Area surrounding hostel is major drug and homeless encampment. Payed for 5 nights left after 1st losing money. Room no window, no washhand basin,no where to stow/ hang clothing. TV did not have aerial. Communal showers mixed!. Only stayed 1st night as could not get another place. Looking for a cheap place for night? Try the station.

This property is in a drug zone of the Toronto. The room does not look anything like the pictures. The sheets were not clean. The floor was not clean. The AC did not work and the guy had to knock on all the neighboring rooms to get it working. Terrible experience. Do not book at this place.

This property needs to be removed from the Hotels.com site. This was our first hotel on an 8-day baseball trip starting in Toronto. We arrived, and the picture of the front of the hotel is nothing like the pictures. It has no place to pull in to register. We arrived and talked to Mo and Joe. They informed us the room we rented did not have a bathroom and it had a shared WC. They immediately said they could give us a room with a WC for an additional $50. We needed a room, so we paid the $50, and they required us to charge another $325. As you can see, we prepaid for this hotel through your service. We obtained a key, code, and FOB to get into the building, lobby, and our room. Once in the room, the A/C was a plug-in window unit. The TV did not work, and the bed touched the kitchenette. The bathroom was poor, to say the least. It had a Smail square shower that my wife would not go into. The kitchen had reused class jars of coffee grounds and sugar. NO coffee maker?

The place is run-down and old we got a room with two twin beds but we had to share a bed because the one bed was the creakiest bed I have ever seen my entire life. The walls were super thin and I could easily listen to everyone else's conversations. It may say there's a TV. But the tv is a fatback - round screen one and there isn't even a tv connection so it's useless. But the AC worked so that's good

The room was small, but, nice. The TV had no remote, and it only had two channels, one of which was static. The bed was comfortable, and the shared washrooms were nice and clean.

Dirty, no elevator on the third floor, bed looked dirty, only stayed because I had about 6 hours total from one airport to another but honestly never again.

Not a nicest place.i did not Have much expect that place and it was clean as it can be for so old building and rooms. Aircondisson was more like fan,really old and noisy and did not cool The room. Common areas was much cooler than room that Make me want to go sleep on Sofia there.

Sketchy part of town; it felt unsafe for our daughter. Fire alarm detector's low-battery beeping triggered our daughter :( Nice cleaning/maintenance staff. Person answering the phone was rude and sarcastic. Weird layout of area. No accessibility/Only stairs.

AC not working

It's exactly what I expected from a hostel. It's an older residence and in that is clean but outdated, I did not feel unsafe inside at any time and there were lots of washrooms so having the shared washrooms was not an issue I think the people rating zero stars have never stayed in a hostel and we're expecting a hotel

Room smelled of sweat, nothing felt clean, stained sheets, etc. We were supposed to stay here 5 nights and didn't even last one.

This place is not worth 1$ it’s so dirty and smell bad. I travel a lot I never see place dirty like that. They even try to change me 50$ usd to keep my suitcase for 1 hour before check in. That’s not a professional way . And they call themselves hotel them room is so small

My best friend routinely checks her beddings immediately upon entry of the room to be safe and found a dozen black spots at the seams of the most bottom bedsheets. Upon discovery, my friend did not feel comfortable staying there as she took photos and confided in her dad and public health under the suspicion that the spots were from bed bugs. When we went to the front desk, I stated that we would like to check out and I don’t need a refund, but that I do not want to be charged for a $300 deposit for black spots that were already there prior to our entry. The manager immediately asked where did we come from and twisted it as if we brought the bed bugs before he even sent any employee to check and/or verify our claim. My friend and I arrived separately but was there for no more than an hour, altogether. Even if the manager does not like being accused of uncleanliness, he should not be so rude to deflect it back to clients without any effort to compensate or make amends first. They later offered us to go to another room, but the damage was done. The service and attitude from the manager ruined any desire to ever come back and once I had confirmation that they won’t charge the deposit of $300, which may still happen by the likes of previous bad reviews… my friend decided that we ought to report the hotel to Public Health for an inspection. If the manager simply apologized, offered a different room, advised they won’t charge the deposit, then I would have just accepted the lost.

