When you have found this pearl, you will not need other options. Fantastic stay. We had to stays of four nights and one night, both a success. Very nice rooms/bungalows. Lovely pool. Nice staff. Great location. We tried the rooms as well as the bungalows and will ŕecommend paying that little extra for the bunglow with an electric grill and a small kitchen.

The rooms are clean and tidy. The AC works well and the amenities are maintained in an excellent state. I appreciated the onsite secure parking and proximity to Darwin CBD. The concierge desk is open 24 hours, however the phones are rarely anwered during work hours. I left voice messages with my questions. It took a few days for someone to get back to me, and they were helpful.

The good - brand new rooms as the hotel is just finishing its renovations, great layout for my family (triple share). Lovely pool. Walking distance to Main Street and lots of dinner/food options. Very reasonably priced. Comfy beds, daily cleaning of rooms. What needs to be noted - it’s noisy as the rooms back onto Darwin Hotel, music until 10pm each night, however quiet after that. Better locks on the doors are needed. Parking - there’s only one small carpark and if that’s full you need to pay for street or other parking. A number of the rooms are upstairs (no lift) so if you have any kind of mobility impairment, large suitcases or young kids i would suggest noting you need a ground floor room.

This is a Beauty an Oasis in a City CBD - Lovely Gardens and well maintained/updated. Just a little compact in the room and the placement of dwellings but still feels private with the way these are orientated and being surrounded by the Tropical gardens. Only thing is you cannot park close to your room so you have a little walk. Staff lovely and helpful. Supermarkets, retail and restaurants within comfortable walking distance.

Resort is in an awesome location for walking to the CBD shops or the Waterfront precinct (for dining). Lovely gardens and breakfast was great value. Stayed in a garden bungalow -very quiet & great aircon. Only criticism would be that pool is a little small -would have been great if separate adults & children"s pool. Certainly stay here again if we get back to Darwin.

The room clearly was not cleaned very well, we also contacted scabies. Upon my return home I tried contacting them to discuss my concern but was not contacted back, clearly they got my money and care factor was 0

Excellent staff on reception - room cleaning service was mixed - excellent some days, other days it was left as if it had been rushed - part made beds but was always left clean. The Harbour Villa was well equipped with a great balcony area - some traffic noise around 8am for 30 mins but the view over esplanade/sea was fantastic. The extended use of the room for 2 hours until midday was appreciated but AU$50 was a little excessive for such a short extention

This is one of my favourite properties in Darwin. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Bathroom is compact but excellent. Nothing like a great shower at the end of the day. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was available and plentiful. Will definitely stay here again.

Nice renovated room and very clean. Friendly staff and parking was easy. Breakfast was ok. When I arrived at the buffet it was already out of a lot of options half an hour before closing time. There was some noise from the bar/pub just behind the hotel (not all rooms are having this issue). In any case the hotel is very nice just some smaller issues that could be solved easily.

Rooms are small but the balcony slightly compensates for this. But there are no knives if cutting meat or vegetables, just dinner knives. Cleaners left me a little disappointed. One pillowcase had a spot of red possible blood on it and was not changed throughout our stay. I question if the linen was changed between guests. We were left emptying our own bin on 1 occasion as food scraps were making the room smell. the worst thing of the stay is that smokers are allowed to smoke on the balcony which made my stay very unpleasant, as the smoke drifted from the Neighbours balcony. I complained but was not compensated that I already had four days of distress not being able to eat on our own balcony. Car parking near your room is only available to those in a more expensive bungalow. Otherwise, you take your chances with free off-street parking and if none available you have to park on the street. When you have a rental car parking on the street is distressing. the garden is very lush but very overgrown on the paths and you found yourself ducking and weaving to avoid getting hit in the eye with some plant. Pool id great and close to all rooms but again we were overcome with cigarette smoke from rooms close to the pool. It felt like you could never get away from cigarette smoke. I doubt I would stay again but if I did, I would need to have a bungalow that was separate from others, which is more expensive. I would not recommend this accommodation to any non-smokers.

