Nice property with a great pool and buffet breakfast. Number of restaurants available for lunch and dinner. Staff were exceptional. Only complaint is the volume of the DJ by the pool in the evening. Could hear him inside our rooms later at night

Rooms are well furnished but slightly tired as are the corridors. Hotel seems to focus on hosting large events which can mean the common areas are very busy and it is difficult to get attention from staff. Similarly, the pool area was not for relaxing and was being used to host an evening party. The hotel allowed me to move rooms away from one overlooking the pool to avoid the noise of the party.

I liked this hotel so much that I want to move in! It has everything: old world charm and service with modern facilities and good restaurants at a very reasonable price. The pool area was great and sunset happy hour at the rooftop bar should not be missed! The buffet in the Horizon restaurant is unbelievable and cheap by US standards. The breakfast buffet included in my room rate was worthy of the five star resort that is the Kingsbury. All in all highly recommended.

A very popular hotel with very good facilities. Unfortunately, staff although very friendly are not very competent. It's a noisy environment with music playing til midnight. An excellent choice for the last day and night of a two week trip in Sri Lanka. Got to the hotel hours before the check in time, and was given a room straight away. There are multiple restaurants to choose from for dinner. Dinner at Ocean was fab! Cocktails at the roof top bar were nice. And the afternoon by the pool was chilled. All the staff were friendly and very helpful.

An absolutely amazing stay from start to finish. Room was large, well set out and very clean. Bathroom was also spacious and well set out with plenty of light, and immaculately clean. Nice comfortable large king size bed with extraordinarily comfortable pillows. Nice and quiet - all helped for great sleeps. Good lighting throughout with conveniently located switches. Room has tea, coffee, room safe, shampoo, conditioner, slippers, shaving kit and dental kit. Good hot water and water pressure in spacious shower. Room service, which I only used once, was excellent. Good wifi. Great selection of restaurants and bars. Stunning views from the rooftop Sky-lounge, which also has live music at night. Good view from Room. Staff throughout the entire hotel were amazing. Great location. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for a night prior to leaving Sri Lanka from a 10-day trip. The hotel was very fancy, clean and modern and nicely decorated for Christmas. Across the Street from Dutch Hospital shopping and entertainment district. Service was great, and breakfast buffet was plentiful.

From check in I had problems, inefficient staff, impossible to be served food after first morning at breakfast I had to go outside hotel each morning for breakfast. I had all my means outside this hotel due to staff incompetence. The shower cubicle was very dirty. The room very noisy unable to sleep until 3 in the morning. Service generally for everything was so bad

We stayed for two weeks in The Kingsbury and it was incredible. It was our first time in Sri Lanka and we chose to stay in The Kingsbury because we were attending a wedding there. The service was amazing, the staff cannot do enough for you; holding doors open for you before you get to them, wishing you well every time you see them, cooking off-the-menu items to suit dietary requirements. The food was delicious in all the restaurants we tried. We booked to have breakfast included but we had a few excursions planned which meant leaving before 6am. We spoke to reception and they arranged for us to have a take away breakfast. Our towels didn’t get replaced one of the days but if that’s all we have to complain about in two weeks, that’s pretty good going. We would highly recommend The Kingsbury if you are planning on visiting Sri Lanka.

It is a plush hotel but the rooms are small. High level of service. Breakfast is great. They had fresh tropical fruits like mangosteen, guava, papaya, etc. There are 2 malls within walking distance. Short tuktuk ride to the National Museum (must visit) and other significant sights.

Great location for being in the capital but the rooms were small and the suite was not in a 5 star condition. Views are of rooftops or buildings. Very noisy with music playing till 10.30pm at the honey club. Great selection for breakfast. They didn’t provide hand wash/soap in the room despite asking several times. Basic lack of understanding made it difficult.

40 min gewartet für check in - um 20 uhr und das Zimmer war nicht fertig ! Sehr viele Angestellte , sehr viele die nicht wissen was sie machen sollen. Bei Frühstück, keine sauberen Tische, Kaffe bestellt wenn wir gekommen sind, bis wir gegangen sind , keinen bekommen. Ich werde das Hotel nicht wieder buchen.

It is so unfortunate that the staff discriminate against their own people. If your skin color is brown, dont stay here. Even though your are paying same amount of money for the rooms and services, the staff at kingsbury treat you like untouchables. We will never stay here again

Excellent location & amenities , specially the range they have in Breakfast , only complaint is the staff ( only in the restaurant for breakfast) the service is slow & I will suggest hotel to keep staff who can give service with a smile. The hotel is very pretty and well located. Staff is nice and attentive. There is a lot of security with gives you a feeling of safety. Room was spacious and very nice. Many amenities are available. However, the food/drink service needs improving. Breakfast is great but do not go after 9am otherwise you'll have to wait 1h for coffee or water! We tried three of their restaurants so the experience was very strange. In the bakery I wasn't served and I needed my husband to get food (who was served with no issue). The pool restaurant took between 45min to 1h to serve us french fries WHILE there were hardly any other guests and when the food came it was COLD. This happened twice to us and after the second time, we complained got finally semi-warm food. The ocean restaurant was very chic but they changed three items of our orders without telling us. Our room was poolside and with the pool club and DJ it was very loud. We asked to switch room with was no issue but sadly some of my clothes got missing during transfer and could not be found anymore.

I stayed at the Kingsbury for one night and it was a great experience. Check-in was speedy and the staff were informative and kind. My favorite experience was dining in at the Ocean seafood restaurant. The food and cocktails were made with love. Will be back soon
