Great location, but the facade of the building is very nondescript and can easily be missed when driving. There is very little are or available area to pull out of traffic to unload, so be prepared to move quickly and please know large bags will be a detriment. Staff was incredibly welcoming and efficient. Hotel was clean, spacious room, gym was well equipped, and at check we paid for parking for a significant discount at the nearby City Hall parking garage. Overall very pleased. My only issue involved regulating the thermostat as the front desk managed it by timer and the amount to which you could regulate the temperature.

O hotel é muito novo! O checkin e checkout são automatizados, o que facilita bastante e não tem filas! O chuveiro é maravilhoso! Água abundante e não inunda o piso! O quarto tem um tamanho bom e o blackout é perfeito! Fica até difícil acordar!! Parabéns pelo cuidado do hotel!! Pensaram em cada detalhe!! Great location in the middle of Cork. Room was lovely (although the view was just of an internal courtyard... Not that that mattered). Decent size room, comfy bed. Reception staff very helpful. Nice and quiet. Excellent breakfast! Restaurant nice too. Parking available at a good discounted rate in the nearby City Hall multistory. You can park outside for 15mins to drop bags though. Would stay again for sure!

The hotel itself was lovely! Small things, no tissue in the room, bathroom sink didn’t drain properly! I did inform the staff. However the parking was a nightmare, not only was there no pull in to drop our luggage, we had to walk to a parking garage a couple blocks away! I understand that it is not the hotels fault however additional details or a message prior to check-in would have been appreciated. The front desk staff were lovely, and took it upon themselves to come outside and assist with our luggage and take it directly to our room, also made a lovely recommendation for dinner as well.

We had to switch rooms due to a strong mold smell and hair and trash found behind the curtains. The second room, right next door, was slightly better, but the bathroom had a funky odor. It was also very noisy, as the room shook every time neighbors opened or closed their doors. To make things worse, cigarette smoke drifted in whenever the windows were open, since staff were smoking directly below. On top of that, the hotel is located on a busy street with constant traffic and construction noise, making it difficult to get any rest. Staff were great and helpful.

The hotel’s location is fantastic — central, convenient, and walkable to everything we needed. That alone made our stay manageable. However, several issues would make me choose a different place next time, especially given how many other hotel options are in the area. The biggest downside was the noise. The building seems to be constructed in a way that every door closing or slamming echoed loudly into our room, even late at night. It made it difficult to fully relax or get a solid night’s sleep. Temperature control was also a problem. The thermostat in our room was broken, so we had to rely on the front desk to adjust it remotely, which never actually set it to a comfortable level. It always felt off —way too cool — and we had no way to fix it ourselves. Cleanliness was another concern. While nothing was outright filthy, it clearly hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. My son was playing with Legos on the floor and kept getting other people’s hair tangled in the wheels — more than once. That’s something that shouldn’t happen in any hotel room. The room was in the basement which I was not aware upon booking so it obviously didn’t have a window other than a fake one. But the main issue was the noise next to the room which sounded like a large washing machine on spin cycle and woke me up at 05:30 in the morning! Also the self check-in is awful.

First impressions were good - room was clean and modern. However, the farcical air con counteracts any good points as it was impossible to sleep. It's set centrally to 19 and you can't change it. This wouldn't be so bad if it actually worked but the room was boiling (especially early in the morning when the sun streamed in the floor-to-ceiling windows and the air con didn't kick in). When we spoke to reception they assured us that they would override the 'auto set to 19' feature to allow us to change the temperature. That night, the air con was disabled altogether so we ended up on the phone to reception at midnight and 2.30am when the person on the other end said 'yes I can see from here that your room is currently 23 degrees'. They then brought us a comically small desk fan. The next morning on checkout, I asked to speak to the manager to talk about this dreadful experience and was told that although he wasn't there right then, he would be in touch later. It's now been 10 days and I've sent 2 emails to the guest relations manager, and so far I have been ignored. If you can't give your guests a good night's sleep due to something as basic as temperature control, you're fundamentally failing in your purpose as a hotel. Unfortunately the Maldron seems to have a 'we've got your money so we don't care' approach to service. Especially disappointing considering we were in Cork to run the half marathon and could really have done with some sleep.