I paid for a room through Expedia for medical reasons for my friend taking care of her son, as there was a shortage of available rooms because of extra volume of sporting events coinciding with the life saving surgery of my friends son . After i paid for the room, my friend shared a live video from the room she was given the key to ( room 204 ) The bedding looked slept in, there was garbage in the waste basket, a used clear plastic cup and a shopping note on the table next to the microwave. The bathroom was adjacent to the shared washroom and the smell of what she described as urine and mildew mixed. she requested a different room which was a bit cleaner. She placed her food into the fridge , and went back to the hospital and ended up staying there overnight, afraid to walk tomthe hotel after dark. When she returned in the morning she found her food had spoiled due to a faulty refrigerator. She returned the key and requested my additional $300 deposit and checked out . a week later is when i received the reimbursement from St Lawrence Suites, coinciding with the original checkout date. I would seriously like to request a total refund not to mention some action tombe taken against St.Lawrence Suites for not providing a clean and safe place for anyone to reside whole attending her comatose son at St. Michael's. The front desk person was kinda pushy and the area around the hotel felt a little unsafe, especially since we were 2 women travelling together. The bathroom i could tell had not been cleaned properly before we got there s there was a gemstone stuck to the shower wall. The overall furnishing was also in rough condition and parts of the carpet in the hallway was coming off, making a tripping hazard when going down with luggage.

Poor. Nothing like the photos poor cleaning second hand furniture and the around area is not the fault of the owner but is bad and the carpet in the hall nasty

The property was clean although somewhat shabby. Shared bathroom was never a problem. There were several and at least one of them was always free. The staff was helpful when they were there but mostly the front desk was closed. The main issue was the many homeless people in the area.

Ubicación: céntrica pero en bloque donde había muchos vagabundos. Check in: nada rápido y hacen llenar un formato a mano con datos que ya se habían colocado en la aplicación. Habitación: muy básica para el precio tan elevado, pequeña, vieja y medianamente limpia. Lo peor: el colchón tenía plástico!!! El refrigerador colocado en una base de unicel. Se escuchan las pisadas del piso superior. Ofrecen televisión por cable pero tienes que pagar por ella. Parece hostal más que hotel, no lo recomiendo.

Our room was clean which was appreciated, but the property did feel a bit run down for the amount of money we paid given the extremely small space of the room. There was also a lot of drug activity near the property which made us nervous travelling to and from the property. It was an appreciated place to stay for this trip but I will highly likely not return due to the neighborhood and small rooms.

AC not working

While I consider it small & pricey for a shared bathroom booking, it was clean, comfortable & quiet. It was also well-positioned for reaching downtown Toronto including the St. Lawrence market and the shopping center. I found buses and trains quite accessible. Great for short stays!

The front desk gentleman was super helpful and very kind

Very average, plus side is that you’re near/in downtown toronto. I only stayed 1 night, for me it was fine. you might want to upgrade if you need more comfort. They do charge a 300$ « in case of damages », that should be reimbursed within 1 week. This remains to be seen.

These reviews are hilarious. Have you people never traveled before? You get what you pay for, and this is the most affordable hotel room in the area. It is 1/3 of the price of the hotel across the street. Great. It isn't the Royal York. Tiny rooms, outdated furnishings, shared bathrooms. But it is cheap! Yes, they take a deposit off your credit card, but it is returned in a few days. No problems. Wasn't a scam. This hotel is exactly what it says it is. It was safe and clean enough. Best value for money in the area. I'll be back.

Je n’ai jamais été à cette place ….. quand je suis arrivé…. Trop itinérant et drogue à cette place et aucune place à ce stationner et quand j’ai appeller …. La personne au bout de la ligne ne parle même pas anglais ou presque …. J’espère ne pas être chargé pour cette chambre ? 819 279-7533

A decent place to stay on a budget close enough to St Lawrence market. A little close to the Salvation Army as well. Was relatively quiet stay in a clean facility. It's also good for longer term stays as it has the kitchen and set up. Will be on my list for future stays. Definitely you have to go to MYSTIC MUFFIN for breakfast spreads and sandwiches, cuz this is a hidden gem in the area. @Mysticmuffin . Very good prices and amazing food, and the owner is a pretty good character. Suggest trying the banana bread with blueberries, as that is freshly made. And the bagels are amazing.

The hotel is placed in a bad part or town. There was hyperdermic needles on the side walk just outside the door, with a male possibly over dosing. There were more needles in the parking lot. The room had an in window AC unit that had board surrounding it but had chunks missing so you could clearly see outside. Not a safe neighbor. The hotel is dingey and you do t get your own bathroom it is shared.

This was not a pleasant stay, area felt unsafe. Far too much odd furniture in room. Front of hotel boarded up. Outside ad says budget accommodation, that’s not how it’s advertised on Expedia. Would not recommend, we’ve put it down to a bad, expensive experience.
