Room was a bit dated…. Beds were definitely worn down… no microwave in room… we were thrilled to see a coffee maker, but it turned out not to work. I requested another one… it too, was broken! Staff didn’t ask us whether we got the coffee pot or anything about it. Didn’t even ask how our stay was. We went to go use the pool and it too was closed… maintenance… this was not mentioned on the website, nor at check in… the only saving grace was Wanda in the Alcock and Brown restaurant!! She was amazing and very kind! She made us feel like family and not hotel patrons! This hotel needs some updating… we left disillusioned…

The room was very clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We enjoyed sitting out in the courtyard and relaxing in the evening. The onsite restaurant was good for dinner and breakfast. The location is excellent for airport access. This hotel was perfect for us for one night before our flight out in the morning. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were very happy with our stay.

The location was excellent for having it as a "home-base" for the week A few disappointments with the pool being closed for maintenance during our stay. That was one of the reasons we chose Quality! And the other small issues were resolved immediately with the attentive and very friendly staff! They are there for you!!!

We were very happy with the room. It has a microwave and large fridge. The 2 beds were fine. The breakfast and pool were very good. We just had a small problem with adding a day (my fault ?)

We enjoyed the location and the staff were very helpful and accomodating. We were disappointed that the pool was not accessible, access to the pool deck was but to the pool itself was only a ladder and not very sturdy either.

Room was ok. Towels are from 1980. Pool was extremely dirty. From cloudy water, hair floating and to a film of grim along the whole wall of the water line. Breakfast “buffet” was a joke. Not even edible.

There was black mould in the bath tub and mould spores in the exhaust vent. If I had anywhere else to stay I would've left, but all the other hotels in town were already booked up. Can't believe this place can justify charging almost $200/night. Towels and toilet paper are like sandpaper. The bed was fine.

Gander was just an overnight stop on our way from Rocky Harbour to Bonavista, but the Quality Inn was just what we needed. Clean and comfy bed, nice bathroom. Our room did smell pretty strongly of body odour...so we left the window open while we went to the museum and for dinner and it helped a little. We also got a pack n play for our toddler, and it had a banana slice in it, so maybe not cleaned well. Overall, it was a fine stay. Food at the restaurant was delicious and breakfast was all we needed. Pool was closed during our stay.

Good location. Price way too high for quality of this hotel. Breakfast was ok but limited choices. Staff were accommodating. It was quiet considering the hotel was full. The bed was nice and we had an older love seat in the room could use an upgrade. No daily room service and you have to call the front desk if you need anything.

Hotel was fine after I requested a room change as they very obviously forgot to vacuum after the last guest. I was disappointed that they were not apologetic at all for the inconvenience. I mentioned it again at check out and after some discussion was offered a small reduction in cost. Other than this all was good.

Two nights . Central and east to find as on the side of highway #1. The pool was not working- total disappointment for us. The room had an outside access to unload and load up the car- bonus. Downside- “tired” furniture, very stained carpet between the two beds, long black hairs around the bathtub. I had to clean it before using the shower. Thin towels. Upside was the staff at the desk and in the dining room. Good many choices and delicious food, large portions.

Stayed here recently while in town for a family funeral. The room appeared clean at first glance, and the sheets themselves looked fresh. However, the bed had a strong, unmistakable smell of urine that couldn’t be ignored. Unfortunately, it was very late when I went to bed and noticed it. Due to the reason I was staying in Gander, I didn’t have the bandwidth to pack up the full room in the middle of the night to try to get the room switched. I ended up changing out of my pajamas, which now also smelled of urine, and slept on top of the bedclothes. In the morning, I spoke with the front desk to alert them about the situation. They were very polite and understanding, but said there was nothing they could do since the room had been booked through Expedia. Overall, while the staff were kind, the condition of the bed was completely unacceptable. I honestly don’t know how the bed could have been made without noticing! Clean sheets don’t make up for an unclean mattress. Hopefully, management takes this feedback seriously and addresses it for future guests.

