Wonder View Inn - Bar Harbor Collection

The lower level view is not so impressive but access to the restaurant, indoor pool, outdoor pool and workout room. WiFi is spotty at best.

The people at the front desk were great! When we checked in they had a goodie bag for our dogwich included a couple of poop bags, a fancy dog treat, and a plastic bowl. In the room there was a three ring binder that had information about the hotel, and the area; so helpful. The indoor pool and hot tub were great after a day of hiking. Will probably stay here again.

This place was solidly ok. There was a definite lack of communication between the staff - one staff member would tell us one thing and the next would completely contradict what the other would say which was a bit frustrating, especially when trying to make plans for our visit. Although they didn’t communicate anmongst their team well, all of the staff we dealt with were still very polite, professional, and friendly. We were quite disappointed that the hot tub was unavailable for our entire stay, as it was a main factor in our decision to book the wonder view over other nicer options in the area. Would have been nice to know ahead of time that not all of the amenities would be available. The water in our room took a long time to heat up, and the sink took a long time to drain (the sink would fill up all the way before the water could get hot and then you’d have to turn it off so it didn’t overflow, then wait for it to drain before turning it back on to continue warming up which was annoying). Once it warmed up though, water was hot and stayed hot. Aside from the negatives explained above, the bed and pillows were comfy, restaurant had a nice view, and the room served its general purpose. We weren’t in there much since we were there to explore Acadia and not there solely for the hotel. All in all, Wonder View was just ok in our opinion. Hard to say if we would stay there again or recommend it to others - it wasn’t horrible, but it also wasn’t amazing. Just ok

Loved our star ay Wonder View. It shares a property with Bluenose Inn which is much fancier but the best part is that you still get to use all the amenities that the inn has! Pool, free coffee/tea, lounge with live piano etc. Staff were very friendly and it is so close to the Acadia National park! Room was clean and comfy. Would definitely stay again

The location was beautiful and well worth the price. The indoor pool exceeded our expectations and was immaculate as was the hot tub. We did not use the outdoor pool or fire pit but both looked inviting. The location is close enough to walk to the d9wntown village. The rooms are a little dated but beds were comfortable, Internet access was excellent.

Loved the live piano music! The pianist was absolutely amazing and it was a wonderful time to meet and chat with new friends!!! The pool and hot tub were nice surprises and the view from our balcony and windows was AMAZING!!

If you can get a bay view room the view is nice but the hotel itself is quite outdated and most of the amenities weren’t working properly during my stay. The heating was out on the hot tub and pool so both were freezing and the bar was only open on the weekend despite having a sign saying it’s open Monday-Saturday. Overall not a bad experience but probably should be priced lower.

We enjoyed the amenities shared with the Bluenose Inn. The beds were quite comfortable. We also enjoyed the pianist in the evenings. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are close.

Out of all the amazing options in the downtown Bar Harbor area, this is not one I would recommend. For the price, it was very disappointing. There were blood stains on our carpet, the bathroom was dirty, there were clumps of hair in the shower, and the doors were paper thin so you could hear everything in the room next door. The only plus was that we were walking distance to downtown but there are other options I would highly consider over this one for their location, amenities, and cleanliness.

Super clean room. Old blue tub/shower looked brand new it was so clean. Comfortable beds. And best view of the harbor for any hotel and room in town!

While not the newest room, it was incredibly clean. The staff were polite and efficient. Even when we spilled an entire water bottle on the bed, they quickly came and switched all the bedding for us. The only issue we had was that both my husband and I banged our shins on the foot board of the bed as the corner sticks out about 2 inches from the rest of the bed. This could be an us issue, but be careful on those late night bathroom trips.

we stayed in unit A2. When I opened the door I was hit with a musty, moldy smell. The room furnishings were just a hodge podge of old pieces. Additionally the abutting room had a dog despite their supposed no pet policy. Needless to say the experience was an assault to the senses. I immediately registered my complaint to the office check in and was advised that they had no other vacancy and therefore no recourse. We gutted it out for our 2 day stay with their vacancy sign prominently displayed the whole trip. Unhappy with these obnoxious untruthful people

The hotel was very moldy smelling, tge carpet was damp and the interior and exterior is very dated. The beds were comfortable and staff was friendly. For the price, it was more of the $90-100 range instead of 272.00 a night.

We stayed in the Ocean View building, and the view was amazing! Walkable to downtown Bar Harbor (a bit of a walk, but past a lot of amazing homes and a few historic things). We really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location between village center and National Park entrance. Motel exterior is "vintage" from the 60's (or so) but our room was fine inside. Be sure to confirm that your room has the "wonder view." Ours and many other rooms have a view of trees that block what used to be a wonderful view. Other rooms do have a magnificent view of the water and islands, as does the onsite restaurant.

The bathroom had mold in it and no exhaust fan There was a smear of something on the bathroom door. There was also an old adjourning door to the next room which let sound through and you could hear everything from the room over. Also no curtains so no sleeping in past 7 because it's way to bright with all the windows.

