Our family stayed at Silkari Lagoons in Port Douglas recently and overall had a very enjoyable time. The setting is surrounded by lush gardens, lagoon-style pools (six of them), and relaxing BBQ areas make it feels like a tropical resort. The room was spacious, we had a dual key 3 bedroom, it was well‑equipped with a kitchenette and laundry facilities, which was really handy. The staff were warm and helpful, especially with tour suggestions and local info. Cleanliness was good; common areas were well-maintained. There are a few things potential guests should be aware of: some of the swim‑out or swim‑in rooms may end up in shadow depending on the orientation, which can affect sun exposure at the pool or balcony. Also, the distance from the main shops and restaurants means having a car helps, or you’ll rely on transport.

Room 63A with a swim out pool was amazing. The pool on the East side was heated. We spent lots of time in there. The apartment was in good condition with everything needed for cooking if required. It’s only a short drive to the shops, or around an hour to walk to town along the beautiful 4 mile beach.

Loved the pools - some heated and some now - also long enough to actually do laps in! The rooms were generously sized with good air con and fans. Beds pretty comfy (not the pillows) and having outdoor or indoor eating spaces were great - loved the BBQ area, so nice and clean. Parking very easy and accessible, staff at front desk very helpful. Only thing I didn't like was because the balconies all faced inwards, there was a lot of echoing off the walls and you could hear everyone else talking and eating on their balconies. Nice and quite at night though once in bed.

Pool needed a good scrub around the water line it had a large ring of black scum on the tiles. Cooking utensils were lacking, the pan was so bad we had to go out and buy one. Bed very comfortable. Room was spacious. Enjoyable stay, would recommend.

All in all a very good property and quite surprising considering some of the conditions of other properties around. The room was spacious and neat and tidy. Maybe a little more cleaning on the bathrooms would be good but it's generally very clean. (We had one towel with black marks and a little mould in the corner of the showers) The room was nice, the space was good, amenities were great, There isn't much for dining options around without driving so keep that in mind. Parking is limited especially any busy times, Car parking spaces are tight even for medium cars but there is street parking around, Even that goes quickly. We would definitely stay again. Staff were friendly and they even pre advised of local events causing road closures etc which is a nice touch so you don't get caught out with travel etc

To pay a grand for 6 nights.... and they have espresso coffee pods then expect $1 each pod... oknits $1 but if you capped it at 2 pads per person,...surely be ok? Apartment was dirty in shower, sticky fridge door, also rusty, not that this is really a problem. I washed ever utensil and crockery we used as half were actually dirty. I get this isnt the cleaners. There were several dark brown hair "small clumps" in bedroom on carpet. Im blonde. Wooden "icecream" spoon on lounge floor, under lounge room table. Not ours. The property itself & the apartment we had was a lovely design. Staff were ok.

The shower was full of mould, The fridge was turned off at the wall so food went off, there is no allocated parking so had to park far away from our room every time, the spa was dirty and full of sand, the wifi did not work for the whole week we stayed there.

When advising reception of issues of mould there was no apology or asking if there was anything that could be done - was just asked if there’s anything else we want to add prior to leaving..

Toilet wasn’t clean when we got there but they stamped the the toilet paper and didn’t clean the bowl ,sheets had black stains on them we were there for 3 days and cleaners never came once to change sheets or bring new towels. Pretty disappointing.

The shower was crap there was mold in the bathroom. The TV didn’t work until we received a new remote control on Saturday! So no TV for Wed, Thurs, and Friday nights. The spa was fabulous. There were limited facilities in the room no toaster!

Jen at reception was great. The room was spacious enough for 2 adults and 10 year old. Bed was comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. Had washer and dryer as well as clothes horse. We'll stay here again in the future. Thank you for the lovely stay!

We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor. Check in was easy and the staff were super friendly. They have these swim out apartments which are super cool, we’d love to stay in one of those next time. The apartment was clean, the beds comfy and the kitchen well equipped. Silkari is a 5 minute drive into town where all the restaurants are. Our only problem was our apartment had terrible water pressure, especially the hot. Then for the last 2 days, we had no hot water. So it was hard to wash dishes and we couldn’t shower. But it’s very hard to complain when the staff are so nice and accommodating. We were given the key to the apartment next door to use the shower, as well as giving us a hefty discount for our next stay. I just wish we could have used the spa on the balcony, I’m not a fan of cold spas. The hot water would have taken a few days to fill. Definitely enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Nice, clean apartment with all amenities needed and a comfy bed. But… the pool area is really noisy as sound just bounces from side to side of the complex. We had a swim up apt. and we were disappointed and wouldn’t stay here again.

