Marco Beach Ocean Suites

Did not know of pool and deck major renovation till after booking. Biggest issue was the tar/oil smell that kept us off the balcony and the slider closed. Unit was tired (carpets, paint) and needs a facelift; mattress was excellent; kitchen was fine; bathroom roomy; great view sans smell.

Scam.Fraud. Pool closed for months, "patio" ripped up concrete eith "danger" signs. Worthless accommodations.

Upon arrival reception was one fellow thumbing through a paper list. Odd. At 3pm was told check in would be 4 so we left. Got a call 10 minutes later that the room was ready. Valet staff were great. Asked about morning coffee and was told 7-11 was a 5 minute walk and open 24 hours. Hmmm. Asked about water and was told there’s a vending machine on the 2nd floor of the parking garage. Restaurant and bar are not their facilities including the restrooms that require club membership to use. Chairs and umbrella in room to carry to beach. Other resorts provide these on the beach. Pool and rooftop are under construction and didn’t see a spa or gym. Should have read the history of this location online before choosing. Didn’t think an attractive “resort” nestled between the JW Marriott and a high end Hilton would be run like a motel with no amenities. Never again…I know it wasn’t the highest price but it wasn’t the lowest.

The only problem was a bit of construction noise as the pool and surrounding area was under renovation.

Overall great stay. Perfect location for my family of 4 teenagers, my husband and I. At first, the lobby is not as inviting. Perhaps a big vase of flowers could warm up the space. Loved the rooms, mattress was a bit too soft. Super clean and new fresh white bath towels. There were plenty of poolside chairs and beach chairs with umbrellas at no extra cost! This was a real bonus for us! I would recommend management to place water coolers with fresh fruit and ice available for guests throughout the property: lobby, beach bar. It adds such a nice touch. The valet service was ok. I don’t think it is necessary and could save hotel cost. And the uncomfortable feeling of not having cash to tip every time they drove your car around front. Overall wonderful stay!

Room was fine, but the pool and pool deck was closed and under construction- didn't find out until after booking.

No room service, no shops or restaurants. Check in desk in the middle of a huge lobby was out of place looking. Like all the luxury hotels that dominate Marcos Island beaches, they allow valet parking only. So you're captured with few amenities by design.

Air conditioner was sort of working but the pool was not working neither. There was no bar service. Beach was far. For the amount of money they charge a night was terrible. Not worth it.

We had stayed at this property when it was the Marco Island Beach Resort and Spa but hadn’t been back in years. It was a high end resort back then. It has now been converted into a condo hotel and is going through renovations not just the pool area as mentioned in the property description but in the courtyard area and it’s an eyesore. We had ocean view from the 10th floor which was beautiful until you looked down and saw the mess. Included with your room rate you get beach chairs with an umbrella which is very nice. Unfortunately those chairs are situated in a designated area behind the chairs for members of the Tarpon Club which remained on property. The staff attending to the members of the club park their carts and trailers in the space dividing the two areas of chairs and block the beach view for those that have to sit in the designated area for hotel guests. We were there three nights. On the first night someone got stuck in one of the elevators and all elevators were made inoperable which meant we had to walk up ten flights of stairs after we got back from dinner. Not what we had expected. They got them working again by the next morning to have another go down the next afternoon. So during our three day stay the two elevators were down at different times. On a positive note, the room was clean and comfortable and the rate was extremely reasonable.

Bathroom was dirty and shower full of hair. Were told when we checked in the pool was 24 hours only to find out it was under construction. To add insult to injury we woke up to jack hammers that felt like they were in our balcony and we were on the 9th floor. No place to eat breakfast or even a vending machine. The beach access was nice but that was it. After bringing it up to staffs attention they were very nonchalant about it and we just proceeded to check out. The bail man was super nice both time but would not stay here again.

The staff was excellent and both hotel and room were spotless. Excellent place to stay.

This is the second time I’ve stayed there and there have been roaches in the bathroom both times.

The pool was under construction, the terrace was dirty and moldy.

This time was a terrible experience! Pool under construction for moths. Construction way too loud that you cannot even stay at the balcony or keep the door open. AC in the room WAYYYY TOO LOUD and the return was very dirty. The room had weird smell. Very disappointing!

The room was very clean upon check in and cleaned very well anytime we requested during our stay. Check in was easy and the staff all through the facility were the most friendly and helpful. I would recommend this facility for anyone looking to be on the beach in five minutes from their room.

