Hotel Munich City

Not a good experience, the staff was very stand offish when we checked in. The room didn’t have AC, didn’t have hot water, but it did have bugs! The hotel bar was cash only, no bartenders behind the bar and several light bulbs in the room were broken. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel, find a different place.

Original listing on Expedia showed air conditioning as an amenity for the entire hotel (this was one of my search filters when looking for a hotel in Munich. When we arrived the front desk said our room didnt have air and that I didnt select a room with A/C. There were no rooms available to "upgrade" to one with a/c and there was an extra charge for a/c. This is very decieving because the hotel amenities lists a/c, any potential guest would assume the entire hotel and common areas had a/c. We had a quad room had we felt like we were in a dorm. Half of the vinyl flooring planks creak. The shower after the 1st night was leaking through and seaping out of the planks from the outside of the bathroom area. The lobby, bar and small breakfast area are not connected to the room area we were in 790, so you had to go through the lobby out into the courtyard then to another building. These buildings don't have an elevator access and have a somewhat spiraling staircase set up and each small landing only accommodates 2 rooms on either ends. The showers are small as others have mentioned and have a frosted glass door that doesnt really allow privacy overall. No hanger in the bathroom to hang towels and no iron in the room. One of the worse hotels I have stayed at abroad. Pros: The hotel is close to the Munich train station HBF and across the street is a mall with a small grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants. We discovered this mall the last night of our trip. I would not book again.

Hotels in this same area are very expensive (€300 - €400) per night. Hotels by the airport were much more affordable at €120 - €180 per night. Hotel Munich City was literally right across the street from the Schwanthalerhöhe mall, so the location was perfect! The hotel includes free Wi-Fi and breakfast too so that was nice. The hotel was a mix of modern with old world charm. The lobby was very small, but they also had a bar adjacent to the check in counter. The bar gave off a club vibe, warm low lights and neon signs. The hotel rooms consisted of several buildings. Behind the main one, there is a good-sized garden courtyard with wrought iron tables and chairs as well as some greenery, and beyond that, two additional buildings with more guest rooms. The rooms are simple and clean. Four beds, a small table, a mini-fridge, hair dryer, and bathroom/WC in one. Immediately we noticed that there is no air conditioning in these rooms. There are windows that can be opened, but we had a room overlooking the courtyard so opening that would also let in the noise. Luckily for us, it was a cool night, so we decided to join the drinking crowd in courtyard for a couple of hours. By 11pm, most had turned in for the evening. The beds were about a medium firmness and so were the pillows. Inside the bathroom, they had a towel warming/drying rack which was nice. We set this on before we went drinking and had some nice warm towels for our bedtime shower. The Wi-Fi was accessible anywhere on the

Unterkunft war nicht sehr sauber. Zimmer hatte noch Staub fussel. Maus lief im Gang rum auf der 1. Etage (kam bestimmt von draußen rein). Bar war zwar da aber war nur Abends offen und auch kein separates Personal. Auswahl ist sehr begrenzt. Man erhält kein Kaffee außerhalb der Frühstück Zeiten. Hotel würde ich persönlich nicht empfehlen das einzige positive ist die Lage nah der Wiesen.

Unfortunately, the rooms are not air conditioned which led to miserable sleeping conditions with 80 degree weather. The rooms themselves are incredibly small which is ok if you’re not planning on spending much time in them (with no air conditioning, the longer we were not in the room the better). The bathroom was also incredibly small, especially the shower, I’m a small guy (5’7/160#) and barely had any elbow room. Also received poor service when attempting to receive a drink at the bar, no true bartender and the receptionist wasn’t aware of how to make any drinks. The only saving grace was the breakfast bar.

Det kunne have været rart at vide, at hotellet havde gravet hele dette gårdhave op. Og at der var arbejdsmænd lige udenfor vores vindue fra 9 om morgenen

Cleanliness was okey. Showerhead was moldy and dirty. The room was okey, not super clean but okey. Cleaning staff had their equipment outside in the hallway all day everyday, why? Just clean the rooms and take it away. Staff was okey. Only cash if you wanna pay for something.

Location location location! This was a perfect location to walk to Oktoberfest. Very convenient to train as well. Older hotel. Very small rooms. Shower is tiny! Overall clean and a good breakfast. Friendly staff. Location to Oktoberfest was worth the price. Bar had very basic offerings. Grocery store right across the street.

There is no elevator in the building we were assigned and they didn’t told us. The building was dirty, the carpet was dirty. They never gave us more liquid soap. There were spider webs in the room floor. The hosts were very rude with us and were never able to help.

As a first time Bavarian visitor the included breakfast was awesome. The staff kept the room very clean. We were easily able to walk downtown, and rent bikes to go out of the city. Close to the train station too—super convenient

Leider war im gesamten Bad (ohne Fenster) schwarzer Schimmel vorhanden, Lüftung funktionierte nicht. Im Schlafraum kam die Tapete von den Wänden bzw. waren Stücke der Tapete abgerissen. Schiebetür zum Bad funktionierte nicht richtig.

Room and bathroom were clean, only issues were for the air conditioner and television.

DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE, THEY LIE SO MUCH ON THEIR PAGE. Me and three friends visited Munich for the week and stayed at Munich City. Let me just say honestly that it was horrible, on their page they claim to do laundry however that isn’t available, the rooms are incredibly dirty even though they claim to clean it, we found urine stains on the walls, mold in the shower, and hairs stuck to the walls. On our first day at about 14:00 a man entered our room without knocking(while we had the do not disturb sign up) and tried to come in, he was quickly shooed away, this issue happened constantly and after the 3rd time of random people trying to enter our room we became uneasy and unsafe, when we went to the front desk and the man showed zero signs of courtesy and instead answered our complaints with simple grunts while not even looking up from his computer. The service was not friendly, nor was the physical building, during a storm multiple lights went out and pieces of the building broke off and fell to the ground. This place is not safe at all.

