We approached the hotel by car from the side and it was not obvious where the entrance was. The car was valet parked without fuss, there is a paid underground car park nearby too. The hotel overlooks the valley towards the city and afford spectacular views. The walk into the city across the bridge takes around 20 minutes. The restaurant was excellent for dinner and breakfast with a great bar.

Very friendly staff & easy check in & out. Good breakfast. Nice sized bedroom…but didn’t like the fact the toilet in a separate room off internal corridor with no sink. Gym could do with a better bike & at least one leg machine.

When I checked out, no one asked me how my stay was. First night at 23:00, children were screaming on the floor above me. When I called the reception, there weren't much willingness to help. The second night, also after 23:00, children screaming and dog barking very loud. It was not a toddler showing hunger, these were screams of tears from someone a bit older. The hotel also (forgot?!?) to clean my room and replace clean towels as well as not turndown service, no communication at all. These experiences are perhaps not the end of the world, but I was surprised and disappointed. I returned because I was so pleased with my last stay 6 months earlier. Perhaps I will try another hotel on my next trip to Luxembourg.

- horrible beds (both my partner and I woke up with back pains) - we were at the 7th floor which is one floor below the restaurant, and the hallway smelled from cooking - semi-blocked sink - TV doesn't work - insecure internet (anyone can just login and you don't even need to agree with T&C) - bad breakfast... Didn't have much to offer (seems like they're not refilling - if the bread is finished you're out of luck)... Eggs looked like they're made from egg powder

Guy @ check-in was blunt & w/poker face - shouldn't be in hospitality industry. Everybody else after were fine. Shower faucet requires both hands to turn on & it's difficult to adjust water temp. Bad design. Shower door is impossible to close from inside - someone outside needs to push it to close tight to avoid water from going out the 1" wide vertical gap.

Beautiful property and outstanding service. Employees continually asked how they could improve my stay. Cesar found an experienced driver to take me to WW2 battle sites. He also mailed a coat to me that I left behind in the driver’s car. He got numerous quotes for shipping options and mailed it to me at my hotel in Paris. This was a huge inconvenience for him. I am beyond grateful. Le Sofitel never disappoints. I stay at their hotels around the world. Bravo!

Accessible location between the train station and the main city area. We stay there since it was close to the train station and bus stops from the airport. My wife and I loved our 4 night stay at the Sofitel Grand Ducal. The location of the hotel is almost directly in between uptown and downtown. A brilliant central location. The reception staff were really excellent. Very friendly, very helpful and always smiling!! A bit shout out to Kevin Kayir who stood out as one of the best receptionists I ever came across.... In fact all the staff at this hotel are brilliant, personable, friendly and professional. We received a free upgrade to a beautiful valley view and the included breakfast was great! Lovely fresh juices, a good assortment of breads, cheese, salmon, eggs etc etc and we never left the breakfast room hungry :) The restaurant menu was not really to our taste and the bar food was fairly limited so we tended to eat out for lunch and dinner, with lots of great restaurants within easy walking distance. The bedrooms were fabulous. My only comment would be the desk was a little 'tired' and storage space for clothes was lacking. I suggest moving the coffee machines to the desk area which I would replace with a dressing table integrated with drawers. Bathroom and shower were modern, clean with high quality Balmain soaps etc and the toilet was separate which was also nice. This was our first trip to Luxembourg and we would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. Highly recommend...

The hotel is a reasonably modern hotel that is a short walk from the city centre and easy to get to by bus from the airport which made it very convenient to stay. We had a room with a city view which was really nice as you look out onto the old town.

When I arrived, the hotel upgraded me to a city view, I think in part due to my flight being cancelled and getting there about 7 hours later than expected. Really superb room and very clean. Bar on 8th floor was lovely, went there every night. Restaurant on 8th floor used for breakfast, and that was really good too. Good selection of continental things, and some eggs and sausages too but I had plenty with the breads, pastries, Yoghurt etc. Great hotel, service top notch and loved my room. Would definitely recommend and return.
