Hotel Real Palacio

Staff was very good and attentive. Room was poor, parking was poor, gym was poor due to treadmilla not working. Men's change room not available.

Great room and friendly staff. Hotel in a nice quiet area out of the main centre. 5 minute walk to a metro station. Unfortunately during our stay the spa and hot tub were closed for refurbishment and the gym also needs some attention.

Beautiful room in the "old" part of the palace- stylish and luxurious. Palace art and details were appreciated and the view from my room was 4 corners! Location is slightly off the beaten track but in the center so I really got my bearings here. I fell in love with Lisbon because of these first nights here and re-booked 2x during my trip. Breakfast is a must and super good, the sports bar surprisingly cool and the restaurant great for a hotel. Staff were helpful, friendly, positive and kind. I will be back.

Nice size rooms for European hotel. Breakfast was good and paling was ample. Check in was easy.

This hotel very much in need of some updates. Small suiting area off lobby with couches that are completely worn out. Upon sitting in them you sink neatly too the floor. Beds are uncomfortable and pillows old and no flexibility. The parking garage under hotel. To get down with your car is treacherous, to say the least. The curves are SO TIGHT!! ( I’m from NYC I know tight space) we thought we were going to get stuck! Staff at desk not super friendly. Breakfast though was ample, plenty for any type of diet. Shower hot and water pressure great. Overall ok, but needs some upgrades.

The hotel was extremely clean and in good condition but showing its age. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. I was very disappointed that the hot tub in the spa area was not working during our three night stay. After a long day of sightseeing I was looking forward to using the Spa facilities including the hot tub. As a result of it not working I didn’t utilize the Spa area at all. The buffet breakfast was delicious and had a large variety of fresh food and baked goods. The serving staff at the buffet table were friendly, efficient and professional. I had a nice surprise from the front desk on our first night when they sent up a complimentary bottle of champagne in ice as well as a beautiful plate of chocolate truffles. It was a very nice touch.

Hotel ist bereits in die Jahre gekommen und liegt auch nicht direkt in der touristischen Zone von Lissabon. Mann muss ca. 30 Minuten durch fragwürdige Gegend laufen. Ansonsten auch kein Pool und Frühstücksraum im Keller ist alt und viel zu klein. Unser mit Abstand schlechtestes Frühstück der Reise!

The hotel was clean. The staff friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and user friendly. The balcony contained a table for two. The bed was comfortable. The gym had aerobic machines and weights. Massages and jacuzzi was available. The grocery store and pharmacy was close by. Conveniently located for walking here and there.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Real Palacio. Clean, great location, helpful staff and a great breakfast buffet. The lobby and common areas are beautiful. I didn't really consider going to a sports bar in Lisbon, but the one in the hotel was great!

The room was very clean. The staff was very helpful. It was a very comfortable room with the right temperature. I didn’t need to use the gym, but there is an option.

Disappointing Experience – Not a 5-Star Hotel by Any Means This hotel may have been considered five-star in the past, but unfortunately, that no longer seems to be the case. From the moment we arrived, the room key cards were a constant issue. They repeatedly stopped working, and each time we had to return to reception to have them reactivated—often waiting in long queues just to access our own room. This quickly became frustrating and unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed calibre. While the hotel advertises several beautiful restaurants and bars, they were all closed during breakfast hours. Instead, breakfast was served in a dull, uninviting conference room with poor lighting and zero atmosphere. Even worse, there was no fresh coffee—only a machine with powdered milk. I’ve been to Lisbon many times and have stayed in both four and five-star hotels, and I’ve never experienced breakfast of such low quality. As seen in my photos, the room itself was also disappointing—stained carpets, an unpleasant view, and a high level of street noise that made it difficult to rest. To top it off, we noticed a bag of leftover Uber Eats food sitting outside a room in the hallway for two full days, creating a bad smell throughout the floor. Overall, this hotel was a major letdown. Save your money and look elsewhere—you can find much better value and service elsewhere in Lisbon!

Personnel super sympathique… par contre un bruit constant d’eau qui coule et le mini bar qui n’avait pas été nettoyé… dommage

Bra läge. Nära till Metro och bussar. Nära till stor livsmedelsbutik. Flera restauranger i närheten samt en bra restaurang på hotellet. Bubbelpool är skönt efter en dag ute på stan. Mycket bra frukostbuffe. Skön ångbastu. Enda negativa, smutsig heltäckningsmatta i rummet.

