The lobby has great character, the rooms are nice and modern with nods to the past. There is a roof top terrace which is probably lovely on a summer evening and the front porch has character. Parking is included but the lot was a bit of challenge, especially as the hotel was busy. Easy walk to downtown and to the water.

Personally I think this hotel is "over-sold". It's expensive, which is fine but the value for your money is lacking. Parking is out behind the hotel, if you can find a spot because it's also a public lot. The main floor of the hotel is very noisy. The day we checked in there was a function in the main ballroom which spilled out into the main lobby which made it very difficult to check in. The rooms are nice but very small and very noisy. You can hear every noise from the hallway. We happened to get stuck with a room right beside the elevator and all night all we heard was the groan of the elevator machinery. To sum up, I would not stay at this hotel again and cannot recommend it to others.

The common areas are really nice, the staff super friendly and the location is excellent, BUT unless you are staying in a renovated room I would pass on this hotel. The room we stayed in smelled strongly of old stale cigarette smoke, and so did the hall leading to the room. The walls are super thin too so we could hear our neighbour’s activities and the elevator mechanics. The bathroom was very clean because it was renovated. If you do stay here be sure to go to the rooftop it has amazing views of Charlottetown.

The hotel located in a quiet but very convenient place. It is close to everything. The most of the places of charlotte town are in walking distance. There is a nice outdoor patio garden which is very nice. Sitting outside with a glass of wine ends a perfect day of the trip.

The room was a good size and comfortable. And the staff all great! Friendly and helpful. The property itself is a bit dated- it’s a lovely historic site but the carpeting and upholstery is worn and stained in rooms and hallways, marks on walls etc. Could use some freshening up. My room wasn’t very clean when I arrived- there were game prières on the floor and snacks in the chair that had obviously come from previous guest. Susquequent room cleanings were fine. A lot of noise/dust from outside construction but the staff managed to move me to a room On the other side of the building. Overall, nice enough hotel- location is great and would stay there again. Just not wowed

It was nice, but the shower was probably the worst I’ve ever had (took literally 5 mins to warm up and the pressure was pretty much a trickle) and it was the noisiest room I’ve ever stayed in. I could hear word-for-word what the neighbouring guests were saying. I did enjoy my stay otherwise and the staff was all very friendly. The hotel was fine, just a bit rundown looking.

The updated executive rings were clean with nice engineered wood floors and a good queen mattress. The fridge and water provided were a nice touch. The bathroom was updated and clean but very small and a large person could not possibly sit on the toilet that is against the wall and between a small sink. The hotel is in a great location. Main lobby was disappointing. Not as grand as in pictures and very dim. We found it nice but too expensive for what you get. The hotel had a very loud HVAC system which you can hear if you sit on their lovely terrace. The room ac is also very loud

We spent 3 days at the Rodd and enjoyed our stay. Very convenient location and walkable. It is an older property but has a historic charm and seems well maintained. The room was on the smaller side but the beds were comfortable. There is a mini fridge, which is very helpful when you have kids snacks or leftovers from dining out. The staff was always very courteous and helpful. Ample parking behind the hotel & a nice 10 minute walk to the waterfront

The hotel had a rustic charm, big mouldings/trim, stained wooden doors, keyed locks etc. We had a nice stay, the breakfast was good. The property was clean. The cons were the parking, it’s limited, one night I had to park on the street, there is no fan in the bathroom and the wifi did not work in the room, it worked everywhere else but the room.

An ok stay. The staff were fine, if not particularly friendly. There was a wedding at the hotel so maybe everyone was just tired/stressed. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. The bathroom is VERY small (you can barely turn around in the shower without bumping into the built-in dispensers), with terrible water pressure and awful fluorescent lighting. No robes or slippers. There was a dog barking in another room for over an hour. Not even a “good morning” when we came down for breakfast. I understand it’s breakfast time and very busy, but maybe there needs to be more than 2 staff for the morning rush! The food was ok, nothing special. For the luxury price tag, I expected slightly elevated service and accommodation. The location is great though - although there are lots of hotels in the area. If we’re in PEI again, I would probably try somewhere else.

The Rodd Charlottetown was a lovely, older hotel. The room we had was very clean but small and dated. It could use an upgrade. There was some constructions work being done on the outdoor property. However, the dining room and food/pricing was excellent. The restaurant manager, Vinny, was superb. The bar, where I held a small family reunion party, was also very good. Vinny, the restaurant manager, was the person who was in charge of my event which went extremely well. Again, he was exemplary. We would come back to this hotel, mainly due to the staff, but book a different room type. Very good overall.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Rodd Charlottetown. The suite was exactly as described and pictured—beautifully appointed and incredibly comfortable. The hotel itself is charming and welcoming, with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The staff were warm and friendly, adding to the overall experience. Our suite truly made our visit feel extra special. We’d love to stay here again the next time we’re in Charlottetown!

This property looks amazing from the outside. The exterior is gorgeous; however, inside we encountered the hotel did not have hot water. When we explained our issue on the day we arrived right up to checkout, the front desk staff offered a litany of excuses and rude responses. I will discuss this further with the General Manager who was on vacation during our stay.

Restaurant staff seemed a little disconnected from the customer. Once an order was taken (if they got it right) they never came back to the table until the meal was ready to be served and then when it was obvious the meal was finished and the bill needed to be given. This was the practice for 3 mornings in a row so chalking it up to a waiter/ress having a bad day doesn’t fly.

There was confusion on Expedia with the breakfast option. We paid for breakfast every morning and it wasn’t cheap - Expedia should be clearer about “breakfast options” when booking. We missed the continental breakfast option - this added a lot to our trip as we stayed for 5 nights. Some of the evening staff were not as helpful as the day staff at the front desk. I found this property to be expensive (not worth what we paid). The city was lovely, but I would look for another hotel next time.
