Residence Inn by Marriott Washington, DC National Mall

All was great but the parking fees was ridiculously steep at $53 a night other than that loved the stay and wish breakfast would be until 10:30-11am especially on weekends. I will stay again when in DC but parking fee sucks.

The staff was very attentive from check in to breakfast and even locating list keys after we checked out. The location was close to the capital mall. Parking was a cost but has in and out privileges so we saved by driving to nearby restaurants. Has a gym, pool, and outdoor patio. 24 hour laundry as well.

I really enjoyed my stay it was clean and comfortable. Staff was extremely pleasent. Pool could have been a little cleaner and a little bigger, but overall i would stay there again

Excellent staff- super accommodating, professional and friendly. We felt very welcome. We parked outside the city and took the metro in for the weekend - very close to the station so easy to walk a couple of blocks to the hotel. Great breakfast and room was cleaned daily which was unexpected. Laundry was a little pricey and vending machines didn’t work for cards. I purchased laundry soap from their “store” but no fabric softener was available for purchase. The pool was small and the hot tub was kinda gross - we were looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub at night but for the size of the hotel, both pool and hot tub were too small. The hot tub was more like warm bath water. Haha :) we didn’t go back after the 1st night. Would def return - great location, great staff, great breakfast!

Location is great. Restaurant next door was tasty. Pool area/hot tub were not well maintained. Broken items, low sanitizer in hot tub. Construction started in adjacent building at 5am and woke up everyone. Not their fault but receptionist was very rude about it. They gave us a rebate for our $50 parking as compensation.

The positives: the staff was very friendly; the hotel is walking distance to the National Mall; the 2 bedroom suite is spacious and well-equipped; there’s a convenient little shop in the lobby; there’s a very good sandwich shop next door; several restaurants within walking distance including the waterfront Wharf area; bike share bikes were nearby; the hotel has a parking garage. The negatives: the heating wasn’t working properly; 2 out of 3 TVs in our suite didn’t work; the room smelled musty; the power was out from 9:30-4pm one day; the pool was closed for over a week for repairs; most of the cardio machines in the gym were out of order; parking was $53 per day; the breakfast buffet always ran out of items including utensils and plates; the food options were limited; the carpet needed cleaning.

This hotel is in a great location for exploring DC. We stayed four weeknights with a family of four and it met our needs. The area felt safe and we were able to walk to the National Mall. There is also a convenient Metro stop nearby. The breakfast changed a little each day and was well-stocked. The pool is small and the hot tub was not quite warm enough, plus both were a little cloudier than I would like, but we used them every night and the kids enjoyed the amenity. Even though our room was right next to the pool, laundry, and gym, it was not excessively loud. The laundry room was a big plus on our trip. Overall we would definitely stay again.

The pool is closed and they didn’t notify us or several other families who we saw walking to the pool in swimsuits! Pretty upsetting for our kids. We booked the hotel because of the pool. Everything else was great

This was a clean and quiet property. The staff was excellent. The breakfast bar was fantastic! I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The parking garage was slightly frightening. The space was VERY narrow, so if you have a large vehicle I’d caution you to park elsewhere. Also, I was a little put off that they didn’t inform me parking cost $45.00 per day. I figured it had a price, but I didn’t know it was that steep. Otherwise, great experience!

The hotel and staff were great. However, the hot tub was foamy and dirty. We could not enjoy that amenity and we were disappointed. Staff was informed but no one showed u until we checked out.

Immaculate rooms. Good breakfast buffet. Great location 8 min walk to The Capitol Building. Dining options steps away. Close to everything. Super friendly staff. Good parking- come and go as you please 24hr a day. 5 stars.

Everything was great with the hotel. Except bugs and roaches. I know it’s the city but we had at least 10 bugs/roaches that we killed in the room on a 4 day stay in room 804. Breakfast was awesome the first morning, great selection and something for everyone. After continuing to see bugs in the room, we decided not to eat in the hotel anymore after the 1st breakfast. Had activities that the kids did enjoy in the lobby. The pool was small but ok for the kids to play in after walking all day. The jacuzzi was nice but filled up with people quickly and they didn’t leave it. Overall a nice place, would be perfect if it wasn’t for bugs.

We enjoyed the stay. Everything was perfect, except the stain in the carpet and bathroom trim was coming off. Neither affected our stay, but I thought you would like to know.

