I was very disappointed to be charged $20 for parking. Enough it could cause me to book elsewhere that includes parking. Lot of competition in the Victoria area for hotels. This hotel for price point should include parking or add it to the price of the room, not hit the customer at check in.

Very clean, good, happy staff. Did not appreciate not being told there was a twenty dollar per night parking fee no matter if you parked undercover, underground or outside. We were not given the options at check in. When I question this matter I was simply told that it is on their website.

Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. A little bit dated, but that was not a problem for us. Comfortable bed. The hotel is in a great location, short walk to wharf area, shops and restaurants. Easy walk to buses for Butchart Gardens.

While it is an older building, it is spotless. Ask for a fourth floor room to get double height ceiling with a frosted sky light. Free breakfast was fine. Super convenient to ferry or Clipper. Walls are a little thin. Most guests were quiet, but if a baby is crying or some comes in late and loud, you will definitely hear it. Based on price and convenience, we will stay here again when our trip is just a place to stay the night of a concert or something. Not what I would book for a special occasion like an anniversary.

Location was great. We booked a room with two queen size beds for 4 people and they gave us two double beds. When asked about this, they told us they were queens and unfortunately had no other rooms available. Our room was at the end of the hall and it was quite small for 4 people. Also no air conditioning, but fortunately we were on the 4th floor and could keep the patio door open.

Rooms are good & breakfast was fab. The fridge in our room was super noisy though which did wake is up. The hotel is so close to the center of Victoria it was really convenient. So overall we had a good stay.

I have stayed at this hotel for 10 years in a row to take part in the Victoria Marathon. The hotel has changed management and owners, they were very un-accommodating to the runners. Not anything like they were in the past, no paid for late check out, no water table for runners, no signs or encouragement. The staff made it sound like the event was a burden. This hotel is literally right on the start line and this marathon has been going on for 45 years. I am extremely disappointed and will not stay there again.

I’ve stayed here probably a dozen times. This time the staff made the error of putting five (5) pre authorizations on my credit card of $$$$$ x5 instead of just one. If I lived paycheck to paycheck, this would be a very bad situation for me. They told me that they tried to take off the pre authorizations and that it will “go away after 7 business days”. I asked for an email acknowledging their mistake and I’m willing to share but denied on this platform. I will not be staying here again. I tried to post proof of this occurrence but have been denied.

The hotel is older but kept up and has a lovely breakfast area. I was put off by the attitude of a staff member. I asked at the front desk if I could get a little milk or cream for my tea in my room. The woman curtly told me there is powder creamer in your room. When I told her I didn't like that kind she said there is a convenience store 2 blocks away . I know she could have walked a few steps to find some as there was plenty of small creamers at breakfast the next morning. Come on, put a little effort into customer service. I will not stay here again because of this staff member. Checking me in is your job, putting a little effort into helping someone is customer service

The staff go above and beyond what you would expect. I had parked my rental vehicle in lot and was hit by a cab. They called me to get me to come down to lobby and asked the other driver to stay till I could meet him. Everything worked out and documents exchanged. Stayed here numerous times, super clean, and close to everything. Breakfast is great.

Check in was with staff who were indifferent . Surprisingly we have to pay for parking now. What happened to free complimentary parking?. We also asked about flexibilty with checking out, in context of our activity and reason to visit, but front desk was firm and non negotiable about checking out at the stated time.

This is an excellent property. It’s a great location, a block from the harbour. 10 minute walk from numerous restaurants and bars. It’s clean and the rooms are nicely decorated. The bed is on the firmer side, which is not my comfort level, but that’s subjective. The breakfast is the best I’ve had included in a hotel stay.

Beautiful flower gardens, nice breakfast dining area. Only negative is no “other than pork” options fore breakfast. Some people don’t eat pork for various reasons. There needs to be a turkey sausage or turkey bacon option as well for example, considering the high price of the accomodations
