Rodeway Inn Near Ybor City - Casino

I will NEVER stay at a Choice hotels brand afain. This particular Rodeway in was horrible. Floors were dirty. Walls were dirty. Sink was fallung apart. Bathtub/shower had mold in the silicon. The bed cover had cigarette burns/ holes in it. People outside smoking weed, loud offensive music til after midnight. Remote control for TV broke, held together with tape. Stated there was a laundry and continental breakfast, was told NO due to remodeling. ( wasn't remodeling) ABSOLUTE TRASH...

Elevator was dirty. No phone in the room, the toilet leaked at the bottom, my key was turned off on Saturday night even though I reserved 2 nights. All in a non-refundable room/hotel

In a bad neighborhood. Lots of loitering and homeless hanging around hotel. Rooms are not very clean there were stains on our black blankets dirt and food stuck to walls. Floor was not sweep or mopped very well could not walk around without shoes. The area around ice machine on 1st floor smelled on urine. The pool was not able to be used claims PH levels were bad so cared about pool chemicals but not about how nasty the rooms are. I sent my oldest to go get towels on Saturday morning and front desk told us no house keeping us coming around I got there on Wed and never got new towels and they never came around had to go to desk myself and still tried to argue with me. I do not recommend

This location is in a dangerous part of town with indigent people loitering on or near the property, obvious drug use, loud balcony gatherings and a high potential for crime. The grounds are filthy with trash strewn throughout the balconies. One elevator was out of service, the other was filthy. The coffee station in the morning was unmaintained.

Front desk would not put disabled member on first floor. Blamed elevator was the solution. It was a walking distance to room issue but they showed no care in the world. Once we did get the into the room, there was a weed smell to the room for a non-smoking room. There was a few roaches around the bathroom toilet. The pool was closed even though they said it was open when room was booked. But what made the stay very awkward and less desirable was the constant barrage of homeless people asking for money around the complex and the loud people who were using vulgar language around my 7 year old child. When bought to the attention of the front desk staff, they said they would send someone to take care of that issue but no one showed up as those guys and girls went on for over 4 hours till almost 1am doing the same thing. Just not the experience my family and I wanted.

only one room was offer and it was on the 3rd floor. the lift was not working and we were unable to walk up 3 flights or stairs.

This property was absolutely disgusting inside and out. The lobby has been shut down and they make you check in through a side entrance with bullet proof glass. The 1st room they gave us looked as if people were currently living there with trash on surfaces, TV running and bed had all sheets and blankets balled up in center of bed. After being in our 2nd room for about 10 minutes, 2 men in street clothes (apparently hotel employees) attempted to force their way into our room claiming that we had lied about checking out and demanded we vacate the room. I explained that we just checked in 5 minutes ago and they apologized and left but we had already had enough. We immediately got in our car and left. DO NOT STAY at this hotel under any circumstance

Room smells. A/c never cooled the room. Had to use my own passwords to access the tv, like Netflix or YouTube. None of the coke machines worked and only one ice machine worked on the top floor. But, the pool was nice.

It didn’t feel safe. Thugs and what appeared to be a lot of prostitution and drug activity all over the place. I got a non smoking room that smelled liked a smoke factory. Burn holes all in the bed comforter. Pool was closed for no apparent reason but of course full price. I don’t know why Expedia would even list this property

We arrived at 5 PM on Wednesday and the front desk was closed. Already had to check in at night desk. Asked for a luggage cart and after waiting 10 minutes, someone came with a grocery cart with a broken wheel for us to use. Took an elevator to get to our third floor room and the floor of the elevator was soaking in urine and had feces in it. Got into the room. The floors and walls were dirty. The sheets were still stained. About 45 minutes later, all of the power went out in the room, took them about 25 minutes to fix. It said it must’ve been a bad breaker asked for them to clean the room after the first day and the only thing they did was supply a new set of towels and one roll of toilet paper. Seems your daily ration is only one roll of toilet paper per room room was right next to the stairs , where people would routinely sit at all hours of the day and night smoking. on the second day, I got our dirty clothes together, prepared to do some laundry only to be told the laundry is not working. In fact, there was no laundry, even though the property it was advertised is having one. we were there. We had to get our room card reprogrammed because it would lock us out in the afternoon each day. Finally, the location of the hotel is not in a great part of town. There’s a gas station right across the street that apparently is a homeless area 24 seven. The only bright of the day was the workers were fairly nice, although only a few spoke English.