Hotel is great. 1 bedroom swim out is perfect for family has two double beds and Ritz was great in her communication and accommodated our requests. Room is abt tired though and maybe an upgrade to decor due soo.
Hotel is great. 1 bedroom swim out is perfect for family has two double beds and Ritz was great in her communication and accommodated our requests. Room is abt tired though and maybe an upgrade to decor due soo.

Loved this resort! Fantastic staff! Great room layout! Emily @ front desk went out of her way to help us out after our original booking at another resort was lost & they were fully booked. She was so kind to find us a room very last minute & assist me with the booking process. She also advised us on a restaurant option for the evening &, WOW was she right! It was the best meal we had all trip @ IRONBAR in the main street. The room was fantastic! It was a dual layout with a main entry between 2 rooms for families. Our teenage daughters were on one side & my husband & I on the other. Quite large rooms with a spa balcony overlooking 1 of the 6 pools on the site.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor. Check in was easy and the staff were super friendly. They have these swim out apartments which are super cool, we’d love to stay in one of those next time. The apartment was clean, the beds comfy and the kitchen well equipped. Silkari is a 5 minute drive into town where all the restaurants are. Our only problem was our apartment had terrible water pressure, especially the hot. Then for the last 2 days, we had no hot water. So it was hard to wash dishes and we couldn’t shower. But it’s very hard to complain when the staff are so nice and accommodating. We were given the key to the apartment next door to use the shower, as well as giving us a hefty discount for our next stay. I just wish we could have used the spa on the balcony, I’m not a fan of cold spas. The hot water would have taken a few days to fill. Definitely enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Staff awesome. Apartment was awesome just a couple of small things let it down. Dryer didn’t work but staff gave us free use of guest laundry and a six pack to say sry. Couldn’t use induction cooktop as there was no proper induction cookware just some $10 scratched up pans which were useless. We used the bbqs in the pool area instead. The rest of the apartment was brilliant. Fix those couple of things and I’d be happy to stay for a week! The pools were lovely and the staff excellent.

Second time staying at Silkari and have found it to be a great place to stay. The customer service is exemplary. Pools are really nice and the upkeep around the property is very good. Easy free parking and close to everything, just a couple minutes drive to town.

The property is in nice location and condition of rooms were okay. There is no dining option on the property but was told that Ramada next door has options, did not check out though. There are tons of food options a short car drive. There were few issues such as previous occupant had left metal spoon in bone grinder, dishes were not cleaned properly and microwave glass was loose. When informed the management they changed microwave right away but forgot to remove the spoon, did not bother us. It is decent size 2 bed room option, used the pool which was clean. Parling included

We loved the swim out room it was really affordable as well. There was ample space for two of us. Great parking . The lovely lady that also said she was a life guard at the beach checked us in and gave us lots of tips and information about the local area . The beach is walkable but you can’t swim there, it’s a 45 min walk to town on beach. About 5/6 mins drive to main shopping area . They do have shuttles but we did not use that . There is a lovely restaurant next door at the Ramada , only a min walk from reception. We were down the end and the pool was in shade most of the day which was great being January. Ost of the time we were the only ones in it .

The property in general was great. The room amenities were great (albeit no oven in the kitchen, only a convection microwave) living area, tv access (kids loved the tv in their room), tea/coffee facilities, wifi, balcony spa etc. The furnishings, sheets, towels were mostly clean but still found the odd stain here and there. Bathrooms were pretty dated with a lot of mould present in the shower silicone. The place is old but it had everythifn we needed and was very comfortable. The 5 min walk to the beach via a beautiful jungle track and the massive pools (with noodles and floats provided) in the courtyard were brilliant. The staff at the front desk were super friendly and helpful, and even the maintenance staff were always happy for a friendly chat. BBQ area was impressively immaculate, with utensils, cleaning products and oil spray provided. Thanks for a wonderful stay! We'd come back.

Very nice stay, pool off balcony was wonderful - unfortunately no dining option, and therefore no breakfast either, we had to go next door to dine or drive somewhere. Having to swap pool towel (take wet one back for dry one) was very inconvenient especially if reception closed. Would have preferred a couple each in room, one drying, one dry.

We were a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 We booked a 2 bedroom apartment - however, we actually had 3 bedrooms!! The whole apartment was incredibly spacious and well equipped. We all loved being able to access the pool from our balcony. The hotel next door is an easy walk and offers good food options. The shuttle outside the hotel is really easy to access and provides easy transfers to the town centre. We didn't hire a car and didn't need to. We would not only highly recommend this holiday to a family looking for a completely relaxing break but we will be back.
