I got this hotel because Expedia said the hotel had a bar. When we showed up we found out the bar wasn’t open on Monday and Tuesday. Then on Wednesday we found out the bar doesn’t open until 5pm. I’m not sure who comes to a foreign country and doesn’t have dinner planned outside of their hotel. Honestly I’ve only ever done lunch and breakfas. anyway…that would be fine but the hotels “bar” (I.e selective sponsored beer and wine only) is only open for those hours as well. Disappointed. Also there is no lunch service. So if you do sleep in and miss breakfast oh well! Also there’s really no front desk service. You come in and have to sign in via a tablet that can’t input UK postal codes. There’s absolutely no human interaction. If you have questions? Pick up the phone and hope someone answers!

Fint lille hotel med hyggelig indretning. Placering tæt på centrum og med direkte adgang til hyggelig restaurant, hvor de serverede øl fra eget bryggeri. Man skal være obs på at reseptionen kun har bemanding meget begrænset. Gode parkerings forhold. Alt i alt en fint hotel som bestemt kan anbefales vi man skal være i München et par dag.

Location and staff were great. Rooms were very nice. Paid parking was a solid plus (in small garage doors right behind hotel- a bit hard to find but just park outside with hazards and ask). Restaurant/Biergarten is incredible. Just great food and drink. Walks nearby are great but suggest getting bike rentals around town- much easier than driving (we got the auto for nearby trips to Salzburg, Berchtesgaden, and Hohenschwangau). In summer the room was blazing hot and the window didn't open enough. Only issue with comfort. Hotel needs to include small fans to help (another hotel we stayed at did this and helped a lot)

The place is very quaint with a nice beer garden but the room was quite small. The bed was comfortable and quiet. Not sure about the tin mugs as they get too hot to hold!

The hotel is set in a residential area outside the centre which was perfect as it gave peace and quiet in the evenings. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. The bar and restaurant area had a traditional Bavarian feel and was reasonably priced. We ate in the bar twice and both times had a lovely meal. Great tasting beer. An additional bonus was a glass of prosecco for our anniversary. In our room was a comfy king bed, and plenty of room. Unfortunately, the heating didn't work in the room and although we were given an oil filled radiator, this meant the lights flickered in the room which impacted the comfort of the room. In the bathroom area there wasn't any shampoo and conditioner - for a top range hotel this was disappointing. We didn't have breakfast as €20 per person was a bit steep for a buffet. Other alternative options nearby for a lot less. We walked into the centre each day which only took 15/20 mins. There was a bus stop right by the hotel for easy access. Another bonus for being in the residential area was on Saturday morning there was a local food market which had a great buzz about it.

A smaller hotel a little further away from the city centre. We loved it! All staff were excellent. the restaurant food was delicious. Restaurant staff were friendly, great to talk to, helpful and friendly. Thank you for a great stay! The cream and fruit dessert and rhubarb crumble were amazing!

Beautiful hotel, clean and updated. Nice restaurant and beer garden onsite, other bars, restaurants and bakery conveniently located with a short walk. Onsite parking available for a reasonable rate, as well as convenient public transportation options.

Loved staying away from the hustle and bustle! But we were at least a 12 minute walk from the train station with our luggage. There were closer trams and buses. It was near a park and not far from the English Garten. Our room was on the top floor that had a very sloped roof over the bed. A little tricky to get in and out. No English TV channels, which was fine but may be an issue for others. A restaurant right on property had a good selection of Munich fare but closed 2 nights during our stay. We had no heat or hot water the first 6 hours of our stay but the staff was super friendly and accommodating and compensated us. All in all a decent stay and good value for 3 nights.

Ab 8:30 klopfte der Zimmerservice mehrfach und recht nachdrücklich, um das Zimmer zu reinigen. Insgesamt handelt es sich um ein liebevoll eingerichtetes Hotel, allerdings mit einigen deutlichen Nachteilen. Für mich stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis leider nicht – ich würde das Hotel daher nicht noch einmal buchen.

