We were two exhausted travelers when we finally reached Koh Samui after nearly two days of travel. But from the moment we were greeted by the charming young lady "Touch" we immediately felt at ease and felt warmly welcomed. Our seaview pool villa was delightful, immaculate, and so very comfortable and the entire property, including dining, was excellent. The entire staff at Garrya Tonsai Bay was wonderful and everyone was friendly, kind, and helpful without exception. Even the General Manager took the time to personally talk with us and we could see he takes an active role with all guests. One concern we had before arrival was getting around the resort hillsides during the rain (yes, we are getting older!), but friendly and prompt golf cart rides were provided upon request at any time. We'd love to return some day and give the Tongsai Bay our highest recommendation.

Do yourself a favour, stop browsing and just book this hotel. It is absolutely wonderful - we had the hillside villa with the pool and it was stunning, tucked away and private with the most amazing hot tub/bath and pool with a sea view. The whole place is nestled amongst nature, the beach is beautiful and quiet and you really get the sense of blending in with the natural environment. The facilities - spa, both pools, gym - were excellent, never too crowded and really well maintained. The restaurants were good quality - shout out to breakfast buffet in particular. Sure, the food and the spa are more expensive than going out to eat locally but nothing crazy. We were able to leave the resort and head to the nearby towns / villages easily using Grab/local taxis. Really what makes this place special though is the staff. From the warm welcome through to lots of little, personal touches throughout our stay, we felt well looked after. All of the staff were wonderful but special shootout to Kookin, Noey, Pang and the gentleman who does the Muay Thai classes (one of the best things we did in our whole trip) for really putting a smile on our face. Can't wait to come back again.

Beautiful property, very attentive staff. I really liked the ability to be able to put all expenses on our bill including transportation and trips, scuba diving, tours etc. I was skeptical at first but their prices with their partners were competitive or lower than I was able to find on my own. The beach and pool were fantastic as well as the food. The villas are exceptional and very private. My only caution would be that the resort is very spread out and there are a lot of steps which was very nice for us but may be a challenge for those with any physical limitations.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay, which was very much enhanced by the fantastic service we've received. Would like to extend a special thank you to Thunder who was utmost welcoming, friendly and attentive. The hotel had plenty of amenities (gym, tennis, yoga classes, swimming pools) and a private beach. The room was great and was decorated for our special occasion. Would definitely consider staying here again if in the area!

Lovely property, particularly if you plan to predominantly stay at the hotel. Very peaceful and tranquil. Lovely beach. Never had to queue to use the free kayak and paddle board. Staff are fantastic, helpful and very accommodating. Particularly Noi in the restaurant.

Vi hadde et veldig godt opphold på Garrya Tongsai og vil absolutt anbefale hotellet! Hotellet ligger idyllisk til i en egen vik med privat strand. Og det var sjelden mer enn 5-6 andre folk på stranden. Hotellet har store bassengvillaer, som ligger helt privat til og hvor du bor akkurat passe langt unna nabovillaen. Stor villa og med stort og fint uteområde ved bassenget. Spa-anlegget var delikat og behandlingen veldig behagelig. Hotellet har 3 restauranter og vi spiste på to av de. Veldig god mat og «Fish Tales» hadde en fantastisk beliggenhet ved stranden. Rom bærer preg av at det er et eldre anlegg, men dette var ikke noe som var utpreget, og totalen med beliggenhet, det fantastiske personalet, den gode maten og alt, veier godt opp for dette! Så tusen takk for oss! 🙏☀️

Luxury private beach resort with two pools and stunning views everywhere. Our multilevel room had private pool. Two or more restaurants and a beach bar. Wonderful staff eager to please and help. I studied many other luxury options and glad I chose this one. Get a few minutes away from town and stay here. Close to airport.

We have just spent 6 nights at Garrya and absolutely loved it. All staff are fantastic so helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. A great variety at breakfast with the fresh juice bar the best. Lots of choice for lunch and dinner at the beach restaurant. All the little touches from ice water and cold hand towels at the beach and a parting gift make you feel very special. Bed very comfortable. Our first time at Garrya but we will definitely be back.

My wife and I stayed here for six nights after a recommendation from friends, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional and helpful. We stayed in one of the rooms overlooking the ocean for the first half of our stay and then a villa which was stunning! The rooms were immaculate, spacious and had beautiful views. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast selection, and the private beach and pool areas were very relaxing. I can't speak highly enough of the wonderful staff. This was the perfect place for a relaxing getaway!

My wife and I had a fantastic 11 night stay. Led by friendly attentive and very visible General Manager Food is superb. Beautiful location. Peaceful and chilled. Decent value given the quality of the product and service. Best of all is the service. Could individually praise all the staff as they are fantastic but just have to mention “Su” in the beach restaurant who looked after us so well. Also have to mention our maid who looked after us in room 116. I regret I didn’t get her name but our room was perfectly cleaned every single day and she provided lots of little personal touches Thoroughly recommend this hotel We’ve been travelling to Thailand for 20 years and this is one of our favourite ever hotels.