Property is dated for the price. Overall large room. Close to most things. Parking is pricey at hotel definitely for price of room should be included. Plus is room at Netflix and kitchen. Hotel could have been cleaner Overall 3 star stay Value was a 2 star

The area is safe, I would say even at night. The Metro is about a 3-4 minute walk which makes it easier to go anywhere once you get familiar with the area map. The hotel staff was really nice and helpful, from the front desk to the breakfast staff. The breakfast was ok, pretty much everyday was the same and they did not serve bacon any of the days (we stayed for 6 days). The room was clean and spacious. The only reason o give 4 stars it’s because the furniture, appliances and kitchen need an urgent update. For the price paid I would’ve expected a more high-end room. I’ve stayed at other Residence Inns in the past and they’re usually more upscale. Definitely needs a facelift. The pool was warm and full of kids running amoc, the jacuzzi was full of bubbles but there was some dirt in there? Overall, I would recommend the hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was fantastic, and the room size was more than we had expected. The cleanliness was also impressive.

Room completely outdated and a/c extremely noisy. Bathroom with humidity and mold and looked old and not comfortable. Staff in the lobby was not super helpful when asked to help us to set up the sofa bed, and housekeeping “forgot” to make our room although we asked her to do so. Room lighting was very weak, and furnitures teared and super used.

Hotel was clean, house keeping did an exceptional job clean the room and providing incidentals, and everyone from the front desk to the people picking up from breakfast were polite amd helpful.

The continental breakfast was great. Plenty of beverage choices. Only choice not there was hot chocolate. Some food items, like fruit, varied day by day. The elevators were fast. The room was clean, including the refrigerator, freezer, stovetop, dishwasher, and bathroom. Hot tub temperature was good, although the water jets were lower than my waist. Plenty of towels available for the hot tub and pool. Poor Internet connection during rainy weather. Fruit flies spotted around pool shower and private booth in the dining area. One TV in the private booths was not working.

Nice location: 10-15 mins waling to National Mall and a few museums as well as the wharf. Way above average included breakfast. Ok condition: 1-2 elevators were out of service every day and it was creating some inconveniences during "rush" hours. Sofa bed in our room was completely dead, terrible condition.

Rooms were big but dated and they showed signs of wear. The lamp had no shade, the wooden table was missing a chunk etc. They need to pay a little attention to making it look cleaner and uodating all the wear and tear atound the property. The elevators werent running and we had to take the stairs on 2 sepeeate occasions. During breakfast was the worst because people piled up waiting for the elevators. About breakfast, the food was ok but 1 or 2 staff members in the area were extremely rude. I witnessed one approaching a 5yr old girl to scold her. Hire staff that particularly like to work with the oublic. Having to deal with rude comments at 7am is not necessary.

Great location, just a few blocks from the Capital and Eastern section of the Mall. Our two bedroom suite was spacious, the staff were wonderful and the pool and fitness center were nice. I would say, though, that the property was showing its age a bit. The cabinets in our room were chipped and the carpet was frayed in many places in our room and in the hallways.

The bed & pillows were not comfortable. Nice room but tossed & turned all night.

This facility was nice in the lobby but the rooms were old and tired. The kitchen in our room had such limited supplies we couldn’t actually cook. Four plates and it was a room for 6. The pull out couch was uncomfortable. Location was good for the mall but after 5 very very limited dining. I’ll look elsewhere next time.

This was one of the worst Residence Inns I’ve stayed at, especially for $300 plus per night. Location was good but room was dark, noisy and in need of a lot of maintenance. Staff was varied. On property market was helpful. Breakfast was not very good and chaotic from 7.30-9am.

The pull out sofa bed was the worst bed ever

We enjoyed our stay in the King suite that has a king bed and sofa bed which my boys shared. The room was spacious and clean and loved the kitchenette. That was a main deciding factor on finding a room was that it at least had a fridge and microwave, but extra bonus it comes with dishes, silverware and pots/pans. I brought my own dish soap and paper towels but they even included them too. The location is great, just a few blocks from the Smithsonian museums and Capitol. Just wish there was more variety of restaurants to walk to. The Wharf is walking distance but we took an Uber because it was incredibly hot during our stay. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and very attentive during the breakfast buffet. Breakfast was okay, good choices but I'm not much of a breakfast person anyway. The coffee bar was great and well-stocked. There is an indoor pool that seemed decent but we didn't use it. The gym is decent, my boys and I used a few of the machines. There's a little gift shop by the entrance that has everything you need, I forgot my razor and my husband forgot his belt and were able to get those there as well as cheap little souvenirs, shirts, hats, etc and has a selection of drinks and beer/wine as well. Housekeeping services was top-notch too. Overall a great stay. Highly recommend.

My room was right next to some train tracks which was annoying. Otherwise, the stay was excellent.

