I was looking forward to use the swimming pool and I was surprised to see that the pool was closed and under renovation. When I was booking my stay here, there was no any mentioning about the pool being closed. Nevertheless you are still advertising the pool at this place. This is totally misleading and very, very disappointing.

Very disappointed that we were not told that the entire pool area was closed off. Our 4 children were so looking forward to swimming while we were there. We were not notified by Wotif or the hotel. Then to top it off, builders started grinding tiles at 7am right outside our door. Very disappointed and will not be staying again.

Thankfully the Tourism info centre gave me the details to drive around the back of the Hotel to get in, no entrance on the Esplanade. Bed was very comfy. kitchenette came in handy car parking gate didn't work with our card so had to get that fixed, then on the 3rd day our key card didn't work they had mucked our departure date up. no pool due to renovation but not once did we hear or see any work being done. there was a VERY long walk to the room, sometimes the lights would come on & sometimes not, it was a bit unsafe if you were on your own, needs a upgrade badly.

We enjoyed our stay at Oaks - the only downside was the pools were in the middle of being renovated It is in a great location by the water and the local pier and easy access to walking paths , Botanic Gardens and whale Watching The staff were great and we were given an upgrade to a higher level so we had ocean views

We found the room was lovely and big, however it needs some TLC. The net curtains were ripped at the bottom and the balcony was growing weeds and moss. The outdoor furniture was very tarnished/rusty. The room could do with a deep clean and there were stains on the dining chairs. We did have a slight problem with tiny ants too. However it had everything we needed for a 3 night stay.

Reception was great check in and check out was quick and easy. You were able to grab a coffee down stairs. Room service available. Cafe and dining areas close by. There were a couple of things the bins weren’t emptied when we arrived and a cockroach in one of the rooms. The spa bath had some sort of scum,.

Pool was great! Staff were nice, but never got back to us on late check out. Apartment was nice but the floors were not overly clean, stained towel. Wouldn't bother ordering room service, most of our order didn’t arrive, when it did turn up it was cold or missing things.

Room smelt like sewage and wasn’t notified pool wasn’t in use till we got there. Room service was very average amd there was no cleaning of room on daily occasions wasn’t included in price. So I am wondering what I paid over $200 a night for ?? Definitely won’t be back

The Appartement was OK - not great but Ok: clean, spacious, and ok-equipped. What‘s important to know for international travelers: the WiFi does not work most of the time. Plus: there was no shower, but only a bath tub without shower curtain - nothing for tall people as your head will hit the ceiling… What we paid was not worth the stay.

Didn’t like that they had overbooked. We had booked a one bedroom pool apartment. We were sent down a few stinking hot corridors to eventually find our room. We were put in a two bedroom apt but told if we touched any of the second room stuff we would be billed .. only had two thin bath towels. NO POOL TOWELS. It’s almost like an air b and b. Lounge good. Kitchen good. Shower has seen better days .. beds are super hard. Aircon only in lounge area. Doesn’t quite cool apt. We were put in a room that was directly next to the kids pool so didn’t feel we had privacy .. disappointed. It was one of the top rated hotels in hervey bay… Both restaurants out the front were very good. Great food.

Good view quite nice room. Pool area being done up with no egress through the front of the hotel- had to go out into back street. Restaurants on either side of the hotel both closed in Good Friday no where to eat! Noisy with people upstairs scraping furniture & kids running up & down. Only one set of lifts & very big property, so lots of walking.

Amazing hotel in beautiful Harvey Bay. Right near the Urangan Pier. Stayed a week and wanted to stay forever. Great relaxation spot with spa bath in the ensuite. Ocean view was the best choice. Staff were lovely and accommodating. Will definitely be back.

The room was as advertised so we were satisfied with our choice. The reason I chose this hotel and room was because it had a kitchen with a the mugs, plates and cooking utensils we might need which we definitely made use of. The room also had all the towels and things we needed, good foxtel channels and showers had great water pressure. Pool area was also great.

Staff were very accommodating, friendly and happy to help. Great location. The ice machine on our level was broken, but I think it was from over use for icing many sore muscles and injuries of hockey players bodies. Our entire team stayed stayed for the Provincials hockey tournament and was perfect, although there wasnt a separate room for team or parent gatherings. The only complaint was the breakfast was over prices, the hotel next door had a great coffee and breakfast sandwich at a fair price and tasty!!

From the UK. I stayed here in 2019 when travel for work and loved it. Returned in 2024 as part of our holiday traveling up the coast. When we arrived into our room my mum (62) tripped and fell over an elevated piece on the floor entering the bedroom area. She hurt her foot but not enough to report or seek help, but was very shocked and it really started our stay on a 'downer' (photos attached). We ended up putting a towel down on it. It should really be looked at. I slept on the sofabed, which having previously stayed a number of times, I knew was there. The staff wanted to charge me for extra bedding to use sofabed. Said to receptionist that the place seems to be lacking maintenance - she didn't seem to take much interest in specifics and moved the conversation along. Nice pool. Wouldn't rush back.

The checkin experience was terrible, the keys did not work, the room number on the checkin instructions was different from the one with the hotel security, however the keys did not open either room! Generally, the hotel needs a facelift! The building looks old as well as the lifts and the rooms

We were upgraded from a pool view on the ground floor to the 2nd floor with a view of the bay. The restaurants (Salt & Bayswater Hotel) are right in front of Oaks and provided expansive menus. Very clean and spacious apartment with more than adequate cooking facilities. Parking available at no extra cost. Great spot for hooking into the bike trail or esplanade for running/walking/cycling.

Very nice view from the large balcony, spatious appartment with kitchenette, loved the japanese style bedroom, friendly staff at the reception. Loved the Bayswater Bar & Grill restaurant downstairs, great food. When I got back to Sydney I realised I forgot my dress in the hotel room and I called and they courried it back to me the next day. All in all was a very pleasant experience.
