Chic modern hotel, vary comfortable! A bit small but nice room features like great full size shower gel and lotion. There were also classes like yoga but missed. There's a rooftop pool but it was so crowded. Note the parking garage not part of hotel, was around the corner a bit of a hassle. Also nice that guests are given $15 discounts but can only use at rooftop. I tried to use it for breakfast the morning I checked out but shocked unable to use it. Also the cafe was so unpleasant and staff ignored me foe nearly 5 minutes!

Comfortable and cozy room with the basics done well. Good mattress. Gym was very large and well-equipped for a hotel facility. I did not check out the pool.

The hotel was amazing the only things that were a bit unsettling was the additional “urban fee” and that parking had in and out privileges except between 12am and 6am other than that great hotel love my balcony room.

Great location, great restaurants although the bar was really noisy on the rooftop. The elevators were really slow and at times, felt like only one of four was ever working. The TV in the room kept going in and out. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay!

Good location, very walkable and easy to get to all touristy stuff. Comfortable and clean. Great gym for those who like to workout. Rooftop bar is lively on weekends and looks to be more for a younger crowd. But, there is also a nice bar attached to the restaurant for those who prefer a quieter atmosphere. Overall a great stay.

I really enjoyed this boutique hotel! Only giving 4 stars because the roof bar was so loud after 10 pm (quiet hours)… I was on floor 11 and it felt like I was at the party. Not great for early conference.

It’s a nice looking hotel & they have friendly, helpful staff. Location is convenient & near the metro. BUT the rooftop bar parties are loud & occupy ALL the elevators all evening. Even on Sunday night. It’s also hot in lobby where you wait in line on the elevators as drunk party goers are stuffed into the elevators like sardines on their way down from the roof. Perhaps Arlo should just designate one or two elevators specifically for the roof bar!! Can hear roof bar dj music 3 blocks away - so easy to locate the Arlo coming back in the dark from metro, lol. Never got to use the pool in evening as next to the loud packed bar - pool is small. They charge a fee for amenities & you don’t really get to use. In our two queens room it was actually fairly quiet & comfy but very crowded in all the public spaces over the 3 nights we stayed. Mini fridge was convenient - tho hard to find any ice. I’d stay again if i knew for sure it was not a rooftop dj night. Shower worked great & bed was comfy.

All good with the hotel, but what really stood out was the gym. Better equipped than subscription gyms.

We liked hotel but indoor garage with EV charging station was not available from 12:00am to 6:00am. We drove from Toronto and arrived at 2:00am. I inquired with hotel regarding EV charging station before we arrived and I notified them for late arrival, but I was not informed that the garage was closed after 12:00am. We had to park at street parking and our car didn’t get charged. It impact our entire plan.

This was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. The bed was comfortable, the price was affordable, and the staff was excellent. We encountered only one issue with noise during our stay. I texted the front desk, and they shut it down immediately. Highly recommend.

You couldn’t use voucher for breakfast which was disappointing. Bed cover was dirty.

The hotel is really nice and new but we found what looked to us like a bed bug in our bed (I have photos and videos) but the manager who didn’t even come and look at it personally called to say it’s nothing to worry about and rejected our concerns. He was rude and did his best to downplay and reject our concerns and did the bare minimum to make us feel better about the situation. We had no choice but to stay in that room that night and were moved to another room late the following afternoon. Also when we returned on the Sunday evening there was 5 police cars full of officers trying to disperse people from a roof top party meant for hotel guests but was predominantly attended by locals. Wasn’t a great look for a nice hotel.

This is not a 4 star hotel!! The place is dirty our carpet was so dirty is was concerning. The walls were all marked up and damaged. No sheet on the bed. The blinds didn’t function properly. The worst part is we were charged for parking by the hotel and by the parking garage!! I would not recommend staying here.

Great stay! Clean room and bathroom.

A very nice hotel, very good service and the room comfortable and nice. We liked it a lot! Unfortunately, there was a sole bad point, one night our room smelled of marijuana, it seems that somebody was smoking in other room. I travelled with children and this was not nice.

Best hotel we stayed in during our US vacation. Very comfortable, stylish and perfectly clean. We loved it highly recommend this hotel!

The Arlo is always very clean and modern. I even asked really nice for extra fortune cookies and they delivered. They stock your room with fresh water everyday and the hotel staff are all really nice.

