Breathtaking views. We were upgraded to lake facing view. Free shuttle service to and from the train station. Highly recommend

A very reasonably price hotel close to the center of old town St Moritz. The staff were extremely helpful. The hotel has a nice little spa and the rooms were clean and relatively spacious.Try to get a lakeside view room if you can. The view is worth the supplement alone. Finally and maybe the most important aspect it also has the greatest commerical selection of Whiskeys in the world!

Fabulous hotel on the lake in St Moritz. Perfect location. Wonderful friendly staff. Room was comfortable and warm. Good breakfast included and dining options were good. Spa was very welcome after days hiking. Would highly recommend and would love to return one day.

Beautiful property. Amazing views!! All the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again. The property offers free shuttle to the train station if needed and the town is only about a 10 min walk away.

Das Zimmer 713 war im 1. UG. Die Aussicht ist immer noch i.O. Was schade ist: die Vorhänge sind innen an den kleinen Fenstern angebracht und können nicht zurückgebunden werden, sodass man nur etwa 1/2 der Sicht hat. Badezimmer ist super; speziell, dass man den Abzug individuell einschalten kann.

Delightful hotel, beautifully located by the lake, very close to the train station. My single room was small but very cosy, warm and clean.

Absolutely loved our stay, which unfortunately was only for one night. Although a 3 star it felt like we stayed in a 4 or 5 star hotel. The views over the frozen lake and mountains from our room and the restaurant were breathtaking. The room was very clean and comfortable with lots of nice touches that made it extra special - the dressing gowns were so luxurious. Breakfast was fantastic. Looking forward to staying again.

部屋は清潔でとても静かでした。スタッフも皆さんアットホームな雰囲気で、駅からのシャトルを用意頂いているのも大変助かりました。レストランでは夕食にスープとジビエを頂きましたが、非常に充実した内容でした。マッシュルームのクリームスープは忘れられないほど美味しかったです。おそらくサンモリッツの地元の天然キノコではないかと思いました。また鴨肉の料理にも栗など季節ものの素材が使われており大変よかったです。おすすめ頂いたグラスワインも大変美味でした。ディスプレイされたウイスキーのコレクションも素晴らしく、今回は頂けなかったのは残念でしたが、次回の訪問の際にはウイスキーもトライしてみたいと思います。

This is a newly renovated hotel and was a pleasure to stay in. Our first impressions were good, the hotel was clean and the room newly renovated. Our first allocated room however had a problem in that a chimney from the kitchen passes through the room with a constant vibration and drone. We flagged this up to reception who moved us immediately. The second room was also newly renovated and had a view over the lake, mountains and town of St. Moritz. The positioning of this hotel is better than any in the centre (in our opinion). Breakfast was served overlooking the lake. The hotel also has a large whiskey collection. It also has a spa. This was a great hotel and we would love to return there again.

👍 Bemerkung: Galstüre zu Dusche/WC klemmt. Standort WC-Papierhalter am falschen Ort. Deshalb ist er von den Gästen mit dem rechten Arm bereits fast weggeschlagen.

Good, clean and nice staff hotel could be 4 star.

Room was disappointing as although it was an attic room, after dark the lighting was poor in the bed end and there was little room to walk round the bed. Definitely not as bright as the picture in the website. No lift to attic floor and hand rail up narrow stairs not very solid. Service was sporadic during dinner. Check in was just average. Check out much better.

Had booked two single rooms which were very tiny and a bit like a prison cell! Upgraded at a very high cost. Otherwise everything was perfect

The Hotel Waldhaus am See is a beautiful hotel right on the lakeshore in St Moritz. The hotel itself is a throwback to the grand hotels of the past but well maintained and elegant. It’s location couldn’t be more beautiful and it is only steps from the train station. After a long day on the Glacier Express, what stood out the most was the service at the Waldhaus. I arrived very tired and at check-in I met the nicest person I met in my entire European trip; Anna Maria. She instantly made me feel more than a hotel guest. She made me feel as a welcome family member. I hope management realizes the treasure they have at the front desk! When you stay at this hotel, be sure to book a room with a “lake view”. As you can see from the attached picture taken from my room, the views are stunning! After a comfortable night’s sleep, what a wonderful vista to welcome the morning! The breakfast buffet was very tasty with more than your average pastries and coffee, but the view from the dining room is what sets this place apart. Thanks again to Anna Maria and the rest of the staff for making my stay in St Moritz so memorable. Read less Tip: As you come out of the train station to the lake side, facing the lake, the hotel is at 10 o’clock up the hill.

