I stayed here to break up a journey from London to Scotland as I was leaving late in the evening and this was close to the M6. Room was quite large and bed comfortable, only downside was that the smart TV in the room wasn't working but that didn't bother me so just reported it when leaving. I went for a swim in the on-site pool in the morning and it wasn't too busy.

I received parking ticket of £60 when it should be free for people staying in the hotel. When i checked in,I provided my reg details but still get a fine letter. I tried to contact the hotel reception but they are not picking up and can't leave a voicemail. Very frustrated.

I found the room i had was very small and bathroom had very little room to move and put your stuff down . They need a shelf to put all your cosmetics. However it is reflected in the price. the pool and sauna and steam room very very good. breakfast was like a good overall buffet but items were in hot buffet were lukewarm, to be honest similar to many hotels. staff are generally polite and efficient. would use it again overall. parking is free.

Grotty looking building. No elevator, had to drag suitcases up several flights of stairs & along multiple long corridors to room. Worse nights sleep at a hotel ever, the beds are rock hard & so uncomfortable had a sore hip when I left. The bathroom was clean and modern. Wish I had booked a Premier Inn instead, will never book a Holiday Inn stay ever again.

The hotel is good. Breakfast was very good quality with lots of variety. Disappointed the jacuzzi wasn’t working in the spa as this was the only reason I booked this hotel. I feel a bit ripped off as they could have emailed me to let me know this and I would have changed it

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the M6 but it is extremely confusing to get to off the M6 because of the road layout. When we (finally) arrived the property is ok - a little run down and no elevator (not ideal with luggage). Claims to be pet friendly but there is a £15 surcharge

Just a stop on journey.. hotel needs a better road sign and directions. Car park is charged but adding reg is good. Beer is expensive. Customer services are good. Breakfast is good, always replaced asap. Shower room is small. Could do with being bigger.

Very decent hotel with very friendly staff. Rooms generally fairly clean. Bathroom very nice and modern looking. The double beds look a bit small especially for a big/tall person. And would have preferred the bed to be a bit more comfortable (but definitely manageable). Strong and reliable (free) WiFi in the room. Gym and swimming pool complimentary - loved these.

The staff at check in were just lovely and made the stay very enjoyable. We arrived late at night and so it was straight to bed. The shower unfortunately had a big clump of hair attached to the shampoo bottle which was a little off putting and not something you expect to see. However overall it was a quick and convenient stay and we were very grateful for free parking and breakfast.

Room was stuffy and aircon useless- staff swapped my room which was good. Restaurant good for breakfast but zero atmosphere over dinner - food was expensive for what it was so at in the Basmati Restaurant just 5’ walk from hotel which was v.good

The Aircon was not working in both rooms, we were offered a free breakfast for our room, but not my daughters room when they had the same issue, but the breakfast was cold and greasy when I got it, had to have the window open to cool the room, but then had the issue with noise!! So not a good sleep

Me and my family stayed at holiday inn for a couple nights, overall everything was good l, comfy beds, spacious room and cleaned everyday, location is great. The main issue was the room cards not working properly and having to get them reset every night, and then the ac stopped working randomly.

Stayed here for an exam and it was a disaster - intermittent wifi issues which were unfixable meant the whole exam was cancelled leaving 100 angry people not knowing whats happening. The hotel should not agree to such arrangements knowingly with dodgy wifi cutting in and out. Promised a refund by reception for the additional night stay I no longer required as the day two exam was also cancelled but have not yet received anything. I will be following up. Aside from that, the room itself was fine

The rooom was very cold, the window couldn't be closed because it was broken. The air-conditioning was releasing cold air whether chosen high pr low temperature. I tried to complain to front desk staff but they never answer the phone i don't know do it deliberate by not answering guests phone calls or not. I went down to ask some one.for help there was no one at the front desk it was very disappointing

On arrival, we found the window wide open. With the outside temperature at 0° it was not at all comfortable in the room. We closed the window, and I turned on the heating, however, all it did was blow cold. I upped the temperature to 26°, still it would only blow cold.