I will start by saying sunrise every morning over the bay was stunning, so the name did not disappoint. What did a bit was the condition of the unit and distance from amenities. It feels a bit like you’re staying at the forgotten motel. The hallway to the room is very musty smelling, doors are loud, blinds are yellowed and bent, manufactured walls are thin (so you hear the loud doors in the middle of the night). The hot water either takes 15 minutes or 2 to heat up. Our bathroom was very tiny, with no place to put toiletries - making tasks like brushing teeth and makeup pretty frustrating. I have a bit of a higher expectation that I’m not just paying (a lot) for a bed, but a place that’s enjoyable to relax in. The Bluenose Inn has the hot coffee, pools, and lounge, but honestly after a long day of hiking in the park and hiking back up to the room, we never made that last hike to the “real” hotel. It felt too far to enjoy, which was a huge bummer. We only saw staff members checking in and checking out. It just felt very isolated, and again, not my expectation staying at a hotel. The positives are that there’s reserved parking, downtown is very close, and housekeeping really did keep the place very clean and nice. I think next time we’d be far happier at the Bluenose. This place feels like a lot of love went into it at one point, and I hope that love and attention comes back in the update it deserves.

Nice big room with 2 king beds which is great because we are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Friendly staff, an awesome view and walkable to town. My only negative comment is that the bathroom is a bit dated. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Location was good! Walls to thin, people on balcony next door sounded like they were in the room with you and the doors when they shut sounds like your slamming doors. Not good when you have plans for an early morning.

We had a great view from our room. The room was very large.

This was our second time here! Checking and checking out is so easy and they are extremely dog friendly. The area is great super close to Bar Harbor!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They provided a welcome gift for our dog:). Breakfast was great and the views were beautiful. They have a very cute gift shop as well. Great stay!

We asked for another room because our room was unacceptable. We were not offered another room and checked in early. We were told the room we reserved was not at the level of any other available room. The attendants were very rude and kept making the same statement. However, our money was returned promptly.

The check in staff was great, Tony at the front desk was out standing and great and help to start of our vacation.

Excellent staff assistance....always cheeerful, professional and they knew what they were talking about. Very nice no-frills room (which i like). Very comfortable and large king sized bed. The guys who cleaned the room did a great job. It seems lately in hotels, they do no daily cleaning....they did it here, which i appreciate. Bus wsas right outside my room. Excellent.

Conveniently located 15-minute walk to Bar Harbor. Check-In office was a little challenging to find. Room smelled musty.

Yes, this is an older property, our room was comfortable, quiet, well maintained, and clean. It was also the best available value for our dollar, given that we chose to spend most of our time exploring Acadia and vicinity rather than at the inn. The free island shuttle stopped right outside our door, making it easy to get into Bar Harbor and back when we didn't feel like walking. The Looking Glass restaurant, just up the hill, was perfect for breakfast, with tasty food and stunning views of the bay and islands.

The Wonder View is in a good location, walkable to Bar Harbor attractions. plus it is a stop on one of the free shuttles that travel the area from the village. This hotel is just a few minutes drive from Acadia National Park. The rooms are a bit dated, very small bathroom but we did have a nice and peaceful view from our deck, back a ways from the busy road.

we Had a fantastic time staying at wonderview. Only problem is with GPS finding place. Once we learned way around it was great. The property is conveniently located .Easy to walk to town and close to Acadia. Pools were great and never crowded. Workers were very friendly and helpful with suggestions on where to eat and things to do. We will return.

Wonder View was a really nice stay - not fancy - but still great. Clean room, comfy king bed, good water pressure in the shower, easy to have my dog there (all of Bar Harbor is great for dog-owners). And it's on the Island Shuttle Bus route, which is free and amazing - whether you want to go for a hike or downtown for dinner. Definitely recommend.

Very lovely place! A short walk from bar harbor and all the restaurants. A Shuttle bus is also available at the hotel to get to bar harvor and/or other cool spots on MDI.

I love the location of this property. So close to downtown Bar Harbor but still felt like you were in the National park with the forests surrounding you. The breakfast restaurant had amazing views AND great food/service.

it was a wonderful experience and I wish we were able to stay longer. It was like taking a step back in time staying there. The pianist that played in the bar in the evening was fabulous. The entire feel of the place was just lovely. I would 100% recommend and love to come back. Had breakfast in the looking glass and my goodness the view was breathtaking.

We expected a nicer room for $380. This was just a motel room. Needs new mattress. The view was of the lawn. We waited almost an hour for breakfast.

Cute place to stay with a nice view. Could use some updates. I had an issue with a broken fence piece on our balcony and I have toddler so I felt it was unsafe for him but they resolved it quickly. When you first arrive it was confusing on where to go because there is also another hotel on the property. The restaurant wasn’t open all the time, like lunch/dinner. It’s only breakfast 7-11 and closed Tuesday (which is the morning we arrived). That was a little frustrating with a hungry family. Other than that, it was a cute getaway and close to Acadia and the Village. It does offer an indoor pool with a little gym and sauna. (FYI the indoor pool was suppose to be heated but it was freezing in my opinion). There is also an outdoor pool, but we didn’t use that one. Pool towels are offered so no need to pack towels if you’re not going to the beach. The cleaning staff was very friendly and generous when we needed extra towels for our stay.

What a great place to stay. Just a half a mile from the town of Bar Harbor and the Marina. Very comfortable bed! The restaurant the Looking Glass served a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed our 3 night stay very much.

Nice clean rooms. Pretty views of Bar Harbor. Close to Acadia National Park. There is a shuttle that takes you downtown and to the park. Wonderview is part of the Bluenose Inn which is a bit awkward as you have to check in and out there. Wonderful piano bar nightly. Bill Trowell the pianist is very talented.