Lighting in the room could be improved. Subdued lighting is Ok for a romantic restaurant but not when you’re packing your bag and you need to find a missing pair of socks. Staff on Reception were helpful. The guy on the bar with the fancy moustache was hopeless, far too slow. He was more interested in chatting to a couple of women at the bar from the US. Perhaps it was the prospect of a tip? Anyway, no coffee for us which was unfortunate.

Chambre propre mais très simple pour le prix, sans vue à l'arrière 1er étage, placet de la cuvette de toilette mal fixé, circulation en montée, voix des fumeurs à l'extérieur, musique du bar à whiskys une partie de la nuit. Service du sommelier pas correcte.

Perfect location if you wish to be close to the train station. Very friendly and helful staff. Great breakfast with a fabulous view over the lake from the dining room. Rooms are compact and no air conditioing, these were the only negatives.

Front desk service people in hotel were snobby

This is an okay hotel. The staff were the biggest disappointment. We arrived to check in and the reception staff were standing in the back but we were clearly in view as having just arrived (transported by the hotel driver from the train station). We were completely ignored for at least 5 minutes until we said “excuse me” and one of the staff came out and checked us in in a very rude and rushed way. We had a similar experience with the breakfast staff. There was no one to seat us on entry so we assumed we could sit anywhere without a reserved sign. We sat at a window table without a reserved sign. The waiter then scolded us very loudly and rudely and said we were not able to sit there, saying it was “not possible.” We said okay and asked why as we got up to move. He ignored us. He then came back about 10 minutes later with a reserved sign saying it was reserved for another family all day. We advised him that that was all he needed to say and didn’t need to say it in such a rude and embarrassing way. Our final run in with staff was on our day of checkout. We were finalising packing in our room. We heard a knock on the door. No sooner could we get to the door to see who it was, the cleaning staff was opening the door and letting themselves in with their key. This is a very serious invasion of privacy. The staff member should have waited and called out housekeeping before entering the room within 10 seconds of knocking. The hotel room was nice. Good bathroom.

The housekeeping staff walked into our room 3 times at 8am, 9am and 10am while we were getting ready in the morning before the 11am checkout - no knocking, just swiped her card and opened the door! We did not have the “clean room” card on the door. I also had medication on the bed when we went to breakfast, which was missing when we came back to the room. I approached the desk and they were uninterested. I didn’t want to accuse anyone of anything but we dumped all luggage and checked room several times - all in all, their staff should not be walking into the rooms without knocking as we could be getting dressed, huge invasion of privacy for a room I am paying for and check out time was hours away. Odd it was 3 different times as well. The male servers and evening check in staff were amazing and we enjoyed the food. The morning front desk, housekeeping and breakfast staff were not friendly. All in all I would not recommend for these reasons. Of course I use the safe for valuables, but didn’t think about medication as we went to breakfast, and not having it will be a huge burden to obtain out of the country.

The staff at the hotel is very kind and welcoming. The room was spectacular, with the best view. However, the driver of the hotel shuttle was a major disappointment — he didn’t speak English, was rude to me, and dropped me off midway because he didn’t know the address. This was a very upsetting experience that contrasted with the otherwise excellent service.

Everyone from reception to restaurant and housekeeping was exceptionally professional, kind and helpful. I have stayed in a few other hotels in town and was extremely happy with my stay here.

It’s a cute hotel and the surrounding area is gorgeous. Very close to the train station, you just have to walk a little hill to get up to the hotel. Gorgeous views all around!

This hotel was fabulous! I chose it because of its proximity to the train station, but was pleasantly surprised how nice the property was. The restaurant was excellent! The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Fabulous location, stunning views. Antonio the waiter is brilliant in the restaurant, great food. Lovely view across the lake whilst eating. Breakfast good but not restocked very quickly, had to ask for milk, tea bags. Fruit selection was low and that was 2 hours before end of service. Wasn’t like that last time we stayed there but would still go again.

The property is in a beautiful location! Great views of the lake and St Moritz town. Close to the train station- easy walk. Close to the main area of town as well. Breakfast is excellent, dining room has beautiful views of the whole area. Beds are excellent! Best night sleep on our trip in these beds!