The Staff in both the hotel and Alcock restaurant were amazing. Very helpful, pleasant manners and never hesitate, even during their busiest times, to ask where you’re from and how you are doing. The housekeeping staff do a wonderful job cleaning. Unfortunately the carpet in the room held all the previous occupants’ oodours. Our room in particular smelled of cigarette smoke and dirty feet!

The property is older but quaint. I didn't end up using the restaurant facilities but it's nice they were there. The TV in my room was incredibly small and the reception was almost unwatchable (due to the age of the set I assume). The channel selection and entertainment options were far below average for the price I paid.

After tye furst night I was very satisfied. Unfortunately, on the second night much of the hotel was occupied by children (aged approx 8 to 12) and their parents/coaches for a sports event. Sadly, the 'responsible adults' allowed their charges to run around the corridors until 11.30pm. I have led many school and youth group trips with children aged 11 to 18 to everything from campsites to 4-star hotels, we set clear rules in areas where they were likely to interact with the public. They were made well aware of the consequences of complaints or disrespectful behaviour. It's a shame that no-one took charge of this situation last night. I also didn't appreciate the smell of pot drifting up through the air con vents from the outside social area.

The nightly rate was very expensive. $450+ per night for this hotel in this location is more than I’ve experienced in larger cities and of a better quality. During our stay, there were many groups of kids for various athletic competitions (swimming and baseball) and the noise during the early and late evening was absolutely ridiculous. They were running up and down the halls, yelling and screaming and stomping. This did not lit up until after 11 PM.

Beds were very soft (saggy) and they also creaked with every movement. Otherwise the room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast bar is too crowded with all options on one counter resulting in long lines.

Quality Hotel is located on the TransCanada in Gander but it it very quiet at night. The rooms were large and we were able to park directly infront of our room door. Breakfast was great for us, and we loved making our own waffles. The Aviation Museum is practically across the street. A variety of fast food outlets are close by and there is a restaurant in the hotel that serves decent food. Wifi was a bit slow. The staff is EXCELLENT and very helpful.

Inflexible in altering reservation. Had reservation for two consecutive nights, reserved, at different times. Asked to have the first room for the second night. Was told that wasn’t possible so we had to check out then check in again.

Our check in was not good. We checked in about 50 minutes past the check in time and our rooms were not clean or ready. We were told that they could not give us a time of when they would be ready. The staff went to speak to the manager, who at no point, came out to speak to us, apologize, offer any options, etc. We waited for about 20-25 minutes in the lobby, with our luggage, when the manager came out and “checked in our rooms”. They were then ready for us. Check in time was 4:00. We did not get into our room until approximately 5:15-5:20, to which we had to postpone our supper reservation. Other than that the room and our stay was fine but the checkin process was not very pleasant.

Ive stayed here before with no issues but this time, there was no heat in my room on check-in. It was only 56F (13C) in the room. The thermostat wasnt working. Rather than move me, front desk clerk called maintenance who showed up 35 minutes later, after i made a 3rs trip to the front desk. He came, left and came back with batteries for the digital thermostat. It took over 2 hours to warm up my room with the baseboard heater. I sat in my coat and boots in my room until bed time and then slept in my sweater. On check-out, the clerk inquired about whether the heater was fixed but no appology was made, no discount on room due to 3rd party booking. There is also dog food in the heater.

Check-in was a zoo. We showed up at 3:45; check-in was at 4. At 4:30 I was told it would be just 10 more minutes; finally got the room at 5. There are two elevators; one was out of order. The hotel was fairly full; we were on the fourth floor. Loads of waiting time to get up and down. Even the vending machine didn't work. Not a happy experience. There are, however, few alternatives in Gander.

We were visiting Gander for the Come From Away experience and enjoyed it all immensely. Quality Hotel & Suites is clean, convenient and close to the airport and everything in town. The staff there is friendly and helpful! Breakfast on-site is enjoyable and the dining room is spacious and bright. The Visitor's Center is just down from the hotel and a Tim Horton's and gas station are right across the street. We got to see the play at the Smallwood Theater, the World Trade steel at all three sites, and were Screeched-In at the Legion Hall with Beulah, Oz and Brian. And we drove up the highway a bit to The Silent Witness Memorial - that is so very special. The people of Gander truly are open, hospitable and caring.