Room we stayed in 1005 even that is non smoking room but ac has terrible smell like someone has smoked cigar in there smelt strong i had to spray some air freshener .. Also room had ant issue where the main bed is i have seen lots of ants around .. Besides that everything was great.

Very clean condo! We liked EVERYthing! communication, safety, cleanliness, beautiful sunset view from our porch, easy parking, pretty decor and the grounds were well established with flowers, shrubs& trees!

Staff was very friendly and professional. There was a few long black hairs on the bathroom floor. Not a deal breaker but a bit off putting. Shower pressure was not consistent and randomly hot water disappeared and came back. Not horrible but not consistent.

Room dated, but comfortable. Sheets and pillows old.

The rooms were nice, however the chairs they told me were going to be in the room, there weren’t any. Also I understand that the pool is under construction & there is a lot of dust, but we were there on a weekend, there were no workers on the project, but however there was not way u could go out to the balcony because there were full of dust. Aso even though I rented 3 nights, the 2nd day when I went upstairs, I had to comeback so they could reprogram my room’s key

This hotel is old and outdated. Property could use a facelift and have more high end features for the price point. AC in room was noisy and when I told the hotel staff they just looked at me and didn’t bother to even apologize for the inconvenience. What well trained staff this place has hired.

The water pressure in the shower was not reliable or consistent in terms of pressure and temperature. The room was clean and amenities as described. Would have liked the option to park made more available and explained rather than using valet. Front desk staff seemed

The suite was as expected, but the mattress was sunken on both sides making it uncomfortable to sleep. The foot board fabric is quite aged and corners dirty. Bathroom is nice but starting to show its age. Was quite clean with bathroom products, plenty of towels. The front desk and valet staff are friendly.

Clean & quiet. Excellent view of the gulf.

Accommodations were very nice, small kitchen, Living room, bedroom & nice bathroom! Only disappointment was water pressure in shower was very weak.

This resort is a complete win! Reasonably priced and you get so much! The staff is so nice and the rooms are spacious and clean! I felt like I was in Europe!

I was severely disappointed by this hotel. Definitely not a "resort" even though their website claims "in a resort-style setting". There are no "resort-type" amenities such as poolside service for food/drinks, towel service at the pool, a spa, maid-service. Positives, the staff was very friendly (front desk attendant, valets, Tarpon beach bar staff). The beach was lovely and they do provide free beach chair/umbrella set up. The hotel itself needs a massive facelift, very run down and dated. The bed frames were cloth and very dingy/dirty looking. The comforter for our King bed was queen size (at best) so it didn't even cover the both of us. One of the Tarpon Group workers told us that the hotel severed the relationship with them 4 years ago so they provide no services to the hotel. The elevators were deplorable. One didn't work the whole time we were there. Wasted so much time waiting for an elevator to arrive. And many times, when it did, it was so full you had to wait for the next one. The fridge in our room barely kept the food cold even set to the coldest setting. We had hot water half the time. Pool - Terrible. It says its hold max capacity 22 people, yet the hotel has 12 floors with at least 10 rooms per floor. Its not NEARLY big enough to accommodate the hotel. No enforcement of the pool rules because nobody that works there is out at the pool. I wouldn't go back to this hotel sadly.

Check in smooth with excellent customer service by two Cuban receptionist. Great experience. Will come back.

The front desk was empty for long periods of time. I called the front desk and nobody answered. I left a voicemail and nobody called me back. I had to use the service elevator for two days bc the other two were broken. For my 7 day stay at least one elevator was broken creating long waits and a cramped elevator.

The stay in Marco Beach Ocean Suites has been wonderful, the hotel is beautiful, the staff is friendly, very educated and helped with everything or your needs.

Staff no call back and no pool had to bring chairs downstairs myself we up umbrella - team member on the beach said they were sued lost privileges to use beach chairs and umbrella so I had to rent the chairs 50.00 dollars a day. They fail to call me back after me leaving 2 message's very disheartening to be treated in this manner

I would have given full 5 stars if it wasn’t for little inconveniences. The property is beautiful and our room had amazing views. But, we needed a couple of small things - toothbrush, tissues- that they kept pointing us to 7/11 for. It was only a 5 minutes walk but it would have been so nice for them to provide them, after all they didn’t cost much, specially compared to what we paid. Also on the last day the elevator was out of order and we had to lug 4 suitcases and 4 personal items down 12 flights. Not fun when you also have to drive 2 hours to the airport. It was hard to believe there wasn’t another elevator. They didn’t seem to care that’s what the feeling we walked away with.