Flott sted i rolige omgivelser med privat strand. Meget god frokost. Bodde i leilghet de luxe v bassenget og stranda og veldig fornøyd med rommet. Litt bratt bakke opp til frokost/reseption men bare å ringe så henter de deg med el tuk tuk. Taxi til chowengmon e fishermann ikke noe problem. Det eneste som kan trekkes ned er litt slapp rengjøring eks under seng ellers ingenting og klage på

This was my first time on Koh Samui and I’m so happy we chose this hotel. Not only has it been in business for over 30 years, the service, the atmosphere, the location makes me understand why it has been so successful. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted personally, given a blessing, tea, cool towels to freshen up and shown around the property. Everything was clean, well attended to and the attention to detail was superb. We took a private cooking class lead by Pasuk who has been with the hotel for 27 years. It was a highlight of our trip! We learned so much and I loved how they are a sustainable and eco friendly hotel that uses everything from composting, to grey water systems to having their own organic garden to cook with what they grow. We hope to be back when the weather is better because the ocean was not safe to swim but that was no fault of the hotel’s, just when we could make the trip happen!

Que dire … de l’accueil au départ tout est réuni pour profiter ! Le geste d accueil avec le bracelet marque les esprits, le petit déjeuner est de haute qualité ( mention spéciale à madame Shake mango passion fruit ), le dessert personnalisé pour le départ , magnifique La plage est belle propre est calme , la piscine super belle , cependant attention au genou car la forme arrondie est piegeuse et on peut se rater.. la chambre est propre et les joints de salle de bain aussi (rare en Thaïlande) , le ménage est bien fait , la décoration est soignée En résumer un des meilleurs hôtels fait jusqu’à présent et on a baroudé ! Merci.

The accommodations were stunning,private, peaceful, and with breathtaking ocean views that never got old. The villa was immaculate inside and out. The service and staff deserve the highest praise. From the daily breakfasts to the Christmas Eve beach dinner. Garrya Tongsai Bay offers a perfect balance of luxury, tranquility, and heartfelt hospitality. Stayed in hillside pool villa and probably best room I have ever experienced. Large private pool and massive veranda overlooking the bay. Food in the restaurants is good and the staff super friendly and attentive. The beach is a bit more shingle than fine sand found elsewhere on the island, but that is a minor quibble. Excellent resort and well worth a visit.

I am happy to share my positive experience after me, my wife and two teenagers stayed at Garrya for 14 days. The place are amazing. Many places in Koh Samui are busy, but this place are all isolated from this and calm/all silent. I would like to highlight: 1: The staff. You feel so welcome, and the service/smiles are amazing. We feel almost as a little family. 2: Silence and relaxing. So silent place. The staff drive you with their «golf cars” where you want to go internally in the hotel area. This have a big value because it is some distances and steep hills. The staff/car are never far away to pick you up. Capacity for sun beds are very good. We had never problem to get beds, whatever time. At the pool the staff provided you with cold water all day, some days surprises with cold ice and cold small towels. 3:The place. Get a feeling that this place are operated by idealistic values and not fully commercial. Big areas, a lot of nature and not crowded at all. Own beach we also see as a big advantage.

We had a wonderful stay at such a lovely hotel in an interesting natural setting. Although we were a bit concerned at first about the access issues for my elderly mum, we soon appreciated the 'adventurous' terrain and the daily buggy rides turned out to be such fun for her. All the staff at Garrya Tongsai Bay really make the place special. They were all so lovely and really made us feel welcomed. We enjoyed immensely the high standard of the food at Rhoy Rhoy restaurant where we had dinner twice and special mention goes to Kookik who was not only kind, caring and attentive to our needs, but was professional and super efficient at her job. What a great example of excellent service! The clean, private, easily accessible beach was a real plus and the half moon pool was a calm relaxing place with a great view.

Beautiful property, very attentive staff. I really liked the ability to be able to put all expenses on our bill including transportation and trips, scuba diving, tours etc. I was skeptical at first but their prices with their partners were competitive or lower than I was able to find on my own. The beach and pool were fantastic as well as the food. The villas are exceptional and very private. My only caution would be that the resort is very spread out and there are a lot of steps which was very nice for us but may be a challenge for those with any physical limitations.

We were excited about our stay after seeing the great reviews online. However we were disappointed with the customer service. We tried to make them aware of our issues while we were there but the staff took no action to resolve it. After completing the online survey we received a somewhat snarky response from Manuel Lang, which was just full of excuses and once again the hotel did not take responsibility for some of the issues. The breakfast was nice and the restaurant staff at Rhoy Rhoy were good, but the staff at Fish Tales need to be taught how to engage with guests. While the overall hotel is nice, the facilities are outdated and in need of an upgrade too. I cannot say we would recommend this hotel

Our family getaway at Garrya Tongsai was nothing short of incredible. The staff are very friendly and provided excellent service. The property is very quiet but is close to the beach and not overcrowded. The only problem is the hotel is not easily accessible to any restaurants or amenities. If you like something more serene, this is definitely a great choice. Highly recommend.

