Occidental Faro

Lovely location and lots to enjoy here. Although the rooms are simple they’re clean and quiet, and the rooftop area is a huge bonus to staying here. Breakfast is superb and all the team are very friendly. Overall a lovely stay but would suggest the hotel begins some way of timed use of the sunbed area beside the rooftop pool. There are only 10 sun beds, which is all that is logistically possible, but when you have a hundred guests or more it would be fair to try a timing system as sunbed hogging was the only disappointment in an otherwise lovely stay.

Good standard. Clean and nice. Quite firm bed which I personally think is positive. Very nice rooftop restaurant and bar. The breakfast buffet was very good, much like a Swedish or Norwegian hotel breakfast.

Service was very good. Rooftop bar/restaurant was a real selling point which we took advantage of a lot! The hotel could not be more central, it quite literally is hotel faro! Everything was only a few minutes away. Breakfast was good. Only downsides really were the elevators which were very weird and would take you everywhere you didn’t want to go (we ended up just using he stairs because they were so slow and bad) and the rooms were a tad on the stuffy side, the ac seemed to be turned off for winter.

The hotel was very central, clean and staff was friendly. The hotel rate at 4 stars is somewhat optimistic, I would rate it at 3 stars. The pool water was cold.

Room was spotless though a little dated. Location was excellent and roof top breakfast room and bar were good with good views

Centrally located hotel, easy walking distance to the train & bus station as well as shops & restaurants. Hotel was clean, staff were friendly, service on rooftop was slow, had to ask for table to be wiped, glasses to be cleared off table etc. Pool area was lovely & never too busy. We also went to the beach club which was lovely but beware it’s not free as we were told at reception! €20 for beds all day so not expensive.

Parking under the hotel was inadequate and made available to the public so NOT available reliably to guests The name Faro Hotel and Beach Club is misleading since there was no “beach club” proximate to the hotel

Nice location and hotel. Room could use little renovation, tiles moving on the floor etc. Pool was not working.

There was a stench of sewer in the room on checking in and the staff seemed somewhat indifferent. The hotel is in a vibrant restaurant and shopping area but extremely noisy at night. Otherwise the hotel is good and breakfast excellent but the above mentioned negative factors definitely impacted our visit.

Ants are in the room. Too small the room. Location is good. Staff are not nice.

The room was stuffy and the WiFi connection was bad. The bedsheet had stains. It was below expectations. It’s more of a 3 star hotel.

The property is in a good location. Our room was small, very outdated, and incredibly uncomfortable. Beds seemed like hostel beds. Linens looked clean but smelled like they weren’t fresh. I do believe they were freshly washed, but maybe they are old and the smell couldn’t be washed out? Hallway had a horrible sour/chemical smell. Overall, very disappointed.

The room was clean, & housekeeping in every day even Sunday. Staff were so helpful.

Great place with helpful staff. One star off as our room temperature control was not working properly.

The air conditioning in the room was terrible since getting here the room stayed on 26 degrees had heating on full lowest it could go was 19 degree's we even shut the curtains to keep the light out when we checked in. We had a our own room temperature guide and the lowest it went to it the night was 25 degrees spoke to reception and they were absolutely useless suggesting we must try switch on and off and open and close windows. Told her the lobby was colder than my room where she said yes sometimes it gets to cold here. The curtains were not proper black out curtains the light came through the top and bottom not sure if we have the sign outside by us but a light shined through the whole night. We have a 17 month old and he struggled. Then at 11 o clock in the evening myself and the little one awoke with scrapping and moving around chair's above us at the roof. Terrible would not recommend this place.

Hotel met our needs. I thought we were going to have a balcony room, but it was literally just a door that opened to a 1/2 of a door-sized piece of glass& you were still standing inside your room. Breakfast and bar on rooftop balcony did make up for the shortfall. It was hard to tell the size of the rooms on-line, but they are pretty small.

Location was brilliant and the rooftop was amazing. We had two quibbles: charging €3 for a teabag in the room was miserly and the air conditioning was very noisy b

The hotel is not 4 stars, unfortunately. There are many small issues which mount up. Positive: – The staff are professional and courteous, which makes a notable difference throughout your stay. – Breakfast was nice and plentiful. – Roof-top bar has incredible sunset views. Negatives: – “High speed internet” supports speeds of no more than 10Mbps, and sometimes much less. Practically this means even finding somewhere to eat through Google Maps is difficult, never mind movie streaming. It was very infuriating. – I had to double check on my booking that I did pay extra for a superior room as it was very basic. No kettle, tea, or milk in the room, only a coffee machine and complementary bottled water. – Cleanliness was an issue. Stained curtains and bed sheets, dusty bathroom, dirt on the tiles, and bad odour – Throughout the hotel, there were many things which were broken or poorly maintained. 1. In the room the toilet seat and bath were scuffed, the shower head with some stains on, the shower leaked all over the floor, a noticeable lack of soundproofing around the room door which was visible through a light gap (I could hear people showering down the hallway). 2. In the rest of the hotel, the pool features (including the bubbles) were mainly not working or switched off. Staff didn’t know how to turn them on, and only one overhead water flow worked. The water temperature heater was turned off and I only realised after it got much hotter afterwards.

