Las Terrazas is a gem. If a quiet break from everything is what you are seeking then this is the place. It is located at the end of the paved road from Los Barilles and takes you back to the Baja of 50 years ago. In El Cardonal there is a small village with two little convenience stores and that is about it. Las Terrazas has a restaurant the is open from 8:00am til late so you have a place to dine and the food is excellent and the prices most reasonable. We stayed just two nights but next time will plan to stay longer. We had a room with a spectacular sea view and we would have our morning coffee on our balcony watching the ocean as the sun rose. It was the best form of therapy. We were either on our balcony, in the shaded bar or under the canopy by the pool. It was heavenly.

We never made it to the hotel! The Expedia map directions took us over a very dangerous dirt and rock road. We got stuck (even in 4wd). It was getting dark and my wife and I were very scarred! Luckily, we were saved by a gentleman who was coming the other direction on an atv. He couldn't pass, since the road was very narrow. He was able to help us backdown the mountain and get to safety. After we got to safety, I called and texted the hotel, and Expedia! No response from either of them. The next day I did get thru to Expedia, who told me I could get a refund, but I had to upgrade to a "refundable" reservation and pay an extra $400. Something isn't right with this listing. Be careful of potential fraud.

This listing was La Paz and it is NO WHERE near La Paz. It is up the coast from Los Barriles. Very remote, quiet and peaceful. Great place to step away from the world.
