The first room that I was offered had an extremely offensive smell and when I asked to be moved the staff member wanted to know what the smell was. It smelled like animal faces that had been covered up with lots of cleaning products. I asked to see another room which didn’t have a smell at all which I took. The glasses and spoons in the room were all dirty. The mattress was extremely hard so I took the blanket out of the cupboard to fold up and put under the underlay in the hopes that it would soften the bed. The blanket was stained and extremely dirty. When I showered the tap cover fell off the shower. The staff were nice and kind. I feel the Hotel needs a whole renovation and new bedding and that the cleaners do their job properly.

Property was old looking at the back, needs painting and repairing, rooms where large, bathroom dirty with mould in shower, Parking was great and secure, inside main areas was clean reception, guest lounge area-looks like the floor has never been cleaned or mopped, dirt stains on the floor

Convenient for going to concerts at the Palais theatre. Studio room had everything we needed. Quiet even with windows open. Nice to be able to open them. Bath/shower could do with a good scrub, but otherwise clean.

Very old building, with very old fittings. Nothing like the pictures. Cramped bathroom, and visible scum line around bath (not fully cleaned). Sink blocked and not draining properly. Old TV and noisy walkways due to old metal balconies. Plus points are quality bed, and good location. Wouldn't stay again.

We had an apartment which was clean & spacious. Well overdue for upgrading the TV's as they are so old & new ones are so cheap. They need mats in the bath as it is very slippery & could face big costs if someone falls in the shower. Bed needs a good topper as they are a bit lumpy and hard. Overall not bad for the price & location was excellent.

No major problems other than the internet being slow. I was only getting about 7mbps which had me struggling to work remotely. Also, as others have mentioned, the kitchenware is shabby. The plates aren’t even microwave safe, so be careful. The microwave is the most ridiculous model I have ever encountered, and the refrigerator is just a mini-fridge despite there being enough room for a full size. Still, everything was doable, and the hotel is in a pretty convenient location.

The property is in a perfect location to access Acland St and the Palais Theatre. The availability of secure parking is fantastic and removes a lot of stress caused by on-street parking only. Unfortunately the TV reception was quite poor, and the bathroom fittings could do with a makeover, plus there was no in-room safe for valuables. The bed however, was very comfortable

Fantastic location for getting into city centre by tram ( great value) Also sight seeing in and around the Melbourne area. Conveniently located very near the water front watching the sun go down is a must. Also near the Palais Theatre and for those wanting fun Luna Park. Nice roomy room with great facilities

With a great location close to both St Kilda Beach, the restaurants and The National Theatre - it had been a while’s since I last stayed at the Cosmopolitan. The check-in was easy, with pre-check in completed online, meaning it only took a minute to get the keys to the room. Staff friendly, although on this visit, as I had not pre-booked parking, sadly did not get a car space, however no big issue, as on the weekend, found plenty of street parking nearby (that was untimed after 6pm - if you know where to look). The rooms, whilst basic, contain all you need and are clean and comfortable. Sadly, they no longer have a restaurant or bar - although being less than 300 metres to Acland St meant you are never far from a cafe, bar or restaurant with nearly all cuisines catered for. Reception has a small number of drinks available during opening hours, and a guest lounge is available between 10:00am and 5:30pm - if this was opened later and maybe had a decent coffee machine, then this hotel would be perfect! Although at the price point, it’s perfect for an overnight or even a few nights!

This hotel has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The hotel is aging but the staff keep it clean and maintain it best they can. This is a clean older basic hotel in the best st kilda location.

Nice spacious rooms, renovated bathroom, hot showers with excellent water pressure. Variety of pillow options to make for a comfortable night rest. After hours key retrieval was simple and easy. Carpet throughout the property was tired and stained in places but otherwise content with my 2 night stay here.