Man bekommt Handtücher aufgelegt und das Personal ist stets dabei, dafür zu sorgen, dass man genug trinkt. Es gibt kostenloses Mineralwasser am Strand und im Zimmer, unter anderem. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die Servicebereitschaft und die ehrliche Freundlichkeit, mit dem uns das Hotelpersonal jeden Tag begegnete. Das Frühstück ist herausragend, eine exzellente Balance zwischen Continental und Thai/Asia, es ist ein "kleines" Buffet mit allem, was man braucht. Ebenso die frische Zubereitung von Fruchtshakes und der Service von Kaffee und Tee am Tisch war jeden Morgen ein Genuss. Wir werden mit Sicherheit wiederkommen. Die Anlage ist etwas abgelegen, zu Fuß ist man in 15min im Nachbarort. Wir mögen das. Hier gibt es Ruhe und Entspannung. Den Spa Bereich haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen, daher können wir dies leider nicht bewerten, aber wir sind zuversichtlich, dass auch hier die Erwartungen zu 200% übertroffen werden. I studied many other luxury options and glad I chose this one. Get a few minutes away from town and stay here. Close to airport.

Do yourself a favour, stop browsing and just book this hotel. It is absolutely wonderful - we had the hillside villa with the pool and it was stunning, tucked away and private with the most amazing hot tub/bath and pool with a sea view. The whole place is nestled amongst nature, the beach is beautiful and quiet and you really get the sense of blending in with the natural environment. The facilities - spa, both pools, gym - were excellent, never too crowded and really well maintained. The restaurants were good quality - shout out to breakfast buffet in particular. Sure, the food and the spa are more expensive than going out to eat locally but nothing crazy. We were able to leave the resort and head to the nearby towns / villages easily using Grab/local taxis. Really what makes this place special though is the staff. From the warm welcome through to lots of little, personal touches throughout our stay, we felt well looked after. All of the staff were wonderful but special shootout to Kookin, Noey, Pang and the gentleman who does the Muay Thai classes (one of the best things we did in our whole trip) for really putting a smile on our face. Can't wait to come back again.

Every aspect of this experience was completely wonderful, from the gracious welcome to the smooth transfer to the airport. Every meal was bountiful and delicious. All staff members were incredibly friendly and kind, the classes and experiences that were offered fascinating and heartfelt, and of course, the room and grounds were all lovely. And don’t say enough good things about this place.

My husband and I came to Thailand for the first time and loved every moment of it. Originally we didn’t know what to expect and just trusted our gut about Tongsai and were blown away. The staff was amazingly friendly, helpful and accommodating. There was an excursions representative at the front desk and they helped plan our stay. There’s a taxi service at the hotel and 2 restaurants. The taxi prices were around the same as Grab, and was a lot more convenient. The food was a 10/10 apart from the pizza which (being of Italian heritage) we didn’t love so much. With this being said, we have stayed at the Banyan Tree and the service, cleanliness and hospitality was at par. It is walkable to a few places, but we needed to take a taxi to most places. We both recommend Tongsai and can’t wait to come back :)
My husband and I came to Thailand for the first time and loved every moment of it. Originally we didn’t know what to expect and just trusted our gut about Tongsai and were blown away. The staff was amazingly friendly, helpful and accommodating. There was an excursions representative at the front desk and they helped plan our stay. There’s a taxi service at the hotel and 2 restaurants. The taxi prices were around the same as Grab, and was a lot more convenient. Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui is a good property, very ideally suited for a quiet chilled holiday for couples or someone with young kids. Firstly the good things - Staff is very helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. Rooms are nice, sizeable and tidy. Pool and beach area is quite good. The not so good things are - limited dining options, its the bar and one restaurant. If you want anything, you need to get into town by a Grab. Parts of the resort are getting old and worn and need renovation. Last but not least, the bartender makes the worst cocktails, he really needs lessons on how to make decent cocktails

My stay Garrya Tongsai Bay was a lovely, quiet & peaceful time. The staff were outstanding and went above and beyond to assist. Unfortunately, two out of the three restaurants were closed during my stay, so I could not experience them. Breakfast was top notch. The accommodation was excellent.

The restaurant selections & staff in same were outstanding. Some of the best I have experienced in my worldwide travels. Management was very attentive & supportive as well. Had some very interesting conversations, sharing Resort & Travel histories.

This resort is breathtaking between the room itself and the view! We (my boyfriend and I) stayed in a private Villa with two pools and didn’t want to leave the room! The attention to detail immediately stood out to us. They brought us little goodies to try during our stay such as cookies, caramel, etc. Everything was beautifully designed and clean. Every staff member was extremely kind and helpful. They have restaurants which we ate and experienced incredible service from staffing and delicious food. My boyfriend, now fiance, proposed during our trip to Thailand. The resort set up our room with tons of petals and flowers on our bed and jacuzzi to celebrate the proposal. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone and hope to someday come back. This place would be hard to top!
