Such a great hotel with tons of fun opportunities. My kids loved staying here and wanted to try everything (bike rentals, ping pong, water slide/pool, typewriters, etc). This is not a hotel to get just to sleep, make sure you plan some time to be able to enjoy the amenities.

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here! Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was decorated in such a fun and creative way (without being tacky), had lots of space to spread out, beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. The extras like the pool/hot tub, fire pit, communal lounge spaces, and the coffee/cream/sugar provided to make yummy French press coffee in the mornings put it over the top! The only downsides were that the room wasn't totally soundproof and there was construction next door, so this was a bit annoying, but it didn't take away too much at all from an otherwise great stay!

Fun room, great staff, very welcoming, restaurant very good. If you’re wondering, the waterslide entrance / stairs is outdoors but the water slide run out ends inside the pool building. And the water is comfortable even when the air temp is a bit lower.

Fun, updated rooms, which were very clean and really nice staff. Small pool and the hot tub isn’t the best but we still enjoyed the amenities and the sauna was a nice treat!

We had a great time at Hotel Zed! It's the perfect place to stay, especially if you have kids. They have a pool with a water slide and a hot tub. The kids wanted to stay in the pool all day. They have a super cute area in the back with a fire pit. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back!

Hotel Zed is tons of fun. The water slide and pool area is wonderful. Fresh found coffee for the room was excellent. Grandma’s basement was highly entertaining with the pool table and record player. And the decor was so funky and fun.

I booked 2 identical rooms, one for myself and one for my parents. I have given an "OK" rating because while my room was great, the bathroom floor of man prints room was very sticky. They asked the front desk to clean it, which they did, but when they went back inside they realized the floor in front of the sink was also very sticky but it was too late into the evening to bother calling them in to clean it. There was also an oder to their room that triggered my mom's asthma quite badly. She couldn't tell if it was from an animal in the room previously or bleach, but she had to use her asthma inhaler 4 times during the night, which it is recommend to use that particular one max of twice a day, so this was very excessive and obviously something inside the room that triggered a very physical response she has not experienced in any other hotel room previously. I may or may not book here again, but my parents never will. They were quite uneasy with the floors not cleaned and the odor.

Hotel Zed is very retro, reminiscent of a sixties motel but the beds are very comfortable, the rooms are well appointed and the bathroom up to date and spotless. Ruby's diner is excellent. The front desk was very accommodating. It is great value for money. I would definitely stay there again.

The pillows are too tall perhaps some smaller pillows will be better. The traffic noise was audible throughout the night. Otherwise, the room is spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped!

The hotel is a previously old motel - it smells like it (think old motel where people smoked a lot) regardless of the reno's. It's fun and funky for the theme, however, the location of this place is not great. Its a super busy area, car alarms going off all night, homeless out and about, and sirens - many many sirens. Plus you can hear your neighbors a lot as well. For my stay their hot water was not working properly upon my arrival which was fine, but it lead into the morning with water issues making it not pleasant to shower before my work day. The wifi was also in and out a lot from my room. Even 5G wasn't working well, so i must have been in a dead zone. The staff via text asked what they could do to help with the issues i was having and when i sent a reply back to them, they ghosted me and had no solutions - they didn't even try. I left here tired from a sleepless night, freezing from a cold shower, and disappointed with the customer service.

Really fun hotel at a good price, came with a french press, a disco ball, and much more. Main downside is how noisy it is, struggled to sleep at night, walls are thin and door isnt sealed properly so it was super loud with the cars cominy by. Not to mention the ac unit sounded terrible, aswell as the fridge. Only other downside is the pool and hot top are relatively small so they are very often too full.

We really liked the retro room decor, and a lot of function was packed into a small space, but the space was really small. If one person is in the separate toilet, the other person can't be in the kitchen area because they would be hit by the door opening. Nowhere to put your luggage. Pink lights are cool until you actually want to see. The main complaint we have is this is basically a daycare centre. Rafts of young children playing on the walkway outside your room without adult supervision. They call this a hotel, but it is a motel and you have to schlep your gear up two flights of exterior stairs whilst navigating around the kids running to the waterslide. Parking was extremely tight.

This was a fun and quirky hotel. The hotel had parking on site with a pool and hot tub. The rooms had some unique pieces in them that were total throwbacks. The hotel had board games, bikes and records you could rent out, plus a cool lounge with coffee and tea. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size, the only downside was there was no ac and the rooms were pretty warm at night

Exceptionally clean room, terrific staff communications, nicely decorated and renovated room, albeit basic amenities. One concern is that 4 days later I have yet to see the hold on my CC reimbursed. I have been told it has been processed but I have never seen a delay like that in my lifetime of staying in hotels.

The customer service at the front desk was not helpful. We waited for way too long as the lady at the desk went on and on with the guest in front of us. Talking about language and all the travel they have experienced. This was at 12 am. I had an issue in my room and it was never solved. We also had to move rooms on our two night visit and they moved our luggage. I came back to the hotel to find my AirPods missing. Funny enough the housekeeper was wearing them. I have the location on my phone and it’s disappointing to say the least. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I was very thrilled about our stay here. Location was amazing with it being right across from Mayfair Mall in Victoria. We we went to a concert at the save on Centre and walked back and it wasn't that bad. They have a breakfast place you can go tey on location. Thou we didnt try it was busy & everyone seemed to like. The staff was amazing. I have a extremely neutrodivergent family and we found the rooms were perfect for us. The lights we adjustable so that my autistic son wasnt overstimulated. We stayed in the one bedroom suite he could have quiet space and loved the space. He very much approved. They let us check in much earlier cause he was having a hard time and we need space to have him calm down. I couldn't be more grateful for the staff and accommodation. Beds were comfy. Even the little details of the frech press coffee and giving us cream when we checked in amazing. They have a firepit too in the back. We didnt get to use but we will be back. I cant stop raving about our stay to everyone. Definitely also brought back memories of grandmas basement in a good way. Love it. ❤️❤️❤️

I was “upgraded” to a cellar room with a window at sidewalk level. It was dank and creepy, with only one unoccupied neighbouring room. I was a woman travelling alone, and the area and the room itself felt unsafe. Luckily, when I spoke with the front desk she was kind and refunded my room. But, I would suggest being proactive and recognizing that single women should not be placed in such an unsafe room.

This is a fun and funky place to stay. This is my second visit and no complaints. It is easy to get downtown via bus if not driving. Internet worked well, everything seemed clean, and the staff are friendly. Didn’t use the pool, but looked like fun. The only thing I could not figure out was how to work the TV, but I have this problem at every hotel/motel I go to.

Love the retro vibe; clearly a lot of thought went into it! The location is OK, but it’s super close to a bike trail which brings you downtown in 15m, and the hotel provides you with complimentary bikes.

Everything was what i was expecting. The only down side is the property restaurant has a long wait time for breakfast ( over an hour). Also, we could only get water at the vending machine which only takes change and the reception desk does not have enough change to provide guests.

Fabulous stay at the Zed. The breakfast at the Ruby was delicious, and I would definitely go back. The hotel was such a cool vibe, and the rooms were charming and cozy. The beds were very comfy, the coffee was delicious we loved the French press. It was the perfect stay for our getaway.

Hotel Zed set an amazing vibe for our family weekend getaway! A fun setting that you can’t get at any other hotel! Including a heated pool with a slide the kids couldn’t get enough of. To top it all off, they have some of the best dining we had in Victoria!