This hotel is overpriced. It’s got a great lobby and good service outside of the restaurant. The food and service at the restaurant was mediocre - they really wanted us to order alcoholic drinks and weren’t that interested otherwise. The food was bland. This is a place with a “resort fee” like everywhere now, where they try to hype all these inclusives that would otherwise be free - a gym, a workout app (just use your own or YouTube?), a 15% or $15 discount off of food - we heard both, etc. The rooms were fairly basic. Not worth the money.

Room was clean and in great location. However, desk was tiny if you need to work and closet space/dresser was also less than typical. The closet could not allow you to hang a full length dress only shirts.

The hotel ventilation system needs some work. To be a brand new hotel, the rooms felt very muggy & the sheets even felt damp. The pool is literally not an actual pool, it's very small, so that was a little disappointing. For the food, it would've been nice to have some complimentary options since the main restaurant was closed for renovations, which is what really drew us to staying at Arlo. Additionally, when we first got to the hotel, we only had 1 washcloth in our room & it was impossible to get in touch with someone through the phone system. It was a busy weekend there & I can tell the staff was doing their best, so no issues there. But, the main thing we had an issue with was the lack of ventilation.

King suite with the sitting area was wonderful

The room was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great and kept the room at a consistent temperature. No balcony.

We enjoyed the layout and cleanliness of the hotel. Speedy elevators and wifi. Location suited us. Didn’t love that the non city view rooms stare directly into other hotel rooms / no light filtering shades or sheer curtains to pull shut so it’s all or nothing.

Great area, beautiful hotel. Very slow service, I asked for a change of sheets, I was told they don’t have sheets, Wi-Fi was terrible so the tv was constantly going in and out.

Fantastic stay. The rooms are very modern and generous. The only downside was the flaky Wi-Fi connection. It kept intermittently dropping out.

Balcony room was surprisingly large, comfortable, relatively quiet. Friendly staff. The restaurant is expensive and the food is surprisingly poor for the price, particularly the breakfast.

It's a nice hotel with a lack of management. Many people don't understand their responsibilities. Technology that doesn’t work in hospitality. You can not speak to the front desk from the room phone; you talk with an automated machine with no result.

The front desk staff were always so super nice. The rooms were nice and so was the bathroom. Everything was in very nice condition and clean. I hate how much resort fees can be and urban fees on top of that too lol. The only thing we didn’t like is that front desk and email confirmation said that checkout was 12pm but cleaning staff said it was 11am and we had to check out immediately because it was a bit past 11am. So I don’t know what is right. But I’m going off of the confirmation messages/emails and front desk. Something is out of sync there

I was put on 2nd floor, directly above entrance door. This hotel has night club. 11:15 pm it was so loud outside it sounded like people were in my room. Called front desk and told they weren’t responsible for outside people. No but they were responsible for comfort of guests. In morning aske to switch. I was told I would have to wait until 4pm for decision. At 4 was told to go my room and they would come up with a new room key and a dolly to move luggage.I waited 1 hour and called twice. Finally a guy came up with a key and no dolly. I had to lug 3 suitcase up 3 floors. I was in tears. Next room was smaller but not over entrance. Horrible service

It wasn't in a super exciting part of town--mostly big office buildings, but easy access to parking garage, a Tatte around the corner for breakfast, and close to the Judiciary Square Metro stop that made it easy to get around. Highly recommend!

My stay at the Arlo Washington DC was absolutely wonderful, far exceeding my expectation. The hotel’s location was within walking distance of popular landmarks. The room was spacious, very comfortable, and impeccably clean aside from the modern features. What stood out the most to me was the friendliest welcome I received from Troy at the front, which was something needed after a long day and drive before arriving there late at night. Troy was very helpful and that hospitality was very much appreciated. Thank you so much and I will definitely be staying here again next time in DC!

We couldn't check into our room until after 9pm even though we dropped off our bags earlier in the day and were told that our room would be ready by 3pm. Staff were not compassionate and only offered free drinks/breakfast vouchers after I complained. Shame as the hotel itself is very nice but the service seriously lacking.