Despite a somewhat lengthy time to check in, with room being reallocated as our original room wasn't yet ready, Friday night was a pleasant evening and good nights sleep. However, Saturday night was terrible. Unbeknownst to us, there was an all night Soul music event booked into one of the function rooms, so people talking loudly in the adjacent rooms and corridor, slamming of doors happening regularly, ALL NIGHT LONG.

Stayed in quite a few holiday inns with work so was expecting the usual high standard room's. Check-in was a little faff as the receptionist couldn't get the card handset to work for a while, had to restart a few time's. Room was clean and tidy as normal, however the thermostat dial on the shower didn't work, so the water was either scorching or scorching. Also no channels available on TV. Appreciate it was probably a localised issue to a room. Did raise at reception as arrived at midnight and gone at 8am, so sleep was more important than faffing changing rooms etc

We booked 2 rooms for 2 adults and 4 kids. We mentioned at booking we need connecting rooms. we called the hotel directly and were told no problem. Then the day before we called again and were told that's fine rooms are available and they will ensure we receive the request. On the day we arrive 15 min early and at check in told no connecting rooms were available. To make matters worse we received two rooms on different floors. One room had no sofa bed made so we had to call and wait hours to get this done. The hallways were filthy with dirty nappies and food left outside room. Never again

2 nights in a row we put a breakfast order on the door for room service. Both weren’t taken. We made reception aware first night and asked for them to check as we will be placing it again to be told ‘of course, night staff can’t do their job’. Everything was great with the hotel. On the final night of our stay my card declined and the bar staff took me to reception where they randomly asked if we had booked our registration in for parking? I replied no? We didnt know we had too? We were not told to on check in? To which a receptionist entered the conversation and said "you would have been told and she then pointed to cards on the desk" she was extremely unprofessional and aarogant! I informed her it was dark when we checked in and we where not inforned by the receptionist at the time. 2 other colleagues of hers apologised. This has resulted in me cancelling next weeks reservation and we have found other arrangements

The hotel is ok but expensive for what it provides. I struggled to check in stood waiting but no explanation give. I believe the computers had crashed. No explanation no apology. Bar service was poor. Luckily found an excellent Harvester very nearby. Would not stay here again.

I would recommend this hotel so much! Stayed here for a concert and it was great. At first there was a slight issue as I had booked two rooms and only one room was found on file, however our server quickly sorted it and made sure we had two rooms. Breakfast was great, we were greeted by a friendly lady who showed us around and there was plenty to eat, especially for me as I am vegan and it was refreshing to have plenty of options. Great value for money, impressed by the great price, can’t fault it!

This was a dreadful experience, only alleviated by the exceptional staff who worked very hard to overcome the managements limitations. 2 large groups in dining room and bar. 30 mins to get a drink. The noise level was dreadful and the few members of staff were run off their feet . Very convenient location for M6 and comfortable beds but wouldn't return

Lovely welcome and really felt looked after, wonderful pool and facilities always staffed by friendly and welcoming people. Lovely room with comfortable bed and sofa bed, loved the breakfast too, will definitely come back again

A bit too basic for a holiday inn. The bar staff were moody during evening service and the tablet style ordering system was making them busy and unable to deal with people standing at the bar - it was a bit odd. No harm done - just odd. Lots of food delivery people in and out of reception too - just made it feel a bit low budget; without the low budget price tag!

I honestly cant rate the staff at this hotel enough they went above and beyond to help . Rooms where clean and tidy food was good large selection at breakfast. Overall id say well worth the money and id most definitely book here again

I stayed here to break up a journey from London to Scotland as I was leaving late in the evening and this was close to the M6. Room was quite large and bed comfortable, only downside was that the smart TV in the room wasn't working but that didn't bother me so just reported it when leaving. I went for a swim in the on-site pool in the morning and it wasn't too busy.

Stayed for one night - twin room. Was off to Utilita Arena the hotel was a short drive away, which was handy. Larger free carpark, Friendly professional receptionist and a easy quick check in. Room outstandingly clean. Comfy bed. Hair dryer, iron and ironing board in room. Adequate size bath room, nice and bright with lovely smelling hotel hand wash / body wash. Free wifi and great size TV in room. Good choice of breakfast to choose from - plenty to fill you up for the day 😄 I would recommend this hotel and hopefully will stay again in the future.