Our room was filthy and smelled awful. The sink and toilet were backed up. Thankfully we only had to stay one night. Never coming back.

Overall was super dirty and tons of things were broken. The lock on the door was broken. They had it rigged up so that it would work. Floors were disgusting, did not trust enough to walk on the floor barefoot. Curtains and blankets had holes burnt into them. And the room smelled really bad. There were tons of homeless people all around the building.

Hotel was dirty and had roaches

The room was gross. Floors were dirty, shower tub black and disgusting, bed had debris on it. Pillows were yellow from being soiled. Could not get a refund when i asked front desk, my family was not safe here.

There were cockroaches all over the place. We had to leave and go to a different hotel. Trying to get a refund from property management.

The room was disgusting and in need of repairs. Entry door to the room was warped and was not flush against the door frame. The bottom of the bathroom door was torn apart. Floor was dirty. Power outlets were installed upside down. The towel ledge was rusted and leaning off the wall. The lamp shade was torn. Bed sheets had not been replaced and had bloodstains on them. Shower handle could only be a fourth of the way which only gave out cold to freeing water. Tub drian was rusted. Air conditioning unit was dripping water and need maintenance. Neighborhood is in an econmically depressed area of town so a lot of people just hanging out in front of the property and dumping a lot of trash. I'm not sure who manages this property, but I don't think it would pass an safety inspection. I'm not sure if you could call this place a slum, but seemed pretty close to it. I stayed here because it was the only place that was affordable in the Tampa area that weekend, but I would of paid more to go somewhere else. See attached pics.

Absolutely Disgusting and Unsafe. This Place Should Be Removed from Expedia’s Listings I have never been more appalled by a hotel stay in my life. The Rodeway Inn Near Ybor City is not just outdated. It is filthy, falling apart, and completely unsafe. The room we were given was in horrible condition: dirty floors, crumbling walls with actual holes, peeling paint, moldy curtains, and a constant stench of stale cigarette smoke coming from the vents. The lighting was so dim we could barely see anything, and to make it worse, the shower head and faucet handle literally fell off, making it impossible to take a proper shower. There were cockroaches crawling around the room, which made even being there feel like a health risk. And as if that wasn't enough, there was a group of clearly high or intoxicated individuals loitering around the entrance of the building. We felt incredibly unsafe even walking to the room We decided to leave a full night early because it was simply not safe or healthy to stay there any longer. When we requested a refund for the second night, which we did not even stay for, Expedia tried to contact the property. The manager gave excuse after excuse and ultimately refused to approve the refund. I didn’t even ask for the full stay to be refunded, just one night! That was apparently too much to ask. It has now been over 2 weeks and I’m still fighting for a refund of just $90. That this property is still listed on Expedia is honestly shocking.

checked in to 3rd floor room , no tv remote, smoke detector hanging off of wall and beeping .went back to office and they acted like it was my fault. next room ok but key would not work second night and had to make journey to office loaded with food to program key.

The beds was hard. There was trash under them. The door lock was not screwed on right. The toilet ran all night.When I arrived the night clerk had her eyes closed at the desk which it looked like she was sleeping. It was around 9:30 pm

Sketchy area, paper thin walls, noisy all night. I recommend you keep looking.

It is located in a very ghetto area, surrounded of homeless people and scary people around the hotel. The room had the lock broken, no phone in the room, infested by roaches, the mattress had the springs broken making it hard to sleep. Definitely it is not a good place to stay you will feel very uncomfortable and scared of the area.

The room really isn't nad. The bed is not good. Pillows aren't good. The room isn't bad though as far as aesthetics go. You pay for what you get. Super loud with people scream and slamming. The area is not good at all. Crack heads everywhere. Would not reccoomend stayong if you have kids or a wife.

The area was very much to be desired. The outlets didn't work. The bed wasn't comfortable and the cover was a curtain. You have to stand directly under the shower. The TV keeps stalling. Seems like a lot of homeless people live there, just nasty grounds.

The environment surrounding the hotel wasn’t comfortable a lot of people just hanging out seemed homeless or drug related the hotel room needed a few things like a chain lock on the door was broke the door had a gap between the floor so there was light shining through the bathtub faucets didn’t shut the water off anyways there’s only so much that can be done as far as the surrounding environment but as far as the room I think a lot could be done

Dirty, did not come close to photos. Bathroom door didnt even shut. No blanket on one bed. People roaming around talking to themselves groups of people sitting outside of property on curb high on something. Lobby looked great inside. Not worth the uneasy feeling or dirty room.