Our family stayed here for a several days. Every staff member was consistently helpful and friendly. The breakfast crew were very attentive and the coffee bar was clean, well stocked and and a pleasant experience to start everyday.

One of the friendliest and most helpful staff i have encountered in a long time. I would definitely stay there again.

The Residence Inn did not honor my reservation. I showed up, they had no rooms for me. I have the letter from them which I cannot attach here. Looks like the refund was not processed. Please process the refund.

We had a wonderful stay here. The staff was amazing, Nahif was wonderful checking us in(so professional, pleasant and great at multitasking). Ms Felicia was so helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable except the pillows(to me) had a musty smell. Easy walk to the National Mall.

Came for a work trip. Everytime I entered or exited the hotel I was greeted with a smile and a hello by front desk, security, and maintenance. Very welcoming environment. Breakfast was excellent, staff were great. Jason W. At the front desk went out of his way at midnight to help me print a bunch of documents I needed for a work meeting the next morning. Overall a top tier experience all around.

The staff was great! They were very attentive, friendly, and helpful. Upon our night check in we were given information about the area, restaurants, and attractions which was really helpful. The staff brought extra pillows and towels upon request. The hotel store sold snacks, beer, water, etc. a bit expensive but convenient. The breakfast was good and had a wide array of options. The hotel was very clean including the room, breakfast area, and lobby. Our room included plates and silverware and a pullout couch perfect for a child or teen. The day manager was helpful and accommodating when we needed to park out rental car for a few hours. Overall the area was good and safe. Walking distance to many attractions including Air and Space museum, Capitol, and Library of Congress.

great property for a family with kids. The breakfast and breakfast staff are amazing. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel was very accommodating. When we checked in, they didn't have a crib available. They went out and purchased on for us. Amazing service.

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating . From the front desk to the servers and maintenance. One staff member , when I asked her about a bus to a location she was careful to explain where to catch it & walked with me to make sure I knew exactly where to go. The housekeeping came daily although I was expecting every other day, they even washed my dirty dishes . I also felt safe in that after 4pm you could only enter into the place and all secured areas with your keycard.

Very friendly staff and very easy to get anywhere via walking or the metro. Metro stop is just around the corner and just a few blocks walk to the mall. Great breakfast in the morning and rooms were very quiet. Not a ton of dining options in immediate area but very easy to get to more dining options via a walk or a couple stops on the metro. Overall a great stay.

Great location, just 10 minutes walk to the US Capital. Daily Breakfast just perfect, a variety of selection to eat and the freshly brewed coffee is a plus. The room so spacious, comfy and very clean. I’ll be coming back to Residence Inn by Marriott.

Perfect location for walking to landmarks and museums.

Check in was quick, service was good. Breakfast was good , the staff were courteous and helpful, my shower head was damaged and the hotel staff quickly sent maintenance to repair.Over all the stay was great and walking distance to all monuments

I stayed here with our college aged daughter. I would stay here with my younger kids or even without kids also. We were able to walk or rent scooters around the city. We also took the metro once. The continental breakfast was a huge plus! The pool and hot tub was great. There are not many food options closeby. We always got food while we were out and about and not nearby the hotel. We ubered to Georgetown one night for dinner and walked to Chinatown for sushi the other night. Overall, it was great and I would stay again.

Location to the DC mall and the Metro make the property a great place to stay and see Washington DC.

Hotel is 5 minutes walking distance from National Mall and 15 minute walk from the Wharf where there are various dinning options. Staff is very helpful and professional

It is a great hotel. We had about an hour waiting at check in because it was a holiday weekend! It's about 40 min walk form Union Station which is awesome. I always stay here whenever I travel to DC!

We enjoyed our stay. We did have issues with weak WI-FI but did not want to pay extra for faster connectivity. Also the safe in our room was broken. I did not report this as I didn’t feel like changing rooms. Breakfast was just okay, the food was not hot enough and both toasters did not even brown the breads.

The only thing I didn’t like was the disorganization at the time of breakfast.

The breakfast choices were amazing, different items each day, hot oatmeal with 6 toppings every day. Very good servicing dining area, Antoine did his best to help everyone and maintain a clean area. Matthew at the desk helped us to change from a king to two queen beds at our request.

This was honestly perfect for our weekend stay in DC! Close walk to the national mall and easy access to foods around. The staff was super nice and accommodating and everything was clean. The breakfast bar was good and had plenty of options, I was scared reading some of the reviews but to be honest they’re exaggerating, we are not dining at Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen, like it was more than enough and good quality for a hotel breakfast let’s be perfectly real now😭 I would definitely stay here again and I recommend it to everybody and will definitely be back for my next DC stay!!
