Convenience to restaurants, tourist attractions and transport. Rooms were clean and tidy. The pool was pretty small and in the shade a fair amount of the day but that could be good on hot days. Modern foyer with a vending machine.

Loving the 24/7 gym ! Its a bonus for gym lover which the gym is massive and have all the facilities for a body builder. Loved the hotel and the cleaniess.

Disappointing that the so called pool was not designed to suit all people. If people were disabled even in a simple way, it would be a challenge for them to use it as no railing on the steps. But, apart from the pool, the staff were pleasant and the rooms clean.

Didn't like that parking wasn't included in the price, had to pay an extra $10 a night to park in safe and convenient place. Also had to pay an extra $100 up front, which you get back at the end of your stay if everything is ok with the room. They do check the room before you leave and yes I got back all the money but if you don't know in advance it can drain your finances.

Dirty shower, corners of room coated in filth. Air conditioner mouldy & choaked in dust. Very moist Thur, Fri, Sat night with “doof doof” music from Mitchell Street. Not a 4 star hotel.

The dirtiest hotel I have EVER stayed in and no response from management. Cockroach infested, filthy and absolutely no excuse for such a revolting standard of cleanliness. Nothing extra is done historically to do anything to clean other than make the bed, clean the bathroom… no response from management in my 3 night stay and had no choice but to stay as everything was booked out… No wonder tourism is dropping in Darwin… this experience would put anyone off.

Unfortunately, the soundproofing in the room was very poor. I could clearly hear people talking and doors slamming in the hallway around 2-3 a.m., which made it difficult to sleep. I could also hear footsteps and movement from the room above. If you're a light sleeper, this might be an issue. Everything else is fine.

Centrally located this hotel is close to shops and places to eat. We had a two bedroom apartment which was very spacious and good value. The washing-machine was leaking and the staff quickly located us to the next door apartment which was appreciated. While the rooms seem fairly new, there is wear and tear in places. Would stay again as it's hard to find affordable apartment options in the CBD for families.

Room was reasonably but noisy as it backed onto the entertainment area or Darwin. Even noise cancelling headphones couldn’t keep out the music which, we were offered another room but told Darwin is noisy on Friday and Saturday nights and all rooms will be the same !!

You can’t beat staying at the Darwin City Hotel. Awesome staff, very helpful, very knowledgeable and very friendly. The Mitel is spotless all the time. I never stay anywhere else except at the Darwin City Hotel.

I am extremely disappointed with this property. My room was not in the same building, they used a building at the back which is part of a Hostal , with the hostel name and every. I questioned the receptionist who was not helpful at all and I end up staying at the hostel room,but with the hotel rate . Disappointed that Hostels allow this type of thing to happen

No remotes working for car park so hope someone else is leaving to get in t first Staff member told me that a remote will be available “tomorrow’ …come tomorrow, same thing and told if wait in room will have one in 15 minutes brought to room (i just wanted to shower and go out, but ok) 30 minutes pass and no one, so go back to reception and told by same staff member that is on his way and please give him 10 more minutes as is getting a remote ….. 40 minutes pass so back to reception…. No remote and he has gone home for the day so had to go through all again with another) turns out the person in above is actually the “manager” so wow, great service example as you would have thought the lest you could do is communicate even if bad news not just leave a Guest waiting and go home I dont think the shower seat in the bathroom has ever been cleaned and wish now that i took a pic of the disgusting filth on it This was all after debacle check in, safe in room broken, and amenities in room nothing like shown on booking and hardly functional “desk” etc

The room was perfectly comfortable except the Expedia property details revealed facilities including a restaurant. There was no opportunity for dining at all or even a cup of coffee. The staff, while polite, did not offer any suggestions to cover this obvious lack. I think 4 star is a massive overreach. Otherwise the location was ok and walking distance to the waterfront.
