first time staying at this hotel and it was nice. I loved the free shuttle service with in 5 miles since it was cold out and it saved us some parking fees. As far as the room I loved the space but the tv's were a bit small for such a large space and the pillows were a bit uncomfortable for my liking besides that everything was okay and staff were okay nothing to brag about. The guy driving the shuttle was awesome and friendly even showed us some new places downtown.

Beautiful hotel. We have stayed twice and had an enjoyable experience. Only issue we had was valet brought us our car with a flat tire and it was literally driving on the rim. Not sure how he couldn’t see on the dash we had a flat, as well as feeling it was fat when driving to is. Driver then offered to take it back to the garage. Thus, driving on the rim again. This was our only negative of the trip.

We loved how close the hotel was to all of the stadiums for sporting events. We just came into town for that. Was super great price point wise for a fun little weekend getaway. Rooms were so spacious and well kept. We had a fire alarm at 1:00am during our stay that was very disruptive. The alarm went on for a long time with instructions to leave the building. So we exited by the stairs out through alarm sounding doors onto the streets in the middle of the night. We then went back to the lobby for no staff to be concerned or telling guests it's fine to return to their rooms. I would say that really didn't sit well with me. The instructions on the speakers were to leave, but staff were not helpful or telling you otherwise. People running down stairs with baby strollers and small sleeping children at 1:00am deserves a bit more concern and respect from staff. It was the one part that ruined our entire weekend, and nobody seemed concerned to help us otherwise.

Love the grand foyer. All of the marble and massive ceilings. The room was a wonderful King suite. The tub was not a jacuzzi but very deep and great for soaking. We also used the free shuttle service ( which stops at 10 pm).

The hotel was beautiful. The room was spacious. A lot of noise from the street. I would suggest bringing earplugs. It wasn’t as clean as I was expecting. There was hair in the sink and on the bathroom counter, tags from purchases from other guests were on the floor, a few bits of garbage on the floor as well. I wouldn’t say it was dirty, it just seemed to have quick once over from housekeeping. Breakfast was not very good either. The waitress got my order wrong and the pancakes were rubbery. I would go back again but I would not have the breakfast.

Interesting architecture and cool decor, our room was very spacious. All the staff were friendly and helpful. However cleanliness was a problem, the shower mat was dirty and the iron had something stuck to it that made me concerned about using it.

Everything seemed fine until my 7 year old found a used condom on the floor between the bed and wall. The night Manager did nothing to help i had to pack my family up at almost midnight walk to the front desk and demand another room.

Beds were comfy and the living space was clean. The separate sleeping and living room was nice! However, the bathroom was old and very dingy. Mold spots on ceiling and tile but it felt clean, just didn’t look clean. Valet service was top notch!

We have a double queen beds, and they both have straight hair on them, and my hair is kinky. It’s like they gave me the dirtiest room. I called guest services, and they brought us sheets, I guess to change the sheets ourselves. This unacceptable. I will take pics of the hair on each bed, and show mine. This is gross.

Nice location and many restaurants close, but construction made it almost unwalkable. The room was spot cleaned, but there were rose petals under under/behind the cabinets and in the closet as well as a glow bracelet. The door seemed like it was previously damaged with how it hung crooked and could be a struggle to lock. Near the elevators and noise was an issue. The tub was a good size and pillows were comfortable. Bed was firmer than preferred for my partner, but I slept fine. Could only watch cable since no streaming options/not a smart TV.

Guest services were amazing, got to the room and dropped an item and saw under the bed. Very dirty and had some things under there I wouldn’t like to mention on here. Room wasn’t the cleanest in my opinion overall. Very noisy on the weekends but other than that. Enjoy the hotel experience.

All the staff were super friendly and helpful. It was clean and the room was very spacious. This hotel is located within walking distance to sporting venues, especially Comerica Park and Ford Field. The only complaint is the room was extremely hot and the air conditioner didn’t work. It was cooler outside than in the room.

Our room was excellent, our interactions with the staff just fine. My main issue is that we were on the Lafayette St. side of the hotel, and we were barraged by noise from a near-by night club (thumping bass, car engines revving) that not even ear plugs could stop.

The room itself was super cool. I love a hotel that’s a repurposed building and has quirky architectural details like these cool giant columns, running up through the room. And, the room was huge! It was super clean and comfortable. However, we were placed right above the entrance on the fifth floor and, OMG, I do not know what’s going on with their HVAC. It was insanely noisy. Like deep, bassy, rumbling, vibrating noise. Maybe it was just a placement of our room and a room elsewhere would’ve been less noisy? Maybe the HVAC for the entire building was close to that room? I’m not sure but, geez.