Comfortable Stay with Seniors, but Disrespectful Service Moments I stayed one night at Arlo Washington DC with my senior citizen parents. As an Expedia Blue Premium member, I expected a smoother and more respectful experience. While there were some positives, multiple service gaps left us disappointed. Positives: • Smooth check-in • Room and washroom were clean • Housekeeping was helpful, despite a language barrier (staff spoke Spanish; I speak English) • Restaurant staff was polite and professional • A 30-minute late checkout was granted, and a short grace period was appreciated Issues That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked: • The room had very limited walking space and did not meet expectations • AC wasn’t working at check-in; after it was fixed, a technician oddly returned again • The hotel’s AI phone system made real communication difficult • A $15 restaurant discount was honored at the restaurant but rejected at checkout, which felt disrespectful and dismissive — it was only honored after cross-verification • I’m still disputing a 20% tax charged on restaurant food, which feels excessive • Luggage assistance took 25 minutes after checkout, during which time the room’s AC had been shut off, making the wait extremely uncomfortable for me and my elderly parents Inconsistent communication at the front desk — I received an email confirming a 12 PM checkout, but was told at check-in that it was a mistake. Although it was eventually honored, the situation was poorly hand

Had issues trying to get a cab to pick me up. Two separate young women who were supposed to provide service fell extremely short. The manager took my concerns after the first issue and offered me a free drink. I didn’t bother to report the second one but I will say this. Customer service means to engage in a meaningful and positive manner with the guest from the start of the transaction until the request is met. I doubt if I will stay there again.

I booked a stay at Arlo Hotel in DC through Expedia, and while the hotel has potential, my experience left much to be desired. The positives: The hotel is new, the rooms are very clean, and the design is modern and appealing. The negatives: The billing process was chaotic. I noticed several incorrect and unexplained charges. The back-and-forth communication to resolve these issues was exhausting, and while the hotel admitted errors, it shouldn’t take this much effort to get clarity. While Expedia might have contributed to some of the miscommunication, the primary issue lies with the hotel’s billing and customer service processes. The hotel might improve with time, but I can’t recommend staying here in the near future. I won’t be returning for my next trip.

The Arlo was a great stay for our fist trip to DC. We hope to be back again. Conveniently located - with a short 15 minute walk to the National Mall and tons of other amazing restaurants.

Convenient and quiet location.

The room was very nice. The hotel is great especially for the price. Really close to the Capital One Arena. Which is why we wanted to stay there.

The hotel is very nice and I would definitely come back. Everything is in very good condition and clean. The staff is helpful and nice. The only minus is that the rooftop bar is most of the days a party location with very loud music and crowds of non hotel guests, which does not allow a chilled evening with good drinks. In particular, as the rooftop is closed on the other days.

Excellent location - could walk to many museums, the capital, etc. and was close to a metro station for things further afield. Room was great as was the fitness center. There are lots of Lufthansa staff staying in the hotel so the lobby was frequently crowded with staff waiting to check in or out; however, we were usually taken care of separately from the crowd. We had breakfast at grab-n-go cafe onsite but preferred the Tatte Cafe just a few minutes walk away. We were slightly disappointed that the rooftop pool / restaurant were closed, but not a big deal.

Didn’t understand why we were given a $15 voucher for food and the restaurant was closed for repair and it was not good for breakfast either. Do deceiving. The $15 was part of my booking fee and I was unable to use. I had made reservation for 4 people and only got two blankets. I called the front desk 3 times to get my blankets. I guess they were not paying attention at the amount of guests. We ended up having breakfast at the hotel and paid for the processing fees to use the credit card. So annoying for the unnecessary charges. Place was nice and clean but not customer friendly. The guy at the front door was extremely nice and attentive.

The hotel itself was nice. Room was comfortable and it had a small but nice pool on rooftop. The rooftop bar appears to be local party central which causes a lot of elevator congestion for guests that are staying overnight. It didn’t blend well. The coupons for $15 off food or beverage at rooftop bar or restaurant were not used as restaurant was pretty high- end and not kid friendly and rooftop bar was packed. I didn’t even want to fight my way thru to get something.

The hotel is in a great location for site seeing. There were a number of food options - the food in the restaurant was great and reasonably priced. The cafe shop did a great breakfast. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Would stay here again

The Spanish inspired restaurant did not disappoint. The breakfast buy in was a great value added to our stay…definitely coming back to this hotel.

We booked a "city view" room but the view was the street and building next door. The cafe in the lobby had pretty good food and drinks. The bar upstairs had a fun vibe but drinks were pricey at about $20 each. The location was nice at about 1/4 mile from the metro. We asked for fresh towels one evening because they didnt clean our room but the towels never came. Overall, it was a decent hotel but not outstanding.