Location we found it easy to get to transport, tourist attractions, and restaurants. We had a unit with an outdoor spa which was great to cool off in the evenings. We did find the unit was a tight fit, bathroom door hit the bed when you opened it. There was limited space for luggage and storing clothes as we were there for over a week. The location and spa were the best features. The staff were friendly and helpful. The resort was going through renovations to the eating area but the location to other options was great.

Reception, pool and general service were all OK. Room was tired but functional. Biggest issue by far was the noise. Street noise, cars coming and going at all ours, people yelling just outside our villa. Also hotel and event music until early hours of the morning. To top it off the watering system came on each night for approx 30 minutes which had a water hammer issue, so very noisy in the villa while it was on.

Paid top dollar for best room with private pool, no privacy whatsoever, people walking past, and there is a lot, can and do see straight in. Who puts all their best rooms next to a main road, The road traffic is next level loud even inside with doors shut. Antisocial behaviour coming from the park across the road and those walking past made you feel unsafe and not want to sit outside to enjoy your holiday. Room was refurbished and clean, pool was also great and the rainforest look they are going for was lovely.

Room was lovely, only stayed one night due to flight the next day. We had a bungalow room which had its own bbq. Faced the pool. We stayed here 10 years ago and standard was still as good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Definately recommend.

As a long term customer of the resort when we requested a refund due to a flight cancellation just a few hours before our flight was due to leave the resort didn’t accommodate our request. Very disappointing customer service especially when I’ve been staying at the Palm City Resort for the last 8 years when holidaying in Darwin. Will now choose another property as there was no interest in looking after long term customers.

The room itself was clean and tidy. Nice shower. Beds were comfortable but a little on the short side. Unfortunately, the people in the room next door were a nightmare. Yelling and arguing until 4 in the morning. The hotel staff did eventually remove them. I have stayed here before and never had any issues like this. It was a pity this happened because it spouled what could have been a nice weekend

I stayed here for two days, went up to Kakadu for a short break. I had intended to stay back here for two days but when I asked to store my large bag while I was away, they said no. I contacted the Oaks and they couldn’t have been more helpful. I am enjoying my two nights here and saving $110 in the process. Nothing wrong with the hotel, just their attitude!

We booked a room with the spa outside, rooms are great. The spa next to us had the equipment in our area and it was so noisy we couldn’t sit outside. Also they were on the road side which weekends were quiet but during the week extremely busy and noisy. Also wasn’t very private people could still see through the fence. Staff were helpful and property was well kept. Great walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Simply the best choice in Darwin! An oasis in the city centre. We stayed twice at this resort, first in a room, which was god, and second time in a bungalow, which was even better - and definitely worth the little extra cost. There is a kitchentte inside and an electric grill on the porch, which we were happy to use. The resort is close to the harbour front and shops including a supermarket and a liquor shop. We hope to come back!

Beautiful property in a perfect location. Within a quick walk to market, restaurants. Awesome staff. Very clean and comfortable. Only part that wasn’t great was the noise from next door /bar. They stop at midnight I think but otherwise, great stay.

Fabulous property, perfectly located on Esplanade, short walk to CBD/waterfront. Immaculately clean, lovely pool area, super friendly and helpful staff, quiet, we stayed in a bungalow which had its own private deck, my only issue is cost during peak season otherwise highly recommend and would definitely stay again

Great location, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable ( garden bungalow) rooms were small, the breakfast was not up to standard, only fried eggs, often cold, buffet breakfast. We ate out in the end. We loved the pool and gardens, next time we will try the standard rooms which seem to have more room and king size bed.

Our Garden Bungalow at Palms City was an ideal base to explore the city and area. In an excellent location for walking to the main areas of interest the resort is a lovely green oasis in contrast to the high rise hotels around. Our Garden Bungalow was comfortable, well equipped and spacious with a good balcony area where we ate our meals. As it happened we didn’t use the pool but it looked good and seemed quite lively. Disappointed though that the one time we decided to use the (limited hours) pool bar they had run out of cocktails 😕 That’s why I marked service down from 5*. We hadn’t booked breakfast and didn’t use the dining area but it seemed well used and looked good. Overall really pleased we stayed here and would definitely be our first choice for a return to Darwin
