Some great aspects, but some questionable for a 5-star. The hotel is showing its age. It's still good value but there's a reason it's cheaper. The lobby is not busy, which is great. Staff available to help, no queing up. The services in the room were a bit off. The QR code for in room dining did not work. Theere was confusion about what could be ordered and what couldnt be, with phone staff not familiar with the menus. The room was clean on the surface, but lots of debris and old food crumbs between cushions in the chairs. The king bed was two beds pushed together, which was comfortable enough but had soft spots and hard spots, and you could definitely tell where the beds met. The bathroom fixtures were not in great shape. The shower head was replaced and didn't fit in the holder correctly. The shower head hose cover was falling off, with sharp edges. Lastly, the Platinum member food discount benefit is not available for in room dining, despite being the same menu, restaurant, and same kitchen. You have to actually attend the restaurant which is annoying when you are with small children.

We booked three rooms when visiting Sydney for a family wedding. The service was excellent at every level. The rooms were comfortable and roomy and there was a bath in each room. We ate in the Croft Restaurant and the food was excellent. Breakfast had an huge variety to choose from. Easy check in and check out. Onsite parking a big plus.
