This was an excellent stay for us. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They used to clean our rooms twice a day which was brilliant. The swimming pool facilities were very good as well. We got an airport pick up as a part of our room package. The transport provided was very good.

Everything was exceptional. We appreciated the upgrade at 5am in the morning. Raja was wonderful for showing us around and securing goggles for us for the beautiful swimming pool. Everyone was wonderful. Food was great and rooms beautiful. Truly exceptional.

The Taj met all of my expectations and way beyond. From the Senior Manager to the Duty Manager Mrs Urva all was splendid. Chu at the spa is an incredible masseuse. I felt extremely relaxed. The gentleman Kishan who serves tea is so effulgent with his smile and loving attitude. I must say my favorite person was Birmal Darnal. He was so animated and made me feel so welcome. Rooms are getting old. I have been staying at these property for many years and all my trips to Kolkata. But the rooms I have been originally given in Taj Club floor was very poor and old. The next day, I was shifted to the renovated room. But still the room and bathroom is not upto the Taj Standard. The Taj club was renovated as well but got smaller. Overall, my experience was not as par to many many previous experience

It is an excellent colonial style property, beautiful Taj ambiance, well maintained lawns, great dining options and exceptional service from ALL staff. Arijeet at Junction x, Rajesh in housekeeping, and Anirban at Cal 27 consistently went over and beyond. The hotel carpet and certain other furnishings need urgent remodeling, but there was nothing else that I can fault.

Easily one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. Impeccable service and standards. We stayed at three hotels in Kolkata for our trip and this was the clear winner for us. The staff were very helpful and courteous and made us feel very welcome. Everyone from the concierge, house keeping, fnb services and the Taj club were so welcoming and accommodating. A shout out to Bimal, Kishan, Rajesh and the team we met in the Taj Club for their impeccable hospitality. There was a particular lady from the Taj Club that really stood out from the rest but unfortunately we didn't get her name. Defintiely would stay here again!

Service for the lunch was horrible, half of the order was forgotten and came very late. Breakfast was terribly busy. They sent us to another place, swearing it was exactly the same. But they lied and we came back after a while to get normal breakfast. In sum up Hotel need refurbish Rooms need to be cleaned properly. And staff need training and profesionalism.

The stay was enjoyable and the customer service was impeccable. The only issue was the damp and mould smell in the room including the bed linens and pillows. It triggered allergies and we coughed and sneezed throughout our stay. We got an air purifier that helped a little.

Overall staff services are excellent. Hotel lobby look grand but the rooms to have some renovation. It very old and the room design I would say very not match. Housekeeping team need to improve the cleanliness, found previous guest hairs still in the room floor and toilet.

Checked id booked a car to airport three times during stay and got told yes yet when I attended reception at 0545 they weren’t aware of a specific booking which I had done 3 times. Very frustrating. Not up to the standards of other Taj hotels

We have stayed for almost a week before taking a short break and planning to return for another week. The hospitality is what sets Taj Bengal apart from the rest of the innumerable 5 star hotels. Everyone is eager to please, immensely respectful and welcoming. The concierge Mr. Sanjib Ghosh has done the impossible of even getting me a premium ticket for an international India – England T20, cricket match against all odds. The night manager Mr. Tanmoy was able to extend my stay for 2 additional nights (in a full hotel!), the sous chef Kavita was attentive to everyone and the morning buffet breakfast was so enjoyable. The main restaurant Sonargaon is par excellence in ambience, decor and food, albeit a bit expensive. This is truly one of the best Bengali restaurant I have ever been to. We didn’t use the gym or the spa. But again, what sets the Taj apart is the hospitality which money cannot buy in America.

The service is absolutely exceptional. Every member of the staff has a pleasant smile and a heartfelt “Namaste” no matter whether you are in the dining areas, hallways or poolside. I booked The Taj for 5 star services, however i was disappointed how they handled communication where i ended up paying Rs 7000. If you need transportation services to or from hotel please take it carefully. When i brought this concern to hotel they mention they will bring this to their staff members and nothing has been reported yet. Not worth this place !!

The staff are amazing. I contacted the concierge several times to ask for information and to arrange airport transfers and a city tour and they responded quickly. There was always someone there to help if I had any questions. Sanjib, the concierge, was superb and came and found me to check everything was OK and to ask if there was anything else I wanted to do. My driver Aftab was excellent. A very good driver and companion in the car. Also Debojyoti on the travel desk made sure everything happened on time and as planned. An excellent stay. Would recommend for the level of service.

Surrounded by greenery this property is close to Park Street and Victoria Memorial right opposite Zoo. This makes it convenient for work and pleasure activities. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Food is awesome. Indeed one of the best places to stay in Kolkata.

The hotel is walking distance from the Victoria memorial and the metro station on the blue line. It is however regrettable that maintenance falls behind in places which is unfortunately a let down in a hotel of its class.