Safe quiet hotel location. Friendly helpful staff. Hotel getting a bit tired looking in the corridors. room was good spacious enough & comfortable. No lift in hotel so always check wheelchair accessibility rooms are available before booking & make sure a request for one is in the comment box when booking It’s on the outskirts of Birmingham & location is quite isolated so you definitely need a car to get around as there’s no public transportation links

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the M6 but it is extremely confusing to get to off the M6 because of the road layout. When we (finally) arrived the property is ok - a little run down and no elevator (not ideal with luggage). Claims to be pet friendly but there is a £15 surcharge

This hotel is everything you'd expect from a holiday inn. Its clean, quiet and has what you need. We only had a short stay, so not too much to say really. Despite being on a busy road, you dont experience too much noise, and i had the window open all night

The hotel is your standard Holiday Inn guess the buildings are from 70s maybe 80s. All looks very dated from outside. It’s a hotel by the motorway and that’s what you get. Room was nicely modernised so no complaints there. Had food in the bar and it was pretty fine. Used the gym which was fine. Continental breakfast is well priced and plenty of choice - the girl welcoming guests to breakfast was very pleasant.

Room was stuffy and aircon useless- staff swapped my room which was good. Restaurant good for breakfast but zero atmosphere over dinner - food was expensive for what it was so at in the Basmati Restaurant just 5’ walk from hotel which was v.good

Average all round. New bar ordering service is slow. Food cheap but average. Room ok, but bathroom was lacking. Poor shower, riser rail far to low. What's with the German style toilets? :)

I found the room i had was very small and bathroom had very little room to move and put your stuff down . They need a shelf to put all your cosmetics. However it is reflected in the price. the pool and sauna and steam room very very good. breakfast was like a good overall buffet but items were in hot buffet were lukewarm, to be honest similar to many hotels. staff are generally polite and efficient. would use it again overall. parking is free.

The ordering process in the restaurant is very poor. They are trying to be clever with tablets, which then add a non discretionary service charge on. Service charges should always be discretionary, it’s an extra payment for good service. Not an upfront charge, before you have even been served, or spoken to a member of staff. I agree with tipping, but only for good service, because someone was good at their job and made you feel wanted and appreciated. Not because the hotel is too cheap to pay a good living wage, they force there customers to supplement their staffs income, good service or not.

Great hotel and staff. Room was clean and had everything you would need. Unfortunately the food in the restaurant was terrible. It tasted like the chef had chucked a gallon of salt over everything. I would stay again for the hotel and staff however I’ll definitely be eating elsewhere.

Awful experience at this hotel- no working aircon in the room we were placed in. Staff gave us a dust filled fan to use. Uncomfortable bed and poorly maintained rooms. I will never stay at a holiday inn again.

We booked this hotel as it was advertised as having air conditioning yet upon arrival we found that both of our rooms did not and they were like a sauna - so hot with one tiny window that didn't let much air through. We were advised that there were no fans available either which meant for a very sleepless first night. On the second night we were moved to rooms that we were told had air conditioning yet upon moving one had working air con and the other didnt, but we were able to at least have a fan on this occasion. One of the rooms we were upgraded to was listed as a 'premium' room but was exactly the same as our previous non-premium room. The hotel swimming pool complex was dated and didnt look the cleanest of facilities. The hotel reception staff were very friendly though and tried to make the best of the situation.

Great breakfast variety and options for vegans. The amenities of swimming pool and sauna and fitness room are great additions which were welcomed. The location, proximity to Birmingham and motorway network and free parking was good. However the building needs renovation upgrade. The toilet in the bedroom had faulty cistern, the sink was blocked. No fridge in bedrooms and air conditioning was not working in all rooms. Lastly security was compromised with a broken side door which allowed access into the hotel day and night the duration of my stay. Which lets the hotel down. So overall a decent hotel but need to address maintenance issues to be much better
