The staff was amazing and I loved having a full kitchen to cook in too. I love to walk and the location was perfect. Kings cross is a 1minute away if you need to catch the train and the area is filled with shops, food and so close to the Botanical gardens, museums, ferries and the main attractions! I’m returning there in a few days before I head out of Sydney to Melbourne! 5❤️

Old building...more like a hostel than a hotel. We did get one of the few rooms with a bathroom, but others didn't so people were walking the loud hall in front of our room at all hours.

I loved this property. The room was small, but great value for money in this location. We were only staying 1 night and just wanted a base. Easy walking to George Street and Circular Quay. Parking available close by. Two great cafes super close for breakfast.

The property was in an excellent location for my visit to Sydney. I chose an individual room which was clean and the bedcomfortable. Toilets and showers were also clean and tidy. Close to great food options or the convenience of an inhouse kitchen.sh

Property was very basic, the shared toilets were horrible. Tiny little cubical I’m sure not to Australian standards. I was on the 3rd floor and with no lift access I asked the staff to assist me with my bag as I have a back injury and was advised ‘that’s not a service we offer’. Absolutely NOT worth the money I paid. Bed and pillow were horribly uncomfortable. No air condition and the room was like a hit box

Excellent position in Victoria St 2 minutes walk from Kings Cross station. Not a “luxury” hotel but certainly value for money. Staff were excellent- welcoming and helpful. Our ensuite room was small but adequate. Being able to open the windows was a real bonus Small and basic kitchen enables preparation of own meals if required.

Good location in buzzing part of Sydney - walking distance from both the Allianz stadium and the bridge/opera house area. Expensive for size of room but you’re paying for it being Sydney. Very small room - no space even for a seat and only one pillow for 2 people staying. Parking A$25 extra - but that’s for a full 24 hours. Could see Syndney Harbour Bridge from the car park (opposite the hotel). Only view from our room was of a brick wall. No (working) lift.

Highfield private hotel is a very clean & friendly hotel only a short walk to Darlinghurst road centre of kingscross also has a seperate fully equipped kitchen suitable for families with children safe & honest employees good value also highly recommend

Look, it is only a 1 star hotel and so expectations need to remember that. The pub patrons next door like to sing so ear-plugs are essential. For my purpose, a room to sleep in and no more, it was great. Clean, comfortable bed and close to food. Bathroom clean, hang everything on the high hooks, everywhere else gets wet including the door. If I need to stay in central Sydney again I'll use the Highfield again.

Nice little budget hotel, my room was quite small but it was clean & had airconditioning so I was happy. The building was a little run down but he room had been refurbished. Deffo recommend if you want a cheap place to crash for the night.

The hotel was conveniently located; the bedding clean, but none of the powerpoints worked (no TV, fridge or fan; no ability to recharge phone etc). This could be such a good overnight location, but falls way short at the moment.

I'd give it 5 stars except for the thin walls and no staff on duty to enforce a quiet time after midnite. Manager went above and beyond to give us a choice of rooms, and to provide an adapter for our American electronics. It would have been helpful to let us know if we could have a room with no one next door.

Everything is close together with this property, which makes it really easy to find entertainment or food. :) In the summer it might be a bit of a challenge as some of the rooms don't have air conditioning or fans, but otherwise they're very cosy and Adrian will definitely look after you. :D

The room was very small and freshly painted. So fresh they forgot to remove the masking tape from the smoke detector. So it was definitely clean. The single blanket and flat pillows made for an uncomfortable sleep. There wasn’t even enough space for a bedside table. The bathroom was a small ensuite and I had to put a towel in a spot to prevent water from soaking the carpet outside the door. So overall it was okay, but that’s about it. At least it was clean!

I stayed in the hotel for one night as it was convenient for getting to the airport. The hotel is in a busy area and there are lots of shops nearby. I had to check in late and the staff were very helpful in giving me the access codes. There were a couple of issues that spoiled the stay: 1) The room had a fridge that emitted the most horrible noise every few minutes. I don't think any normal functioning fridge would make that sound, 2) I could hear other guests talking in the corridor in the middle of the night. It was a bit inconsiderate and I didn't get good sleep.

Had a great time at highfield! It was a super convenient location so close to central and the train stations, and it was incredible affordable for the private room that we stayed in. The staff is super nice and very accomodating to late check ins and room attending requests. It was as quiet as you can expect for a inner city room, but was super clean and comfortable. Definitely not the biggest space and the lack of an elevator could be annoying at the end of a long day but I would absolutely stay here again!

The staff is super nice and very accomodating to late check ins and room attending requests. It was as quiet as you can expect for a inner city room, but was super clean and comfortable. Definitely not the biggest space and the lack of an elevator could be annoying at the end of a long day but I would absolutely stay here again!

Upon check in the lady never smiled once, just asked us our name, gave us a form to complete & asked for I/D. Gave us room key, that was it. Didn't realise we had to hike our heavy bags up 2 floors on our own. Room was unbelievably tiny for the $$$ room rate for one night. At least it was clean & bed was comfortable. Lots of noise from other rooms & the alley below, despite keeping window closed.

Property was very basic, the shared toilets were horrible. Tiny little cubical I’m sure not to Australian standards. I was on the 3rd floor and with no lift access I asked the staff to assist me with my bag as I have a back injury and was advised ‘that’s not a service we offer’. I'd give it 5 stars except for the thin walls and no staff on duty to enforce a quiet time after midnite. Manager went above and beyond to give us a choice of rooms, and to provide an adapter for our American electronics. It would have been helpful to let us know if we could have a room with no one next door.

I stayed in the hotel for one night as it was convenient for getting to the airport. The hotel is in a busy area and there are lots of shops nearby. I had to check in late and the staff were very helpful in giving me the access codes. There were a couple of issues that spoiled the stay: 1) The room had a fridge that emitted the most horrible noise every few minutes. I don't think any normal functioning fridge would make that sound, 2) I could hear other guests talking in the corridor in the middle of the night. It was a bit inconsiderate and I didn't get good sleep.

I stayed here with my family ten years ago, and I am back solo traveling. This hotel is like a family-owned hotel, no fancy decor and even no lift, but the owner was very nice. He chatted with me and was kind enough to carry my suitcase up the stairs for me. He even offered me a room for three people only for myself. The only thing I would complain about is the transportation, but there is a train station and a bus stop only less than five minutes away. I would stay here again.

Good location in buzzing part of Sydney - walking distance from both the Allianz stadium and the bridge/opera house area. Expensive for size of room but you’re paying for it being Sydney. Very small room - no space even for a seat and only one pillow for 2 people staying. Parking A$25 extra - but that’s for a full 24 hours. Could see Syndney Harbour Bridge from the car park (opposite the hotel). Only view from our room was of a brick wall. No (working) lift.

Hotel is very accessible to Kings Cross station just 3mins walk. The room I got is good and clean especially the bed. I had a good sleep. There’s cafes and bars outside which is good. The only thing if you have a huge luggage is that it does not have lift so please prepare your muscles. :D Good thing I saw a review about that and I was kinda prepared. Overall experience was good.