Rooms were very outdated and dirty. Carpet had stains all over it. Bathroom toilet was not cleaned well when we checked in. They charged you for making the nespresso coffee in the room. I stayed 4 nights and they only provided me with one bottle of water. The only good thing is the location of the hotel.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't rate this hotel as a 5 star. The rooms are outdated, the AC is not very functional and there were ants in the bathroom. The breakfast is OK, but it's unfortunate that it is in a convential hall when they have nicer dining areas in the hotel.

it is clean but some of the furniture is old ..for example the tub front has visible corrosion on the panels.. yick...

Rooms are run down and need updating and some tlc. Our room had lots of ants and the a/c was not working.

Good location, metro nearby. Have seen complaints of breakfast but its fresh and plenty to eat. Coffee ok, if you want top coffee there are lots of excellent coffee shops 5 mins away. For a city break this hotel is very good and well located. If you want luxury you will have to pay a lot more. Room was clean. Compared to similar priced hotels in London this is way better. I will return when coming back to Lisboa which i intend to do.

Very clean, friendly staff and great food in the restaurant.

Watch out for odd bathroom shower / bath design. Way too easy to flood the room.

Breakfast is very good. Hotel is beautiful. The biggest problem is no WiFi or WiFi super slow during most of our stay; Second is the travel size hair dryer in our room. It took forever and still didn’t dry my thin hair, very hot air, I didn’t feel safe to use it.

This is a well-appointed hotel, and our room was comfortable and spacious. Staff were very helpful, and spoke embarrassingly good English. The food was prepared to a very high standard. There is a nearby metro station that takes you straight through to the airport in about 20 minutes.

A bit noisy-we could here talking outside and the church bell ringing hourly.

Overall the hotel was good. Though not quite up to the standard of 5 star rating. Still like a 3 star hotel to me. Plus side, room was clean and the bathroom was nice. Breakfast had some inconsistencies but overall good. The biggest downside was the room temperature control. It got too warm and a bit sweaty and had to open the window for cool air. We mentioned it but I don't think they did not actively did anything as no one got back to us. Oh also, I really cannot believe we had to pay for coffee in the room. Tea was free but no milk available unless you paid for it.

The A/C in the room was not working, and the staff the hotel were not informed anything. I am not recommended this hotel.

I hate to write a review like this, but it is deserved. This is a FIVE star hotel in a great location. The hotel itself is nice, modern, and desrving of its 5-star status from a physical point of view. However, every single employee (with the exception of one young lady in the evening) is absolutely cold and unwelcoming. They made you feel like you were bothering them simply by checking in. This is not a cultural issue as we were in Lisbon the week prior, stayed at a 4-star hotel, and the staf was an absolute delight. This place is absolutely unbelievable, almost as if the manager was trying to sabotage the hotel with surly staff. If a nice property is in your vision, this place will work, if you want to be welcomed as a guest and be treated with respect, go elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this hotel due to a poor stay and micro-aggressions experienced at this establishment. The staff weren’t friendly or helpful. The hotel is also outdated and doesn’t reflect five star hotel quality.

As a VIP gold member and a returning client to Real Palacio Hotel, I was very disappointed that my room upgrade was not given to me since on Expedia app there was every day until my checkout 8 executive rooms and one suite available for sale The receptionist said no upgrades available, very disappointing as a repeat customer to real Palacio and long time gold member with Expedia Also room was not available before waiting 50 minutes for maid to clean room , I had to go remind the receptionist if was cleaned after her telling me at check-in that it wound not be long for room to be cleaned . Breakfast staff were excellent especially Rita with red hair , the team leader at the breakfast desk, and the breakfast manager.

The staff was great, very helpful and kind, the room was great, location as well… I have nothing bad to say

When the property noted our age and know that people over 80 may have problem negotiating multiple floors , they placed us on the first floor !! That started our stay on a positive note !! The breakfast here is outstanding ! The staff very professional and friendly !! Highly recommend !!!

Staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. Stayed for 3 nights initially, traveled outside Lisbon for a few days and returned for a last night before departure home. Hotel sent us a bottle of wine and pastries as a thank you. Restaurant had good food. Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Unkindness of the front desk staff

Clea, safe, near three different metro stops and a few bars, cafes, and restaurants.

