The staff were incredibly helpful, the property was spotless, the amenities were amazing! The pool and sauna were fabulous, the games room and provided surf equipment were fun perks that made our stay special. We had an amazing family stay at Cumberland and will definitely go again!

Location is great, rooms are well sized, beds are comfy but the standout are the newly renovated pools! Large main pool, spa and a kids pool (waist deep for our 3 and 5yr olds) that also has a fountain in the middle. Kids would’ve been swimming all day if we let them. Only bad thing is they close at 6pm… 8pm would be ideal

sea view, just walk down special secret stairs and you are in the middle of Lorne’s bustle. The only thing is pool was boarded off and not available for kids.

We rented a two bedroom suite with an ocean view. The view was beautiful, the rooms were a bit dated and mould on the bathroom on the shower grouting - nothing major but not exactly luxury. The one issue was making the non-refundable booking and after that was made being told that the pool was shut for refurb. Would be much better to put this information out before the booking is confirmed- as that was not obvious to me beforehand.

Nice views are the main positives. Bed was comfy and clean sheets. Property is not worth the money we paid. We had a penthouse 2 bedroomed apartment. The accomodation is VERY dated, dirty in places and ready for a refurb.

Reception staff were super polite, however cleaners need to spend a little more time in the rooms. Our room was dusty, walls were stained, rubbish found from previous guests and food under the sofa. Booked the Ellis room thinking it was the renovated one but it didn't look like the pictures. View was great of the ocean and hotel was located perfectly in walking distance to all restaurants and amenities

Bad smell in unit when we first walked in. We discovered it after 24hrs. Smell coming from drain tray on the back of the fridge with rotten milk in it. Can’t fault the amount of towels for unit. Had to wait quite awhile at reception to get pool towels. No one at front reception to check out.

We had a 2 bedroom apartment. It was very clean, quiet and spacious. The only downside was the beds weren’t very comfortable. We could feel every spring in the mattress. Maybe a pillow top would help fix the problem. Otherwise very happy with the room.

The apartment had almost everything you need. Well equipped in all areas, comfy bed and pillows. Stunning views of the ocean, even from the shower! Excellent kitchen, dining, lounge area. It was super clean albeit for a few cobwebs in the bedroom, and only real concern overall was the bedroom needed blackout curtains. The safety lights outside on stairs and balcony remained on overnight, naturally, but made the bedroom very bright. A really fantastic apartment.

On arrival reception staff dismissed my wife even after she provided a booking number and was told "we don't know what happens with those online bookings" even after she tried to show her the email FROM THE ACTUAL CUMBERLAND HOTEL. The hotel itself is also really dated and needs an upgrade. Showers inside a spa bath need to be replaced with walk in showers amongst other things.

Service was particularly poor - the Wednesday receptionist was unprofessional, and our room service request on day two was never fulfilled. The pool experience was unacceptable. The resort wasn’t as expected as shown in the pics. The staff who checked us in ignored the request to come check the room heater and we were left cold the whole night in a cold rainy night. Next morning when went down at the reception, and explained the situation again, the lady at the reception insisted us check again as the rooms and the aircons are quite old and takes at least 10 mins to turn on. She completely ignored the fact that we tried sorting it out the whole evening. So we did what we were asked to do, then we called reception to explain the situation again. It’s then a lovely lady came to our room to check the aircon and she confirmed that she wasn’t able to fix the issue and they don’t have a maintenance person to sort it out and gave us two small heaters to use which weren’t enough but better than nothing. So basically we paid to stay in the resort to stay in the blankets in the living area. We would have better stayed home for our long weekend.

We stayed on a Saturday night in a corner suite. This was over the road from a Hotel and was very noisy until after midnight. Had we been aware of this we would have asked to stay in another room, although every other room was booked out. Other than that, the hotel was lovely.

- close to beach - close to local restaurants and shops along the Main Street - can get pretty loud if there is an event at Lorne hotel - amenities are great - car parking spots are a little tight but if you have a small car no issue - beach view was great - would 100 % stay here again