We travel a lot (and all over the world). One of the very best hotels we've stayed in. PROS: excellent location; VERY walkable to old-town but quieter at night/away from the crowds; close to public transit if you need it; nearby rivers offer beautiful running/walking routes; the accommodations are clean, updated, Bavarian chic and very comfortable; staff was exceptional; dining options nearby are wonderful (in a foody part of the city) - the restaurant/Biergarten attached to the hotel was the best meal and beer we had in Germany (and we had a number of great meals and beer). CONS: many of the rooms (including the one we stayed in) face a moderately busy street, which could be noisy for some if they need the windows open during warmer months (we live in downtown Chicago, so are used to the noise). FYIs/Reality Check for Visitors: they don't have air conditioning; much of the EU doesn't. If you're travelling to the EU for the first time and think you'll require a room with A/C, be sure to research your hotel carefully beforehand (would recommend calling and confirming as well). They did have a very capable fan in our room but we didn't need it given the time of year we were visiting. LOVED our stay here. Can't imagine us staying anywhere else if we ever visit Munich again.

Loved the room, it had a quirky design, well presented and clean. Lovely breakfast selection, yummy scrambled eggs. Great shower, good toiletries and necessities. Bed comfortable, pillows not so comfortable. Air-con would have been a plus, but there was a fan in the room which was put to good use

Very clean and pretty rooms with everything needed but we were on the road side which was very noisy. Hot so wanted windows open at night as no air conditioning but this meant very early wake ups.

The room was beautifully decorated and very clean and pleasant. The location is good for walking into the city centre or a nice walk down the river. Stations but U and S bahne are again in short walking distance. There were only two downsides to the hotel. Firstly there is no Aircon and no fan in the rooms. It made the hotel uncomfortably hot. Secondly my room over looked the restaurant/bar court yard. This was very loud at night, though they do quiet things down by 12 midnight, but then breakfast layout starts early in the morning and did wake me up. Unfortunately for these reasons I probably won't be staying again.

They did have a very capable fan in our room but we didn't need it given the time of year we were visiting. LOVED our stay here. Can't imagine us staying anywhere else if we ever visit Munich again.

Loved the room, it had a quirky design, well presented and clean. Lovely breakfast selection, yummy scrambled eggs. Great shower, good toiletries and necessities. Bed comfortable, pillows not so comfortable. Air-con would have been a plus, but there was a fan in the room which was put to good use

The Hotel staff are great however our room was a little awkward with the bed wedged in a corner with a slanted wall. The electrical switches were confusing, had to try so many combinations of turning on and off switches to make certain outlets work.

Loved staying away from the hustle and bustle! But we were at least a 12 minute walk from the train station with our luggage. There were closer trams and buses. It was near a park and not far from the English Garten. Our room was on the top floor that had a very sloped roof over the bed. A little tricky to get in and out. No English TV channels, which was fine but may be an issue for others. A restaurant right on property had a good selection of Munich fare but closed 2 nights during our stay. We had no heat or hot water the first 6 hours of our stay but the staff was super friendly and accommodating and compensated us. All in all a decent stay and good value for 3 nights.

I got this hotel because Expedia said the hotel had a bar. When we showed up we found out the bar wasn’t open on Monday and Tuesday. Then on Wednesday we found out the bar doesn’t open until 5pm. I’m not sure who comes to a foreign country and doesn’t have dinner planned outside of their hotel. Honestly I’ve only ever done lunch and breakfas. anyway…that would be fine but the hotels “bar” (I.e selective sponsored beer and wine only) is only open for those hours as well. Disappointed. Also there is no lunch service. So if you do sleep in and miss breakfast oh well! Also there’s really no front desk service. You come in and have to sign in via a tablet that can’t input UK postal codes. There’s absolutely no human interaction. If you have questions? Pick up the phone and hope someone answers!

Had a slight issue with the self check-in key activation on arrival, but resolved remotely by the staff. Room was fantastic if a little noisy near the road. Lovely bar downstairs with wonderfully helpful and friendly staff on every shift. Would definitely stay stay here again and thoroughly recommend

I was travelling on business; this isn't a business hotel. I arrived after the reception desk had closed, meaning there was a delayed check-in. I had to wait 20 minutes, then was presented with someone who didn't know how to let me into my room. There wasn't an iron; there was no concierge. If you needed anything after 8pm or before 8am, you were stuck. Travelling on business means you're out before the reception team start and arrive back after they finish. I wasn't able to get an iron for the full week. The room didn't have aricon, but was ok. The location was pretty good.

