Best Western Tampa

I’m extremely disappointed with my stay at Best Western Tampa. The hotel is under serious construction, which was never mentioned anywhere in the listing or in the emails before my stay. The property is dirty, torn apart, and unsafe — hallways are full of dust and debris, carpets are stained, walls and shower curtains are grimy, and the air conditioning units look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. I had to switch rooms twice due to mold and poor air quality, which is concerning for anyone, but especially as I’m pregnant. My coworker and I both developed coughs after a couple of nights here. The breakfast area is right beside an active construction zone and didn’t feel food-safe. The gym and pool are closed. The photos online must be outdated or edited, because the real condition of this hotel is shocking. Guests should have been warned so we could cancel in advance. In its current state, this hotel should not be open to the public. The property only refunded one of our rooms, and refused to refund the second room.

Parking was fine. I did not go to the breakfast.

Staff was great and very accommodating during elevator outage. But very poor value for your money. Bathroom was dirty; overall rooms were in need of some renovations and TLC. Very limited breakfast choices and seating.

We got locked out in the pool area because there were issues with the door not opening. The carpet was stained in many different places in our room.

The location was ok. Lobby small but fine. My room was large & clean. They had free breakfast every morning. I came to Tampa for the Taylor Swift concert, so I paid a premium rate for our 2 nights. During my check-in I voiced concern in the number of parking spaces they had available, but front desk assured me there is enough space for all hotel guests. I came back from the concert at 12:45 am & there was no space available. I asked the night manager (Antonio) where I am to park. In the process about a dozen more vehicles arrived from the concert & had no space to park!!! Antonio (bless him) walked to the neighboring IHOP & bar to see if we can park in their parking lot, but no one gave him an answer. In the meantime, he was calling the gen manager regarding the issue, but he didn't help. So, Antonio had us park at IHOP. By this time, it was close to 2:00 am. The next day, I spoke to George Casanova the gen manager regarding the parking & safety issue for us, women & their daughters coming back from the concert. His uncaring, unconcerned, unempathetic, defensive, calloused reply was "It happens all the time we have a big event. I don't know why Antonio was calling me. He's new. There is nothing we can do about it." I told him if he knew this happens every time there is a big event, they should make arrangements to have extra parking for their guests. I felt unsafe, unvalued and abandoned.

Front desk staff were welcoming. Elevator had broke down. Breakfast food had run out and took awhile to get tended to. Bathroom baseboards need cleaning

Good overnight after my flight was canceled. Laundry was convenient.

The pool was closed the entire time we stayed at the hotel. The rugs in the room were filthy including where the rug met the baseboards and walls dirt and food stuck all over the rug, the shower leaked all over the floor, overall awful building needs to be torn down and start over

The hotel was just okay, nothing to write home about. Parking lot was very small also.

We were able to check in early this was amazing. Our room was clean and comfortable. The guest laundry was a great feature we did our laindry before we came home after our 12 night cruise.

The room was ok , but the toilet continued to run the whole time. The tile in bathroom didn’t meet the wall holes around the floor and roaches were found.

This hotel was disgusting! My daughter and I walked into the room, and the breakfast from the previous person was sitting on the cabinet under the TV. The carpet was so run-down that parts of it were nonexistent. Also, the soap in the shower was still there from the prior guests. I paid for two nights but had to leave; there was no way I was going to stay another night.

Great location for our football trip. Comfortable beds. Otherwise, room carpeting very dirty and unit not so clean. Flooring in halls and elevator in disrepair. AC unit over heated and smoked up room and set off alarms. Called the front desk for service. Noone arrived.

The room was gross. The bathroom was gross with clumps of hair. The carpet was dirty and stained. There was mold and a big crack on the ceiling. I don’t know who the photographer for the website was, but I can’t believe it’s the same hotel. During the continental breakfast the attendant was wearing gloves, touching her hair etc then touching food/plastic wear. She dropped a bunch of spoons on the floor, picked them up and set them aside, waited a few minutes, looked around and added them back to the box to use. Two thumbs down.

I got bed bug bites there and the sheets and the room feel like it hadn't been cleaned for a long time. You can tell from the dust and weird feeling when laying on the bed.

Room wasn’t ready at check in had to sit in the hall and wait. Floors and carpets are dingy, windows were nasty and dirty. Ac was musty and vents in bathroom were nasty. 1-10 would never stay again.