We were there to catch a couple Detroit Tigers games. We had an amazing room — a suite with views of the river as well as the Detroit Skyline. Once the valet parked our car, we walked to restaurants as well as Comerica Park. Also within walking distance of Ford Field (Detroit Lions) and Little Caesars Arena (Detroit Pistons, Red Wings, and concerts) and Greektown/casino. This was our third stay and we will be back again. Also, the area surrounding the hotel is safe; we walked back to the hotel after a night game.

Spacious, clean suite, perfect for our traveling family. Staff were friendly and accommodating, kindly extending our checkout by an hour. Located just around the corner from the People Mover. The only slight downside was that the wall separating the shower from the bedroom was made of glass blocks. At night, when the kids went to the bathroom, the entire bedroom was brightly illuminated. Glass blocks were a major design element of the entire property (1990s aesthetic) so not casting blame on the staff...just noting that you might want to keep the bathroom lights off at night!

This hotel didn’t meet our expectations. The hotel is dated and dark. The room is really big but needs more lamps. The hallways are very dark. The area around the hotel is under construction. Made it confusing for ride share drivers due to the street closure. We saw rats outside, but we did not see any rats or bugs inside the hotel at all.

The suite was very comfortable with plenty of you. A smart TV would have been nice to login into our viewing preferences. The parking lot in the back sounded like a party late into the night. It was very convenient location to walk to sport venues. I would highly recommend to stay!

Disgusting worker at the front desk late at night. This gentleman basically scammed us into booking the wrong day. We proceed to try and get our room for the night and he smiles and snarks at us. We were all exhausted from a very long day and this person ruined the great day we were having. I’m expecting a full refund based off his attitude and the way he soured my time. We were stuck OUTSIDE of the hotel at 4am just simply trying to change a reservation to literally the day before because this gentleman said. I will be emailing about this too because it’s actually horrible that he is just left free to be in charge when he can barely handle his own emotions

The staff and housekeepers were very nice and helpful. Darnell and the Captain drove us around to wherever we wanted to go and were very friendly. Don’t desk also was welcoming. One of our favorite places to stay when in Detroit. Great location.

Everything was smooth minus the agent at the reception desk being rude when we asked why we were put in a room with 2 queen beds instead of 1 king like we paid for. She didn’t even have the decency to give us a heads up when we first checked in so we didn’t find out until we walked into the room. And when we went back down to speak with her about it she stated “I don’t understand the problem”

We came into town for an overnight stay and were pleasantly surprised from the start. The staff was extremely accommodating and attentive. The bar manager, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. Despite the hotel being quite busy, he personally made sure our room service order was delivered promptly and correctly. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would highly recommend staying here.

The male working the front desk has an attitude problem more than the females working there, he was very snappy and unapproachable, unable to ask him questions due to his smart remarks and comments back from the first questions . I arrived at 11:30 12 I try to get check in he reply to me. We’re not checking anyone in until we get everybody out this hotel I kindly ask what time would that be? He said 4 o’clock I said the concert is at 5:30. He replied back with what they got to do with me. So for the most part If I need a quick stay I pick here staff and valet was kind of sketchy. All I’m saying is don’t leave valuables in your car. Hospitality wise we were not greeted. We were told to take our things out of the car and wait for unavailable room. It was six minutes from Ford Field location wise was perfect

We bragged about this hotel for years so we all came for a friends 21st birthday and insisted we have breakfast there before the Tigers game. After we sat for 20 minutes without be acknowledged, a waitress finally walked by and we asked if we could at least put a drink order in. Her response was “not for another 10 minutes”. I don’t care how busy you are, that attitude is not acceptable.

We had a wonderful stay. The room was, clean, large, and comfortable. There was a problem with the spa tub, that couldn't not be fixed. The hotel offered to move us but we declined so they comped our parking for the inconvenience. The staff was amazing. Every person we encountered was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the A Bar in the lobby. Great drinks & food but the staff sets it apart. We were there for 3 nights and Zac went above and beyond. Even though super busy everytime he remembered our drinks and our favorite table. Scott and Tamika(?) were very good as well. Keno our shuttle driver was very friendly and knowledgeable and even was there to bring us back to the hotel before we had a chance to call. Location is perfect. Walking distance to both Ford Field and Comerica Park. As well as Greektown and many bars and restaurants. Will definitely our go to in downtown Detroit from now on.

Stay overall was enjoyable, however, we ordered room service for breakfast which came in carry out containers with plasticware in a paper bag. For the high price of room service, and caliber of hotel, I expect real plates and silverware.
