!

We arrived at the hotel early and were greeted by the front desk attendant who was very friendly and attentive. As a matter of fact she is one of the best people I have encountered at a check in and made a lasting impression. She was able to upgrade us to a suite and expedited our checkin process. The hotel is conveniently located and has 2 restaurants on the property as well. The recent renovations are amazing. The price for the stay was also more affordable than many other hotels. The hotel also has beautiful views of the Detroit River and Renaissance building. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We got to the hotel at 4pm couldn’t check into our room till 6:30 because non of the rooms were clean. The view from the room was cool you could see the river and Canada but other than that it was an average hotel disappointed about how long it took to check in

Hotel is great, awesome location and above average cleanliness. Disappointed while checking in hotel clerk said I can apply Marriott rewards points towards two of the four nights. Upon checking out I was billed for all four nights and that hotel rewards employee said they didn’t apply the points and were not willing to do so. I explained they did it upon check in and she said sorry they were not honoring points. Not sure why Marriott has points if you can’t use them? I have over 50k useless points. Hilton is much easier to redeem points, Marriott needs to benchmark Hilton for service ideas.

The hotel was clean, love the monorail on the 5th floor, great location and awesome hotel staff. The only thing that really was below expectations was the IHOP and Applebees inside the hotel. The food was stale and most staff looked like they didn’t want to be there.

Stay was comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. On premises Applebee's was ok, as Applebee's are, but the service was good. Only hiccup was the valet wasn't able to drive my manual transmission car, so I had to self park. I would certainly recommend The Courtyard.

The hotel looked great, valet was amazing. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. At checkin was told hours for the pool were until 10, applebees was open until midnight. Went to the pool at 9 and security was at the door saying they are closing the pool at 930. Not real happy the kids didnt get to swim long. Took them downstairs to eat applebees at 945 and was told the kitchen closed at 930 so no food. Kids were starving. Ended up doordashing pizza.