We were very disappointed in our stay. We came in for one night from the airport before beginning our vacation. The room was dirty, outdated, old, and worn. The smell in the halls was terrible. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Ants found in the room/bathroom, some type of bug maybe a bedbug found. No microwave in the room but shown in the picture. Not that clean

I booked this hotel thinking it would be a very pleasant stay. I've stayed at other Best Westerns at other locations and thought they would all be run with the same standards. Was I surprised! The first thing I want to say is that some of the photos must be from another Best Western. Because this location was very outdated. The first thing we noticed was that the room had a smell. It wasn't the worst thing so we just ignored it. Then we saw that there was just a big empty space where the microwave should've been. So, I got on the phone to call front desk. The phone was dead! So, I had to go downstairs and tell them in person that my room was missing a microwave and would like to be switched to a room that had one. The woman who was on her phone and never even stood up to address me told me, "None of the rooms have microwaves." I said, "That's not what's advertised. There are microwaves in the online photos. Where do I heat up food?" She told me there was a microwave down the hall that everybody can use. By the way, that microwave plate doesn't fit properly and it was so incovenient to have to keep trying to fix it into place and then carry food up and down to my room. Next, the refridgerator was a mess! None of the shelves fit and it was loud. The sink in the bathroom kept filling up everytime you ran the water. The bed pillows need replacing, as well as the carpet. This Best Western needs alot of help. I don't know why the pricing isn't less for what you're getting.

While this hotel does get the job done is is a 2 star hotel AT BEST. The walls are paper thin, you hear everything. The rooms are outdated and very filthy/stained. My room had old stickers on the walls, rust stains in the shower, and it seems a lot of people live here full time. No cockroaches but did find a small lizard in the room!!

Not very clean or nicely finished, noisy neighbors, beds weren’t very comfortable

The property was “tired.” The shower water pressure could have been better. For a place to rest your head for a quick trip to Tampa it was fine.

A/C was not working in the room, was laud, not cooling down. The staff said they did not have another room since they all were booked. Very frustrating.

Horrible, horrible customer service. I was standing inside the hotel and made a mistake and booked a reservation for Saturday instead of the current day which was Friday. I was told to cancel the reservation for Saturday and I would get a refund for Saturday and I paid for Friday night again. I never received a refund and after calling multiple times, they are now saying the refund was not approved by George the manager, but the person who checked me told me multiple times, I would get a refund. Additionally Shalini the person at the front desk in the morning is the most rudest, unprofessional person ever. After speaking over me multiple, she tells me to stop calling and hung the phone up in my face. Do not stay at this hotel!

Told the front desk the TV wasn't working, they said they would be up in 10 minutes and never showed. When told them about it a second time they said I know I'm sorry, but never acknowledged that they forgot. The desk worker was playing on their phone on a video chat instead of wanting to help. I am very disappointed.

Great personal

Had no issues. I think on record the fastest hotel check in. NO B.S. everything I needed they had. Very prompt. The shower head was broken, I told front desk and less than a minute they were there looking at it. They seem to be always working to improve stuff while I was there.

The hotel lobby had a strong smell of cleaning chemical detergents. The lobby staff never answers their phone whether we're calling from outside or from our room. They served something that resembled scrambled eggs but they were not scrambled eggs. They did not replenish the protein even though there was still one hour left before the end of breakfast time. It is a poorly managed hotel. The only good thing is the lady who checked us in is cordial but she doesn't know why we were placed in a handicap-accessible room even though we told her none of us was handicapped. The hotel was not full but she couldn't move us to another room either.

My room key did not work. I could only use it to open my door once and the. It needed to be fixed at the front desk. I did this multiple times in a single day. I asked for a different room with a door rhat worked but they refused. Staff did not seem concerned about the issue.

Stayed for 1 night with family. The front desk lady at night and the gentleman in the morning were very nice. Nothing to complaint about.

Close to enough dining options that are easily walkable. Also very close to downtown, only a short uber ride away.

It's very close to the highway and restaurants. Tampa is pretty busy, I only found this out today. Apparently rush hour is every hour and the locals renamed the hi-way, die-way because it's so busy. I went to Ybor city after check in, it was less that an 15 minute drive from the hotel. It's worth visiting.

Friendly staff, clean breakfast area. Easy access to airport and port of Tampa.