We - two adults and three teenagers - loved this hotel, where we stayed for three nights. Great location - very close to a metro station where both the "red line" (from the Airport) and the "blue line" (going downtown) stopped. Very nice, quiet and elegant neighborhood, with pleasant restaurants and a superb huge shopping center just across the street. Super friendly and nice staff - the reception very helpful and the breakfast staff were great too. Spacious rooms and overall very fresh and orderly. We would love to come back.

The hotel is located well just north of the centre with good metro connections around 5-10 mins walk away. Nice local coffee shops and restaurants without the bustle of central Lisbon. Hotel itself is clean and tidy in the public spaces, rooms are in need of an upgrade, small things needed like phone charging points, decent hairdryers and not having to pay for bottled water. Breakfast was abundant, great choice in the buffet, but was fairly crowded in the space available, felt a little claustrophobic and not a relaxed start to the day.

We stayed at the Hotel Real Palacio 7-nights. The location of the hotel is very easy to reach from the Airport, and walkable to the City Centre (Rossio Square). We enjoyed a variety of foods in breakfast. The Personnel of every service were so kind. Briefly, we were appreciated to stay at the Hotel. Thanks!

徒歩4分程の位置に地下鉄(S.Sebastiao駅)があるので便利です。近くにスーパー(pingo doce)もあります。朝食ビュッフェは種類も豊富で、どれも美味しかったです。部屋のシャワーは熱いお湯もしっかり出て、清掃も行き届いているようでしたので特段気になることはなかったです。スタッフさんはどなたも親切でした。

Hotel absolutamente recomendable. Un 5 estrellas de verdad. El servicio genial, amables y eficientes; las habitaciones buenas, el baño muy cómodo, y el desayuno estupendo. No es un hotel situado en el centro, pero si vas con coche para hacer excursiones, está genial situado. Repetiremos! Gracias por todo

The location was very nice: quiet and safe neighborhood, lots of good cafes and restaurants around the hotel. It’s also a convenient: walking distance to Eduardo VII Park, Gulbenkian museum, and El Corte Ingres. Staff were friendly and helpful. We’d like to revisit Real Palacio when we come back to Lisbon!

The hotel itself was OK, but the service, and in particular the bar service was very very slow. Food not good.

The hotel has many technical and managerial issues: To begin with, the hotel has numerous broken amenities. The spa, the elevator, and the wifi. It's disheartening to see a hotel that could have easily been a five-star establishment decades ago fall so far behind the times. It's clear that the senior management has neglected the necessary updates and maintenance required to keep the hotel up to par with modern standards. Last but not least, the breakfast waiting line, 40 minutes waiting for a table, it is a disgrace since the breakfast itself was wonderful.

Das Hotel hat offiziell 5 Sterne, was für mich allerdings nicht nachvollziehbar ist. 4 Sterne fänd ich gerechtfertigt. Alles wirkt etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Ich finde Badewannen mit oberschenkelhohem Einstieg und Duschvorhang einfach nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Der Frühstücksraum befindet sich im Keller, hat also keine Fenster. Er ist viel zu klein, wir mussten jeden Tag warten, bis ein Tisch frei wird. Das Frühstücksbuffet hat alles, was man braucht, aber es war jetzt auch ehrlichgesagt nichts besonderes. Die Begrüßung an der Rezeption war bei uns auch eher verhalten. Die Dame wirkte schlecht gelaunt und eher wie ein Feldwebel. Lächeln und Herzlichkeit - Fehlanzeige. Aber gut, dass war wohl Pech, es kommt halt drauf an, an wen man gerät und andere Kollegen sind sicher netter. Die Lage des Hotels ist ganz gut, wenn man sich bewusst macht, dass man nicht direkt "downtown" wohnt. Aber man hat 3 verschiedene Metro-Linien (u.a. die zum Flughafen) in der unmittelbaren Umgebung, so dass man schnell z.B. in Baixa/Chiado ist. Preis war okay und deutlich günstiger als die 4-Sterne-Hotels im Chiado. Also alles in allem würde ich das Hotel schon weiterempfehlen und auch wieder dort wohnen, aber wer 5-Sterne-Komfort erwartet, wird etwas enttäuscht.
