Angela's Beach Stays

The worst we have ever experienced. The shoe box sized room faced west but no aircon; the tiny TV’s remote did not work. We had a shared bathroom (!!!) but no wash basin in the room. There was parking - on the street. At no time did we see a real person.

What we liked: - great location, quiet and relatively close to town shops - nice parking area, with lovely flowers and plants - spacious and clean, has huge sofa and dining table - has all necessary kitchen stuffs (ref, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, utensils, water and wine glasses, tea and sugar, milk) - excellent bathroom (shower, bath tub, toilet, and wash sink) - very good upgrade to premium room! Needs improvement: - AC is noisy - better with a bit bigger bed (Double to Queen size) - not enough clothes hangers (only had 2) - not enough toilet rolls (only had 1) - no small coffee packs - microwave oven buttons not working (except just start and stop) - key deposit box is unlocked, dropping keys can fall off But overall, we’re satisfied and we had a nice, relaxing, good rest.

The property was advertised as a premium suite. It was looking tired and in need of refurbishment. The bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom in need of upgrade e.g. only two of 5 lights were working, shower head needs replacing. Convenient and quiet location and ample car parking. Not quite what we expected.

No communication that there was no one to check us in. After a second attempt at a phone call, we were informed that our room was unlocked and the key was on the table. We paid $250 for 1 night’s stay in the room with a en-suite bathroom. There was sand in the bath; curtain in place of a door to the bathroom; shower door falling apart, difficult to open and wouldn’t shut fully; outer door to balcony similar; multiple hairs found on bed sheets. Room small and incredibly basic. Totally over priced and substandard.

We stayed for just 1 night in a very busy season so there wasnt many options remaining, however Angelas beach stays was comfortable, clean & met our needs.

Nice access to a gorgeous beach. Cleanest of rooms and very peaceful location.

Wonderful location, clean and updated.

Large room with balcony. Very clean. Coffee, milk, sugar and maybe tea provided alomg w mugs, 3 plates, electeoc tea kettle, small fridge and microwave. Beds fine. Many small things wrong- curtains didn't fully cover windows across front, heating ligjts in bathroom didn't turn on, no shampoo in shampoo dispenser, small, inconsequential things broken and other minor imperfections. Totally adequate.

Stay was comfortable but there were no towels in the room. When we asked for towels we were given some old coloured towels which we are not sure if they were washed

Place was dirty there was a pair of someone’s underwear behind the lounge, mould under the microwave and dirt on the bathroom sink. It was quiet and comfortable.

It was disappointing that the quilt covers had stains on them and the carpet near the fridge had something dropped on it and did not appear to be cleaned before we arrived. Further, when we checked under the beds to make sure we had not left anything behind, a pack of bany wioes and other things were left there so onvioauly the person cleaning the room did not do a thorough job which was disappointing. Needs Improvement Despite Potential The property has a rustic charm and looks appealing at first glance, but it falls short in several key areas. Cleanliness and Hygiene Concerns While the room was generally clean, the fridge seal was black with mould, which was quite off-putting. The towels were worn out and didn’t feel fresh, and the pillows were uncomfortable. Traveling with family and small kids, hygiene is a top priority, and this aspect was disappointing. Amenities and Comfort The TV remote barely worked, the bed was overly soft and offered no support—it sank entirely when I sat on it. The amenities and toilets could use significant upgrades to make the stay more comfortable. Location and Value Though the property has potential, for the same price point, I’d prefer motels closer to dining options that offer better upkeep and convenience. With some updates and attention to detail, this place could be much better.

I booked this property as there was very limited options in Apollo Bay on the weekend I stayed. First the good news - the property is reasonably close to the main centre of Apollo Bay. Also, the fellow that I spoke to on the phone to finish my check in was helpful and polite. It was quiet during my stay with a bit of noise from guests coming in and going, but nothing to loud. Now, onto the bad news. If you are hoping that the property is on the beach - it is not. The property is old and desperately needs an overhaul. The decor looked like something out of a 1970s beachside sit-com. My room (an Executive room?) wasn't exactly flash. The appliances were old (I was too scared to use the microwave, which I think was built in the early 1900s). The use of a curtain to separate the bathroom/toilet from the living/sleeping space was novel, but hardly appropriate for an Executive Room. The bed was uncomfortable and I don't think there was airconditioning or at least none that I could see. Would I stay there again? No but if you are more interested in the beach than the standard of your accomodation, then this place might work for you.

