The hotel location was amazing, the hotel needs a little revamp with the carpets looking old and the air ducts looked dirty with mold but overall was a great stay with great room. Breakfast was really good and the pool was nice!!!

We specifically chose Embassy Suites because we expected the comfort, convenience, and level of hospitality associated with the Hilton brand. This trip was especially important to our family because we were moving our daughter into the University of Tampa. We intentionally selected a downtown hotel that we believed would provide us with a comfortable and convenient place to stay during an already busy and emotional few days. Unfortunately, our experience added a considerable amount of unnecessary stress to our trip. One of the most significant problems throughout our stay was the elevator service. Wait times were excessive, frequently reaching approximately 10 minutes. Simply traveling to and from our room became frustrating and time-consuming. We understand that there was a large convention taking place; however, if the hotel accepts reservations during a major event, it should also be adequately prepared to accommodate all of its registered guests. The elevator situation directly affected our breakfast experience. One morning, our family arrived at the breakfast area at approximately 9:34 a.m. after experiencing another lengthy elevator wait. As we approached the breakfast area, an attendant who was wheeling away a breakfast cart told us, “Sorry, you missed it,” and informed us that there were no exceptions. We explained the situation and spoke with the manager on duty, who did allow us into the breakfast area. Unfortunately, by that point, essentially no food remained.

For a national convention across the street, they could have adjusted the breakfast time. And they moved to a new system which caused the check in to be very very very long. And since they knew there was a convention, they could have hired more front desk staff. Felt like I was at a particular grocery store with only one person at the cash register. The staff who were limited in number were polite though. But they looked overworked and overwhelmed.