The "non-smoking" room had a cigarette butt left over from a previous guest still on the floor. The rooms did not smell clean or smoke-free. The mattresses had plastic covers (like the ones that come on a new mattress) that crunch every time you move at night. The rooms look like they are being slowly renovated by a low-skill worker. As an example, the shower was lined with nice marble tile but the adhesive was still smeared on the tile and around the plumbing fixtures. There were beggars and homeless in a constant steam across the parking lot. At very departure and arrival they were begging for cash. Everything clean, parking available, the room comfortable and the staff excellent

This is me and my family’s second time staying at this hotel because we come from Georgia for my chemo treatment. The area isn’t the greatest because there’s a big transient population that hangs out across the street from the hotel, police ride around the property which is a good thing, but what makes up for the area is the hotel staff, they have ALWAYS been courteous, friendly and polite. They are always willing to help and accommodate their guests. Me and my family have decided anything that we’re in Tampa, this is where we will stay.

Urgent Attention Expedia!!! Please remove this hotel from your website ASAP!!!. After I made a reservation on your website, I called this hotel several times before my trip and told them I will be arriving in Tampa, FL around 1:00 AM and I needed a very late or early check in. They said it's okay. I spoke with a Manager (Norris) when I got to the hotel with my senior father, they did not let me check in; they said I need to wait until 3:00 PM. It was a teenager attending the front desk. I demanded to speak with his manager or supervisor, but he did not want to call anyone, and it was very difficult for me to get a hotel around that time. It was a nice stay. The staff is pretty cool they seem respectful and easygoing. The coffee in the office was hot and fresh, now the people hanging around the neighborhood might make you nervous..lol! But if you stay to yourself and just looking for a spot to rest up this spot ain't so bad. And they have competitive prices.

The staff was amazing as we did not have power due to the hurricane. Front office were so friendly and had many kind words during a terrible time.

I was not satisfied!!!! Very poor very drug infested, we were assigned a room and someone else was already in the room we were locked out our room then we were put out the room with we were not refunded.. this place needs to be SHUTDOWN!!!!!!!! We were not satisfied at all we paid for 3 nights were put out after 1 night and still haven’t received our refund who can help us with this???

Good hotel but the surrounding area is little funky

It was in the heart of the ghetto...lots of homeless people but they did not bother us.... for what it was, I wish I would have stayed elsewhere

The photos online are not representative to the actual rooms on site. We did not see the pool area because it was closed due to the hurricane and they need to reinspect. The lobby area was nice and been updated. Neighborhood is questionable.

Unsafe at night

Sketchy hotel in a sketchy location. The 1st room was bad, the second room was ok. The sheets were rough and the water spout in the bathroom was broken. As long as you didn’t go outside it was fine.

The hotel was located relatively close to the freeway but without any traffic noise issues, so it allowed for easy access to all local areas. There was a gas station opposite, which had a number of people visible hanging around. A police car was present one night and appeared to be dealing with this. The car park was fenced but without a gate, so these things made me concerned on arrival. The room was clean, but the door lock had a panel missing on the inside. The bathroom smelt strongly of ammonia. The room was OK to sleep in and had a fridge. There was a lot of noise late at night, from fellow guests playing very loud music. The hotel staff did not do anything about this, and the telephone in the bedroom did not work to report this. While the hotel was convenient and looked nice, it was not really an enjoyable stay. I would not book again and would not recommend it.

The room is dirty and not comfortable for the price we paid. Said breakfast is included but it’s only coffee served and telling us that the buffet room is under renovation. 😔😔

when i arrived (late) had to go to night window which i discovered was around back of the main lobby which is locked and never used for anything apparently. didn't have a chance to check out the pool. at night there are enough lights on outside to make you think its daytime and my curtains wouldn't close all the way. one bed felt like a granite slab with some padding on it. the other was ok-not too soft or hard. there isn't any "breakfast" which is ok by me since they usually aren't good anyway. would have liked the neighborhood to be a bit nicer but c'est la vie. it was quiet at night so no noise from much of anything but the a/c unit. all in all it was ok. not great but ok.

The staff were great, our room wasnt. Dont be fooled by the nice lobby.Wires hanging out of the wall. The shower/bath floor was permanently stained and looked dirty. The top of the toilet system didnt fit. People arguing outside our room all night. Someone banging at our door at 3am in the morning. Couldnt have a coffee as they didnt have any sugar or cream even though the coffee machine was there. We couldnt get out fast enough