Good sized room but was pretty stuffy. Couldn’t have window open and ac on at same time and couldn’t get comfortable at night. Don’t know if it’s normal but may want to avoid Saturday. There was some sort of punk concert venue nearby. Noise went on till midnight. Could hear it through closed windows and my head under a pillow. That was pretty obnoxious. Did laundry through hotel. Pretty quick next day service. There were some events going on at hotel and the hallways were loud late two nights we were there.

I recently stayed at the Maldron Hotel South Mall Cork City and booked an Executive King room. Upon check-in with Valeria, we went to our room only to find a double bed, despite having paid extra for a king (€80 more). When I returned to the front desk, Magdalene insisted I hadn’t booked a king room and even suggested I “be more careful when booking next time.” She initially said nothing could be done. After I pressed the issue, she reluctantly switched us to another room with the proper king bed. Out of curiosity, I later checked their website and confirmed what I already suspected: there is no “super king” option—only double and king rooms. I brought this up again, and Valeria confirmed that I had in fact booked a king room, though she could not explain why her colleague had told me otherwise. Unfortunately, the entire exchange left me feeling misled and disappointed, especially since it seemed possible they were trying to hold rooms back for a large tour group arriving at the same time. Beyond this, both rooms we saw were poorly cleaned, the air conditioning did not function properly, and there was visible mold in the shower. Overall, the lack of service, questionable handling at the front desk, and poor room conditions overshadowed any positives. Sadly, I would not stay at this property again and cannot recommend Maldron Hotels to others.

The self checkin is unwelcoming and unnecessary. There was an alarm going off in the next door room at 6.45am and continued despite someone from reception coming to deal with it at 6.55am. The bed was uncomfortable - the mattress sank into the middle. Nice big room but not worth the money.

Great location, but the facade of the building is very nondescript and can easily be missed when driving. There is very little are or available area to pull out of traffic to unload, so be prepared to move quickly and please know large bags will be a detriment. Staff was incredibly welcoming and efficient. Hotel was clean, spacious room, gym was well equipped, and at check we paid for parking for a significant discount at the nearby City Hall parking garage. Overall very pleased. My only issue involved regulating the thermostat as the front desk managed it by timer and the amount to which you could regulate the temperature.

Location, location, location! We did not rent cars, we used Irish Train, Bus Tours, public transit, and mostly walking. Hotel close to everything, sights to see, restaurants, pubs, etc. We had a fantastic 4 days in Cork and area.

This is a great location to be in for a short trip to Cork. It was convenient to town and we walked the whole city. It was clean, safe, and had everything we needed. Would stay here again.

Great location in the middle of Cork. Room was lovely (although the view was just of an internal courtyard... Not that that mattered). Decent size room, comfy bed. Reception staff very helpful. Nice and quiet. Excellent breakfast! Restaurant nice too. Parking available at a good discounted rate in the nearby City Hall multistory. You can park outside for 15mins to drop bags though. Very convenient location. Walkable city. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area. You can walk from the train station to the hotel in about 14 minutes. The hotel is nice, clean and quiet at night. Amenities are great. We enjoyed the stay here.

Parking was available but a 15min walk away. The room window looked out at an old dirty wall about 2m away. The main issue however was the breakfast, the buffet was stone cold, the chafing dish looked like a relic and had tin can heating it with chemical smell. After adding on breakfast we ended up stop on the road for food.

Hotel staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent. We ordered room service 3 of the 5 nights we were there and every meal was incredibly delicious. But best of all the location was perfect! Very short (10 minutes or less) walking distance to lots of great restaurants, pubs and shopping. We even walked to the train station (only 12 minutes) to visit Cobh, a great seaside town just 1/2 hour ride from Cork.

It's the little things that make a stay, this place lacked those. No conditioner or shampoo. First Hotel in years over 3 continents that haven't supplied these basic items. We paid for 2 breakfasts knowing we had to leave early on the second day. No offer of a 'to go' breakfast or remove the one breakfast charge. Most places will do this little thing. So, average.

Lovely, modern hotel in great central location to explore Cork city. Staff were Lovely. Room was spotless and a good size. Restaurant meal was lovely. Breakfast was a buffet style. Lovely fresh food. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Air flow was very poor in our room. Small amenities like refillable water bottle stations were not available. Parking was tough around the building. Staff was friendly and location was fairly central to markets and shops in the area.