It was clean everywhere and the location is a excellent to visit the city.

Zimmer war heruntergekommen, kalt und schmutzig. Das email splitterte an der duschtasse ab. Im Zimmer meiner Tochter, hatten Waschbecken und Fliesen Sprünge, die Heizung tropfte. Auch hier was es schmutzig. Der receptionist telefonierte ständig am Handy - privat, sprach kaum englisch, Auskünfte zu bekommen war unmöglich. Dieses Hotel ist auf keinen Fall zu empfehlen.

The room was not cleaned and when requested only the bed was made. They took our towels and didn’t replace them so we had to ask them. You have to pay for the air, so we used the fan and that broke: there is no iron in the room and when I asked they didn’t have one and had to wait until someone returned it. The windows don’t open very far. The shower is small and the water leaked all over because the doors didn’t close very well: I got but by flees in the bed. The location is good for Oktoberfest so if you don’t care about anything I mentioned then you’ll be fine. Oh and the phone and safe did not work in the room.

Great hotel for the money, clean, friendly helpful staff, good location, comfy beds.

The room had no aircon whatsoever. So it was like sleeping in a sauna

It was a decent sized room for one person to sleep for two nights. The first room was not fully cleaned when I checked in at 4pm but I got a new one when I spoke to the reception. The room was trendy and was ok but it was very hot, there was no AC or anywhere to change the temperature. The windows could be opened but they faced a busy street so you couldn't keep them open all the time.

The location of this hotel & the very good breakfast are the positives for it , unfortunately there are quite a few negatives! The front desk staff are best described as surely & give the impression that they really don’t want to be there. The rooms are extremely basic ( especially when they are costing well over €200 per night ) & don’t have any water or tea/coffee making facilities. The TV has many stations but only about 25% of them work. The bathroom is one of the worst that I’ve experienced in a hotel of this rating , The shower is tiny , as in really small. I’m average height & size & I couldn’t move in it , anybody even slightly larger is going to really struggle. The toilet didn’t flush properly & kept running noisily, I did report it to the front desk but it didn’t make any difference. The water in the sink sprays in several directions. It’s a really noisy hotel , you can hear what’s going on in neighbouring rooms & in the corridor. If you were stuck & needed just one nights accommodation maybe it might be ok but I was there for 3 nights & was happy to leave & move to another hotel when my flight was cancelled.

A little misleading from photos. I would describe as very “basic” a lot of opportunities to make this hotel a better more comfortable experience. Our room was missing blinds and one window had no curtains to block out sun and privacy. Very close to train station and easy walk to the October fest

Value for money, down side is the shower is just too small, over all it’s perfect for a short stay.

The staff was very helpful and approachable. The breakfast was delicious. We walked everywhere but if that’s not your thing plenty of other options.

Easy place to stay. Bed comfortable, room clean. No frills. Breakfast good. They were kind enough to print out our bus tickets and store our luggage until we had to leave for the airport

Hotel was good physically, and I liked the 2 female receptionists on my first day, because they gave me directions and food / tour suggestions around the city; but the 2 male receptionists on the 2nd day were a bit unfriendly, especially when I planned to leave my baggage in the luggage room because I planned to come back after 1 day in Salzburg, and since they were really trying to dissuade me from leaving my stuff— I ended up not leaving any baggage and I therefore didn’t book another night in the hotel anymore after Salzburg.

Killen som arbetade dagtid var mycket trevlig och hjälpsam. Dem andra som arbetade övrig tid i receptionen var ointresserade av sitt arbete och på gränsen till otrevliga. Rum 788 (osäker på rumsnumret)som vi bodde i var mycket slitet och ofräscht. I badrummet var där bla klinkersplattor på golvet som var lösa. Kommer ej bo här igen.

Hotel was simple but served the purpose needed. The service from the staff was awful, very unhelpful and rude is an understatement. Paid for a double bed room, got two singles and told there’s nothing they can do. Asked for some more pillows at 3.30pm, and was told there’s no house keepers and it’s not receptions job. Was told the hotel bar was open until 1am, tried to buy a bottle of water at half 10 and was rudely dismissed. Any time we spoke to the staff felt like a burden. So rude and unhelpful and had a really negative effect on our stay

Personal beim Check-In sehr unfreundlich. Es gab keinerlei Informationen beim Check-In, weder zum Hotel noch sonstiges.. Hotel war allerdings sehr sauber und liegt sehr zentral.

El hotel está limpio, el desayuno es muy variado y la habitación es amplia y cómoda. En frente hay un centro comercial con varios restaurantes (las pizzas del italiano están deliciosas) y varios supermercados. Tardas 15 o 20 minutos en llegar al centro andando y 15 a la estación central. Muy recomendable.

Zentrale Lage, Nähe Theresienwiese, fußläufig erreichbar.

This hotel ticked all the boxes for easy access, position (10 minutes walking from train station and bus central stations. Its a fair walk to Munich's old city centre (25 minutes), but you're on holidays who cares. Staff is very polite. If youre on a budget and want to be a little bit fancy, you came to the right place.

Good value. Fairly modern. Excellent breakfast. Lots of variety and free! Cleanliness was lacking a bit. The bathroom wasn’t too clean and there was a problem with the toilet cistern filling itself. But for the price, that’s not too bad.

Breakfast was good

The breakfast buffet was bountiful and delicious. The hotel was able to store our luggage for a few hours after we checked out. The decor of the hotel was dark, a bit depressing for my taste. But the room was comfortable and clean.