First thing, the messages were not responded. Calls were not taken. Early check in request was not honored. Front staff are not responsive. Room cleaners and valet staff are really good.

Great location. Easy beach access. Can walk around safely. Clean hotel.

Property is on the beach with convenient beach chairs and umbrellas. Garage covered parking. Nice oceanview unit with balcony. Everything was comfortable about the property.

Everything was great! The staff were super friendly, the room was super clean, the hotel itself was absolutely gorgeous, and the view was unbeatable. The hotel is on the water, and there’s so much wildlife in the area! We saw so many fish and dolphins! The surrounding restaurants were fabulous as well, and we certainly didn’t go hungry. There’s really something here for everyone, whether you’re more about ecotourism or you’re just a foodie! I would recommend this place to just about anyone.

The suite and the location was great. The staff very nice and supportive. I wish the property had more dining options. Including a quick coffee or snack stand in the building, as well as a pool bar. There was only a beach bar near the beach and high end restaurant that was not managed by the resort.

I don’t recommend it because . No pool at the hotel, no breakfast area . They don’t tell you that until your make the reservation and after that they send a letter saying that and the reservation is not refundable. Totally scam

The property is outdated. The pool wasn’t available and under construction. When I booked the hotel I was not aware of the construction happening. I’m luckily not a pool person so as much of an eyesore it was to look at, it didn’t phase me. There are no restaurants on property. The restaurants on property were closed.. I’m guessing because of renovation? Sucks cause there also was no room service at all. So after 10pm if you have not eaten. Good luck on finding something. It’s an island that is secluded and so to have a delivery done besides pizza was impossible. Make sure you do your research because you might come out disappointed. The JW Marriot is a 4 min walk to the left and Hilton is a 4 min walk to the right. Both have bars and restaurants but they all close at 10 for food and the. Bar it just depends where you go to get to the bar. Overall great for someone wanting to just rejuvenate and unwind. Also very family oriented

The property is very pretty and well kept. Our suite was huge and very nice and clean. The front desk and valets were pleasant and knowledgeable. One misleading piece is they notate a beach bar which we assumed was "theirs" and that is not the case. It is on the way to the beach but not owned by the resort. There are bathrooms there but only for bar guests. You need a code to get in. So when you need the restroom and are the whole way out by the beach, you need to go into the hotel lobby! Not convenient. The pool area is nice but small. We knew that going in. No food or bar here which we did miss. They only had 6 umbrellas for the entire area, and it was very sunny and warm. I asked for more and he said they lost some due to a storm months ago and were waiting for more. So if you want to stay at the pool and have an umbrella you have to literally pounce on one when someone goes to leave. I also strongly feel there were people at our pool that did not stay there but no one monitors this. All in all, very nice place and we enjoyed the area. We have come to realize we must be sure we choose a property with bar/restaurants and a bathroom in vicinity of the pool and the beach. If this is not a need for you, then this should be a good spot for you. There are restaurants and shopping in walking area and does appear to be quite safe.

This resort has a beautiful location on the beach; our room was large and had a magnificent ocean view, but the property is showing its age and could use a refresh. It also has no coffee shop or restaurant on site.

Can’t use beach bathrooms because they are owned by a private club. You have to walk a long way into hotel to use lobby bathrooms. Our bathroom cabinets were peeling. There was a note that they do not offer housekeeping. The beach towels were in a closet in the room. We walked all the way to the beach to get out chairs and towels and were told to go back to room to get towels. Beach bar is privately owned but they lets pay cash to get a drink.

We thought our stay was just ok. We saw that the pool was being renovated, which was fine with us, wanted to do the beach anyway. We saw on the site that beach chairs and umbrellas were available, so we didn't pack our own chairs. When we got to the beach the hotel didn't supply chairs or umbrellas. You could rent from a vendor for 30.00 an hour. Ummm No. So we laid on towels in the sand which was very uncomfortable. We decided to eat at the hotel. There were 2 menus in our room. Had decided on what we wanted for dinner only to find out the Restaurant is closed until Oct 1st. So why do you have menus in the room? Keurig coffee maker in the room didn't work. Probably won't be returning. Will try another Resort in the future.