Quand on allume une lampe, ça éteint l’autre etc. de plus un peu éloigné du centre et le gros problème c’est qu’il n’y a pas de véritable Accueil n’existe une personne que de 11h du matin à 8h le soir donc quand vous partez toute la journée vous n’avez personne pour le checking, check out ou pour faire autre chose je ne peux pas considérer ça comme un hôtel car sans Accueil

The hotel is set in a residential area outside the centre which was perfect as it gave peace and quiet in the evenings. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. The bar and restaurant area had a traditional Bavarian feel and was reasonably priced. We ate in the bar twice and both times had a lovely meal. Great tasting beer. An additional bonus was a glass of prosecco for our anniversary. In our room was a comfy king bed, and plenty of room. Unfortunately, the heating didn't work in the room and although we were given an oil filled radiator, this meant the lights flickered in the room which impacted the comfort of the room. In the bathroom area there wasn't any shampoo and conditioner - for a top range hotel this was disappointing. We didn't have breakfast as €20 per person was a bit steep for a buffet. Other alternative options nearby for a lot less. We walked into the centre each day which only took 15/20 mins. There was a bus stop right by the hotel for easy access. Does not work. Well intentioned staff but does not work. They have a self service check in which was done for both check in and check out. The hotel is not staffed after a certain early evening our which is neither safe nor helpful when for example my luggage was in storage and could not be takem out easily. Also be careful. Not on Marias Platzl. Rooms are clean bit Do not bother.

The hotel is outside of the downtown Munich, with not much around as far as services, however it is close to the river and you can walk over the bridge into town in about 20 minutes. We stayed here because it is very close to our son's apartment. They do not have full time reception however when we did see people at desk they were very nice. The restaurant was closed for Monday/Tuesday but when open the bartender was very friendly. If the main area of Munich is your need they have a sister hotel, you could look at as well. We stayed here once and it is a very nice in great location.

We travel a lot (and all over the world). One of the very best hotels we've stayed in. PROS: excellent location; VERY walkable to old-town but quieter at night/away from the crowds; close to public transit if you need it; nearby rivers offer beautiful running/walking routes; the accommodations are clean, updated, Bavarian chic and very comfortable; staff was exceptional; dining options nearby are wonderful (in a foody part of the city) - the restaurant/Biergarten attached to the hotel was the best meal and beer we had in Germany (and we had a number of great meals and beer). CONS: many of the rooms (including the one we stayed in) face a moderately busy street, which could be noisy for some if they need the windows open during warmer months (we live in downtown Chicago, so are used to the noise). FYIs/Reality Check for Visitors: they don't have air conditioning; much of the EU doesn't. If you're travelling to the EU for the first time and think you'll require a room with A/C, be sure to research your hotel carefully beforehand (would recommend calling and confirming as well). Beautiful hotel, clean and updated. Nice restaurant and beer garden onsite, other bars, restaurants and bakery conveniently located with a short walk. Onsite parking available for a reasonable rate, as well as convenient public transportation options.

Other alternative options nearby for a lot less. We walked into the centre each day which only took 15/20 mins. There was a bus stop right by the hotel for easy access. Another bonus for being in the residential area was on Saturday morning there was a local food market which had a great buzz about it.
The hotel is set in a residential area outside the centre which was perfect as it gave peace and quiet in the evenings. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. The bar and restaurant area had a traditional Bavarian feel and was reasonably priced. We ate in the bar twice and both times had a lovely meal. Great tasting beer. An additional bonus was a glass of prosecco for our anniversary. In our room was a comfy king bed, and plenty of room. A smaller hotel a little further away from the city centre. We loved it! All staff were excellent. the restaurant food was delicious. Restaurant staff were friendly, great to talk to, helpful and friendly. Thank you for a great stay! The cream and fruit dessert and rhubarb crumble were amazing!

Beautiful hotel, clean and updated. Nice restaurant and beer garden onsite, other bars, restaurants and bakery conveniently located with a short walk. Onsite parking available for a reasonable rate, as well as convenient public transportation options.

If I rated only on food, Maria's Platzl would get 10 stars. Its breakfast foods, from full-fat yogurt to its breads to its spreads and cheeses, are simply wonderful. The the restaurant itself is so homey and tasteful. A perfect stay would be staying in the breakfast area itself. I enjoyed the unique designed room too, but have to admit that I was flummoxed by its light switches. I could never control the lighting!

Loved staying away from the hustle and bustle! But we were at least a 12 minute walk from the train station with our luggage. There were closer trams and buses. It was near a park and not far from the English Garten. Our room was on the top floor that had a very sloped roof over the bed. A little tricky to get in and out. No English TV channels, which was fine but may be an issue for others. A restaurant right on property had a good selection of Munich fare but closed 2 nights during our stay. We had no heat or hot water the first 6 hours of our stay but the staff was super friendly and accommodating and compensated us. All in all a decent stay and good value for 3 nights.