Clean and tidy accomodation very close to the beach and walkable distance to town. Our room had a large bathroom but the bedroom was small. Also there was no air conditioning in the room.

excellent value for money. Only real issue with unit was that the door was difficult to open and needs to be adjusted. For 3 people it was quite spacious.

Clean, tidy, had everything as advertised. Balcony was a lot bigger than expected. Easy check in, easy check out. Wifi was slow but had 5G dongle so non issue.

Very clean, spacious room in a quiet area. Well priced. But security is poor, they dont give you a key to the front door. Room doors are internal only so if other guests were noisy it would affect you. No wifi password provided, contact person did not respond to a text. We rang 710 am when power wasnt working and no reply. Had to find the two power boards ourselves and flip the tripped switches. Two room lights not working. A little more responsive would help.

This was a house that has been converted into separate rooms for letting. Our family of 4 got the master bedroom with ensuite. Others I gathered were just the bedroom and the original bathroom was a shared bathroom. This meant that the rooms were close together and quite noisy depending on the other guests. The other communal feature we didn’t like was that there was one control for the air conditioning for the entire house. If someone was hot they put it on. If we got cold we would turn it off. It could turn into a back and forth affair but luckily in our situation it did not. What we didn’t like was that the curtains did not cover the entire window therefore letting in light and not providing adequate privacy from the house across the road (and street). There were holes in the flyscreens. However, the manager Josh was very attentive and quick to respond. Our leaky kettle was replaced promptly. I just had to put this review up as it is in no way the 4 star self rating. It was quite expensive too but that could be because of the lack of options and the peak period.

Exactly as described. Did not have personal contact with anyone but clear instructions were given to access the room

No one else there the night we stayed. Therefore very quiet. Check in process seemed unusual - phone a number to get key and guidance. Otherwise all went well

Check in was to be at 3pm but 4.55pm the room was still not ready.

A quick overnight stay while passing through Apollo Bay. On arrival, there was none in reception. A phone number is displayed on the key return box to "call for help." The gentleman who answered was friendly, helpful and assisted with 'check in' questions. Once we made our way upstairs we found the room easily. It was clean, comfortable and simple. A small fridge, microwave, a kettle and also toaster. The bed was comfortable and there was extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe which came in handy for the chilly night. Our budget room was a share bathroom with one other room. The bathroom was large in size with a small shower, however, has a separate bath tub for those so inclined.

Es war alle OK, laut Internet bis 21 Uhr jemand da, um 20 Uhr war niemand da, nur eine Telefonnummer zum anrufen. Das hat dann doch noch gut geklappt. Zimmer ist im Nachbarhaus, Nr. 6, Türen sind offen, Schlüssel ist im Zimmer. Der WLAN Code hat leider gefehlt

My room from the very first moment i stepped foot in it smelt like burnt cheese. And at 9:30pm when i had to use the bathroom for the first time since checking in i realised there was no toilet paper and after looking around the accommodation thoroughly i could find any. After ringing the manager letting him know there was no toilet paper, there was zero urgency on his behalf to help the situation.

A terrible experience. The room was not as described on your site. Attempts to address this were met with hostility on the phone from the owner. At no time during the stay was the owner or employee at the hotel. In your reviews other people had the same issues. How does it rate 8 ?This should be checked out to determine if the place is worthy of your site.

Room/house was hot on arrival as ac not on . Toilet was locked . Phone call fixed it wich was a relief .

It's a very easy and simple place to stay in a nice location near Apollo Bay

Wonderful location, clean and updated.

Budget friendly accommodation in the heart of Apollo Bay. We opted for the budget room with shared bathroom. The bathroom is cleaned daily and spacious. Room was comfortable with basic amenities. Definitely a good option if you’re wanting to save money but still enjoy the beautiful Apollo Bay and surroundings.
