I booked the hotel for the roof top pool. It was 25 degrees outside in Calgary, Alberta. Parking garage door right on main avenue with very tight drive way into valet parking in small parkade. Homeless people sleeping in there so not very secure. After 8pm you have to push button to be allowed access into parking no room key access. A bit sketchy while waiting in the dark. Check in agent very unpleasant! Told to cancel reservation if I didn't like pool was not open. Balcony faces empty pool. Not much view. Room doors are heavy & bang quite loud when closed so you’re always hearing them. It’s an older hotel so are the rooms. I liked being able to step out onto the balcony which is private. Hotel is in great location to walk downtown to mall parks restaurants trains. Very disappointed that the pool was closed.

I booked this hotel for my friends out of town mainly because of the pool since it was so hot the day they were visiting. The pool is advertised on Expedia and even on its main photo even as I’m writing this review. But then I was really disappointed to hear from my friends that the pool wasn’t in season. Why would you advertise it and not open it on the hottest day of the year so far? It’s false advertisement and they should mention it when they send their few messages after you book. All it said was look forward to seeing you! Very misleading.

Room was clean. Front desk very pleasant both on with check in and check out. Parking staff was also pleasant. Only complaint was the 5-6 buckets right outside our door because of a leak. We were on the 9th floor.

Checking in was amazing and the staff was great. That being said my room was horrible. Starters my door needed to be pushed in with my foot or shoulder along with each time the door opens it's a loud sound that can be heard by the surrounding rooms. The carpet was heavily stained and you can see a patch that was glued in you can obviously see. My bed sheet has some sharpie written numbers on the corners. Behind the headboard the wall outlet was missing the outlet cover. No Air Conditioner so my sleep sucked. But to top it off a damm drain backup while i was taking a shower. Long hair and grey film on my feet due to a backup with the plumbing. I had ro call the front desk and they just send some maintenance guy to unclog it. Room was out dated and if my a customer call about a drain backup while having a shower you think the hotel would call to follow-up. Horrible 2 night stay. Don't waste your money

Poorly maintained. Rooms had definitely been smoked in, bathroom tiles were peeling off, pillows were uncomfortable, no duvet covers on duvets (so how are they cleaned?). Furniture was rickety - overall a shabby hotel. There was one receptionist manning the front desk, even with people queuing up. Yes, it’s convenient be in downtown. But that’s about it.

Staff were extremely nice and accommodating. Rooms and hotel was clean. I think the only issues I’ve had with the hotel was the wifi being extremely slow and almost unusable at times. As well as the room not having a fridge. Other than that I still enjoyed my stay and would go again.

Staff was friendly and helpful. My major issue was with the ventilation in the room. The air conditioner is sort of centralised and was constantly on. I was told by reception that you can't turn it off. The windows were also sealed shut and so you have no choice than to breathe in the air from the A/C. They did give me a heater when it got too cold. But having to constantly breathe in the air from that air conditioner has now left me feeling increasingly unwell with a cough, sore throat and stuffy nose. I think it's not healthy. Another problem was the breakfast. Very little variety and wasnt tasty.

Everything was good, just outdated. No USB ports for charging, no overhead lighting, dim room lamps. We were in the back of the hotel and it was noisy. The staff were great! The room was clean but I found the bed uncomfortable. The location is in a business section.

Tried to call down to the front desk two different times from the room and no one answered.. ended up having to send my husband down stairs to ask for some extra blankets and then it took them half an hour to bring it up to me. Someone needs to answer the phone and if you could be a bit quicker to getting the requests up to the room. As well, we couldn’t find anything saying before we booked that you had underground parking on your website or other websites. Then once we got there there was an extra charge to park underground but the girl at the front desk said it would be about $21 and then when we were charged $25 at the end after all the extra taxes came with the charge.. front staff needs to know what the full charge is if they are going to quote it to people. Also you’re kinda stuck having to park underground if staying at the hotel otherwise they don’t direct you to anywhere else you could park. As well the air vent in the room was making a consistent like white noise machine sound since we got to the room and the temperature was off, we had to turn it up to 20.

Room was mediocre, and the customer service was even worse. My flight was cancelled, so I requested a refund for the first night since I didn’t arrive until the following afternoon. Throughout my stay, I kept being told that the refund “depended on the manager” but would likely be approved given the circumstances. I spent the whole weekend trying to speak to this manager, only to be told things like, “They aren’t in right now—you can try again on Tuesday.” When I finally called back on Tuesday, 2 days after check out, a staff member suddenly changed their story, claiming I had checked in at 1 a.m. on Friday night—when in reality, I didn’t even land in Calgary until 1 p.m. the next day. On top of that, I was spammed with messages about joining their membership program and completing surveys, instead of any real help. When I finally reached the manager, she refused the refund based on the false claim that I had arrived at 1 a.m. Overall, a frustrating and disappointing experience from start to finish. especially when I had to rearrange my itinerary due to airline cancellation frustrations

Honestly, the service has been fine. Good even, but I’ve received 4-5 text messages & multiple emails about checking in or checking out. Why? I can check in & check out at the front counter of the hotel. Give me an option to shut off the cellphone or email notifications. There is no need. Thanks.

Food at The Fox on 6th was amazing, staff there was attentive and did a great job. However, when we checked in the air conditioner in our room wasn’t functioning, while they did transfer us to another room, the second room’s air conditioner was not functioning either

The hotel itself is super sketchy and the breakfast you pay for is not worth it. If it was not for the staff, who were all wonderful, this place would be getting 1 star. The fridge available on request took a day to get because they do not have enough to go around. I had messaged on the app, over email, and called the hotel a week ahead of time to request a crib for the room because those were supposed to be available and they never did get us one. The hotel room is smaller than it looks in the pictures and while it was clean it was very dated. Felt like being at the Overlook in the Shining more than a place for families to stay. The pool is kept clean but it is FREEZING because it is exposed to the elements and not heated. The valets were a 10/10 for service. The front desk was full of needless annoyances which were not their fault but still stupid. For example if you want to go for breakfast you cannot just go to the breakfast area. We went there first and the woman acknowledged she could see we were signed up for the breakfasts but we had to go back to the front counter and get vouchers which was 10 feet from her. Then return to her. Instead of her just checking us off or something. Then on the second day the front desk person offered to just write down a bunch of breakfast vouchers for us which were all dated so we did not have to keep going to the front desk to ask. Why it was all necessary, when it could have just been a list to check off, I do not know.

Convenient downtown location, large, clean room, efficient and friendly service, hot breakfast buffet (for an extra charge, but it's about what a decent hot breakfast would cost anywhere else downtown, and you can load up for the day!) Very close to light rail. Great value for the money: nothing fancy, decor is somewhat outdated, not a lot of default extras--but everything you need, clean and working. For example, there isn't a fridge in every room--but when I asked for one it was provided promptly. I would 100% stay here again.

Hotel staff and location were the positives. Unfortunately we had a noisy neighbour that kept us up most of the night but the hotel did what they could to provide assistance. We were disappointed that the hotel pool was not heated so unless you have a very hot sunny day there is no point in coming to the pool. Breakfast is very expensive and poor quality. Parking is extremely expensive as well. Overall the hotel staff is what saved this place but we won’t plan to stay again. Pay the extra few dollars for a nicer hotel with free parking and breakfast. This hotel reminded us of the airlines, charging extra for every little thing.
