Basically an older hotel that is barely keeping up. The rooms were fine, staff pleasant. Hallways were poorly lit and hotel decor outdated. The lounge closed an hour early both nights. Staff politely pointed out the liquor store nearby. There was no ice in the only ice machine. When I asked the front desk they said “Yeah it has been broke since last summer”… Last Summer! They did cheerfully fill my ice chest from the back but still… also they had a hard time getting the Front Desk check in technology to work, seems to be an ongoing issue. I also had to get a hotel Tech Guy to get the TV remote to work with the TV. That said it was $50 a night cheaper than the nearby (and new) Holiday Inn Express, so as a value purchase I feel I got what I paid for.

NO ELEVATOR!! This is an old hotel that looked dirty everywhere, some areas looked empty, there was tape on windows, and the room was reserved with 4 people but 3 towels and 2 washcloths.

The hotel was as expected. Unfortunately there was a very large family there and they slammed doors on their multiple rooms hundreds of times all throughout the night and morning. Not the hotels fault but made for an uncomfortable visit. No working pool as advertised.

Not a good stay. The pool was closed for construction. Pool tables in bar and closed before 9pm when we were there. So nothing for kids to do and enjoy. Place is very run down. King bed was very hard. (We had 3 rooms). We were only there for 1 night as we toured Colorado for 2 weeks. Should list POOL not functioning no hot tubs and bar/pool tables/arcade areas closes at 9pmTuesday nights.

Very poor repairs. This property needs proper cosmetic repair to be competitive. It was clean and comfortable and in a good location. The pool is empty. There is no ice machine. It meets our basic needs. A good update would do wonders.

This is a very old hotel. It does not have elevators. Patio door was unusable. One luggage cart for entire facility. Location was good. Pool was good. Breakfast was typical hotel food. Ran out of coffee and no breakfast meat. This is an old city with minimal options.

I had been traveling all day and was so looking forward to soaking in a hot bath. I was disappointed when I entered the bathroom and saw that the bathtub was filthy, with scum covering the sides and the bottom. The bathroom counter was very sticky and I was unable to wash whatever was on it off. I knew there no other rooms with a tub that night

It was pretty bad, for a “non-smoking” hotel, it smelled like smoke and even the staff member smelled of cigarettes. I know it’s a low-budget hotel but it was disgusting. The showers were left with hair from the previous people that were staying there. And it just reeked of cigarettes. 1/5 experience, would not stay there again.

The hotel is rundown refrigerator doesn’t didn’t work. Telephone didn’t work. There was mold all over the bathroom ceiling. The tub had not been cleaned. Couldn’t get the TV to work at first had to have some very long drawn out directions from the front desk eventually got it to work will not ever stay at this hotel again and advise other people not to as well

The two front desk ladies we spoke to were nice. Basically everything else however was not. We checked in around 7:30pm, and went up to our room, only after being greeted by a dirty tissue on the staircase, and a horribly musty smell. When we got to our room, we noticed how unbearably hot it was. The AC was completely off and it was over 80° in there. There was hairs all over our bathroom floor, a few in our tub, and what looked to be two used tissues in the bathroom trash can. There were gross brownish/green stains on the chair in the room, and a couple hairs on our beds. While I was picking hairs of our beds, my four year old pointed out some weird dripping brownish stains on the wall to me. Not to mention the visible crumbs on the carpet and random stains all over the place. We ended up bringing all of our bags back to the car and only coming in with our purses and a change of clothes because we had been traveling for over 6 hours and were too exhausted to make a fuss about anything or find a new hotel. We ended up going to Walmart to let the room cool off and came back and just went right to bed. When we woke up, the fridge (which we never touched because the only food we brought in was immediately eaten), had leaked onto the front of the tv stand it sits on, and onto the carpet. While checking out, I let the front desk know that our room was pretty dirty and she was very sweet, apologized and said that they’ve been getting lots of complaints on housekeeping lately…

Property is in poor condition. Carpeting was coming up in halls, holes in carpet and floors were uneven so you need to be careful not to fall. Room had gummy bears from previous occupant on floor and shower shelf still had soap from previous occupant. Breakfast consisted of over cooked sausage links, cold fried potatoes and onions and cold boiled eggs already pealed and yellowed floating in water. Of course there was cereal, yogurt, and a few other off the shelf self service options. Location must have been close to fire station as sirens went off all night. That said, staff were courteous but management or owners were unprofessional enough to discuss firing an employee within our presence and scheduling of overnight staff in front of us. If you want a less expensive place to sleep, and don’t mind the above issues, then this hotel is just that. A cheaper place to sleep, but certainly not what we expected for a $130 a night room.

