Friendly, helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Opening windows and a ceiling fan is much my preferred air con so I was happy with that. As it's an old building in the Rocks area and on a slope the hotel has odd groups of steps in the corridors so may not suit some guests. The stairs down to the dining and bar areas are also quite steep. I have stayed there before and would stay again as it's very convenient for the Opera House, the Rocks, Circular Quay and rail services.

Beautiful old world charm. Elevator to upper floors but several steps up and down between rooms. Missed that it was shared bathroom but no-one was nextdoor so not an issue. Staff were amazing. Loved our stay!

Overall we had a great stay at the Russell boutique hotel. Conveniently located for what we required for the weekend. Parking right next door. Circular and the Rocks on our doorstep. Staff were very polite and welcoming. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and clean, a credit to the very recent refurbishment, and although no view and no seating in our room, this was made up for with the beautiful roof top balcony only steps away from our room. Breakfast was included in our stay and was cooked to order from the menu. Highly recommended.

This hotel is in a fabulous location in the Rocks and access to many attractions USA bonus. Lovely hotel but lots of stairs and managing luggage is difficult so next time I will use a backpack.

We enjoyed our stay at The Russell. The staff were friendly and helpful and made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. Perfectly located to enjoy everything The Rocks has to offer including Vivid, we had lots to do and see within in a short stroll. Returning to the hotel we loved the live music in the small pub and it was the only place open until 12pm on the street. Our room was perfect, although no air conditioner, a ceiling fan and a heater was the only option, but it added to the antique charm. Breakfast is included and although limited, it had our favourite options on the menu. We would definitely stay there again, loved it!

Great except the breakfast which was a 5/10, and the unexpected increase cost of Wilson carpark. Even the hotel was not informed (can’t blame them). But the lovely manager (Valentine?) was responsive and offered a solution. Thank you, we’ll be back.

This was a lovely place to stay in a great spot in town. Everywhere was very clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The shower pressure was great. My room didn't have the best view (it was of a wall) but I booked last minue on the day so probably didn't get the best room. Would definitely stay again and maybe upgrade!

This was a really lovely hotel with nice chic rooms. Gorgeous bathroom and nice fluffy towels. All the staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. Plus an easy walk to circular Quay. Perfect and would definitely stay here again. 5 ⭐️

This small hotel and staff were exceptional. My room was spacious, quiet and had a nice fridge for my wine. Location, location, location… What s great stay at the rocks with short walking distance to most of things in the city center. Pubs, restaurant on the street and only 2-3 minutes to the ferry and train station. Breakfast excellent with the best service.