Lovely spacious room, central location, tastyfood

Facilities in rooms were good, the rooftop restaurant and breakfast were special. However don’t believe their soundproofing claim - we had bad noise from outside clubs and bars which went on all night. There was also noise from above from scraping chairs and tables. The hotel has little atmosphere and unfortunately the staff all missed the customer service training.

First room aircon did not work, uograded to larger room where air con worked slightly better, temperature set at 19 degrees minimum. Kept clicking on and off during the night resulting in poor sleep. Room was opposite very noisy bar where a group sang loudly and played a guitar until 1130pm. At reception Carlos and Bruno tried their best to help us. Good breakfast. Overall will not stay at this hotel again due to air con and noise.

The room and bathroom were clean. Beds are comfy, Shower is over the bath and could do with a slip mat. We were in room 325, a basic room, overlooking a street, the window opens inwards and wide. The air conditioner is very noisy. But overall for one night it was good. Breakfast was just ok.

The place is really nice and staff are OK. There were some of then that were super friendly. Others because one did not speak Portuguese they would kinda look down on you or would treat you as if you were bothering. DO NOT, mark my words DO NOT GET rooms on the 3rd FL. The view is nice but above is the terrace/ dining room. 7AM-11AM and 8PM-11PM you can hear the chairs dragging.

Staff were rude and not helpful when asking questions.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The breakfast had lot of great choices and delicious. We had a nice little view of the marina there.

Feedback: -they don't clean your room until 4:30-5pm daily (we stayed 7 nights) -they did not have a crib the first night we stayed even though we clearly requested one and paid for one on our reservation. We didn't get the crib the first night and still paid. -they over billed us, the cost for crib was $15 euro (21 Can) a night, they billed us $243 Can for 7 nights ($35 Can), not to mention the first night we stay they did not have a crib for us. The manager Elizabeth refused to speak to us until the last day, promised to resolve and ingored our emails after we left when she promised to get back to us. -the WiFi was not good in hotel room or lobby, we ended up paying more for roaming -hotel advertised as a beach hotel, beach is about 16 minutes drive -front dest staff very rude -side door buzzer doesn't work and it's only way for strollers to enter the building, every time one of us had to talk around and open from inside -ok mattress, bad pillow

Great staff

My shower flooded my bathroom (I took a normal, ~7 min shower). Staff were combative in dealing with me. Eventually I was given a new room that also had problems (the sink didn’t work) but I was too fearful of the staff to report anything further.

Hotel is in a great location. Staff - not so helpful - gave wrong information at check-in about beach club. At check-in no explanation given about house charges - no offer to keep a credit card open for incidental charges like at the bar. Protocol for getting to floors in the elevator especially for use of spa - confusing and not explained well. Front desk staff seemed preoccupied with using their computers rather than assisting guests.

I’ve stayed at this hotel before and find it very pleasant and comfortable. The location is perfect and the rooftop has an excellent view and nice pool. Also the breakfast is very good. Bruno at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming. I’ll definitely stay here again!

Great location and views from roof terrace and the room. Breakfast buffet was fresh, lots of choice. Staff were amazing and noticed that one of our party had a Birthday the day of our check in and arranged a lovely surprise of a bottle of Sparkling to be brought to the room. This made an already lovely stay even more special.

Hotel is OK. Decent location. Bit run down on the inside. Water leaks in shower. Front desk staff seemed bothered by requests/questions.

Very nice hotel with an amazing roof top bar and restaurant. Rooms are a bit basic but clean. Staff was super helpful. And note hotel is not beside a beach - need to take a fairly long boat ride to get there. So, not the most convenient.

Excellent location for bars and restaurants but street facing rooms can be noisy. It has a good view from rooftop bar/breakfast room. Misleading to call itself a beach club as it is a city centre hotel and a boat ride from the beach. Convenient if pricey parking (€15 a night) Excellent buffet breakfast and helpful staff.

The breakfast was horrible, food was cold. I did not recieve my VIP access. I left the sign on the door for the room to be cleaned. I had to call as the cleaners passed our room. Location is excellent though, and hotel is very clean. I also paid for parking and its a nightmear. You are not guarnteed a spot, so once you get one, dont leave it. We took bolt to the mall so we didnt loose our space. An added expense.

Faro Hotel has an exceptional breakfast buffet included with the room.

Booked a suite but it was just a normal hotel room with a extra room nothing extraordinary there! The bathroom was nice tho. The breakfast was very bad and not a 4star hotel worthy. The vegetables tasted bad and the smoothie was made with old youghurt and when i told the staff they didnt remove it so had to tell the other guests not to drink it.

Went for new year and shocked to find out on New Years Eve that unless we paid for the gala dinner at 160E each we could not access the hotel bar

Our 2nd time staying at the Hotel Faro, and our stay was just as good! Location is great, and the service and staff are top notch - so friendly and professional. The rooftop bar and restaurant is amazing, and the breakfast buffet is probably one of the best buffets I’ve had. Highly recommend the Hotel Faro for a first class stay.

素敵なホテルでした。チェックインの14時前についたのですが、荷物を預かってくれたのですぐに出かけることができました。お部屋の眺めは良くなかったですが小さいバルコニーがありました。室内や浴室もキレイでした。エアコンも使えてよかったです。屋上のレストランも眺めがよく、料理も美味しくてスタッフもフレンドリーでおすすめです。