Girls at front desk were nice. Toilet under rim was black dirty. We reserved 2 nights we had 1 towel 1 wash cloth 1 hand towel. Bed was so uncomfortable we asked for 3 pillows but they said we were only allowed 2. The outside sliding door is filthy inside and out. The curtain is rotting you can see where it’s splitting apart. The odor coming into hotel is like old stale cigarettes! Most horrible hotel ever stayed in. This review better be submitted to someone that can see things are changed for the better! the only decent part of our stay was the ladies at the front desk. The room was dirty, the tv didnt work, the paint in the bathroom sink was chipping. The shower grout was disgustingly dirty. There was dead spiders in the bathrooms. The next morning we came out to 5 cop cars in the parking lot. If it wasnt for the fact every where else was booked we would have left.

The property overall was pretty cool. There was a loud party going on around the swimming pool which is supposed to be quiet after 10pm. At around midnight I asked the staff if they would ask the party to quiet down. I was again woken up by the same loud individuals at 3 am. I found it hard to believe staff themselves couldnt hear the noise or atleast check the pool area to ensure everyone wasnt woken up.

The staff were great! The furniture damaged. The sliding door locks were broken, as well as the screen. The mattresses were lumpy. Too close to the noisey highway. I had to go buy earplugs. We were very disappointed that the pool was shut down. That is the main reason I chose this place. This motel doesn't even compare to the website pictures. Misleading! I took pictures of room 118, just in case they try to charge me for damages. Would only recommend this place to truckers.

It is such an old hotel, you could hear the noise from both rooms on side of us, hard time falling asleep due to tv being on so loud at rooms on side of us, shower noise was terrible in the evening, and in the morning. Paint in bathroom was pretty nasty, ruffled up and missing.

The king side bed had a large dip in the left side of the mattress which was very uncomfortable. The shower curtain is too little which results with water all over the floor whenever someone takes a shower. The room was on the 2nd floor. There is a patio door (but no patio), however the door did not lock and the screen was torn open leaving us feeling unsafe. The hotel speaks of a pool on their website, but the pool contains no water and is taped off for no access.

Air conditioner did not cool. Screens on sliding doors are torn and worn out. hair dryer sparked and smoked when turned on, Bathroom sink had no stopper to fill the sink. Grounds were not kept; the outdoor trash cans were all overstuffed and trash was blowing around. Tree leaves and tumble weeds from the fall had not been raked up and this is the end of spring. Maintenance is greatly needed in all the rooms. I will not be staying here again. There are better choices in Canon City.

We booked this stay through Hotels.com. We love Hotels.com! For this hotel; the photos online were much nicer than the actual Hotel was. When we arrived, we were intially disappointed because the photos has us expecting a much nicer and newer hotel. The hotel shows very dated and the interior isn't nearly as well lit as the photos showed. The hallways seemed darker and the carpeting was terribly dated, worn out and buckling up in numerous places. Furthermore, the carpet was so worn that we could see and feel the old concrete underneath them. The physical attributes of the building seem very worn out and tired from years of wear and deferred updating. The hotel would really benefit from a complete rehab and modernization. The room was decent, clean, the bed was comfortable and the front desk had hot coffee available, which was nice. The bar area was nice and the bar tender was super attentive, friendly and professional. The prices at the bar were very reasonable too. Furthermore, the front desk staff were very professional and friendly too. In summary, the staff were great, but the hotel itself could really benefit from a complete modernization.

Great experience. The room was very clean, bed comfy, check-in staff friendly and helpful. There was some remodeling going on but it didnt affect us at all. The breakfast host very obviously enjoyed her job. She greeted guests, knew which ones had been there yesterday, made recommendations on sight-seeing options. Nice place for not a lot of money..

Check in was easy. Their claim to fame is that famous Western movie stars stayed there so they have signs on the doors. Otherwise, the property is falling apart. Our sheets were stained, but they did change our room immediately. The rooms are in desperate need of renovation, paint, new furniture, new shower, etc. The bed was super hard. The guests staying there were terrible, slamming doors, drunk and yelling outside and in the halls.

When I got too the hotel I had too sit there for 90 min while I waited on someone too get tho and check me in. They left the premises. The front desk work was completely off premises for 90 minutes. I was a female there at night waiting and it was very uncomfortable and scary. I don’t think I should have had too pay fir my room.. I would like a refund. I didn’t get too check in till after midnight and was gone by 7 am . It’s was a horrible experience

The hotel was very nice and clean. We stayed two nights and loved that our dog friendly room was near an exit and had a sliding glass door to let her out as well as unload the car. Fabulous! The breakfast was decent. Fun to walk through the halls of the hotel and see the placards with the famous people who slept there in the past with the movie posters accompanying the signage. The hotel is close to many of the great attractions in Canon City.

Overall satisfied. Hallway carpet needs replaced. Breakfast is not good. Need a few more items. Prepackaged muffins were dry, scrambled eggs not good. Also Breakfast serving area was pretty cold temperature wise.

The Hotel is older, and they say that they are remodeling, but not much show of it. Not a good idea to take out all hot tubs. The breakfast was so bad that many people left and said they would go some where else. There were small kids running around and almost tripped sever people. Most of the food was gone and the ones taking care for the line where doing nothing to clean the area up and to get more food replaced. I hope that we don't have to stay here again.
