Quick stopover in Ames to do the Rail Explorers rail ride in Boone and the High Tressel Bridge night bike ride down in Madrid. Unfortunately, a few things in the hotel needed some TLC (clogged- slow draining bathroom sink, toilet was running- probably a slow leak, dresser drawer just kept opening on its own...ghosts? Pool area was closed for some maintenance). Bad luck maybe for the hotel... but we did do the things we came here to do! Parking was ample and the breakfast area and selection was good!

This antiquated property would benefit from a deep clean and additional staffing. Rust on the handrails for the pool and hot tub, the pool area only had 5 of the 12 lightbulbs lit when we went in the evening, (and the pool had clouds of floating debris that needed vacuuming). At breakfast the powder eggs were overcooked, all bagels, bread and muffins were stale, and they were out of waffle batter and coffee with not attempt to refill either. The bed was comfortable, which was the only redeeming aspect of our overnight stay.

The hotel was much better than expected for the price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast wasn’t much to rave about but decent enough. The pool and jacuzzi were clean but small. The work out room had equipment that didn’t work which was a bummer. But overall it was a good hotel.

Booked a room for our 2 grandchildren since they were having a time because their parents had taken a vacation without them. Plan was to take them to a hotel to go swimming. Booked on line with “a pool”. Not working. It was raining outside Saturday morning so no swimming outside either. This confirmed that I am done paying extra to stay at Fairfield at Marriott.

Breakfast preparation lady was noisy. Breakfast was below average. Not up to mark for Fair Field Inn. Main hotel entry doors were broken. Room service was reluctantly done despite the request. Won’t stay there again. Not worth the money. Would rather stay at quality inn.

The room, beds, breakfast and shower were good. We were very disappointed, however, that the pool was closed, and when we went to use the exercise room, none of the equipment worked and the air conditioning was broken. The ice machine on the first floor was also broken.

Kids running halls/screaming on 1st floor until 1am, yet management did nothing. Bed was the most uncomfortable night of sleep I've had in years, hot tub was out of order. My wife and I pick hotels based on whether they have a hot tub. Breakfast was ok but potatoes and eggs were barely warm. We've stayed at many Fairfield Inns over the years and this was not the typical experience. Disappointed. Possible FF Inn's good run is over.

Toliet was plugged we had to switch rooms verses it being plunged. The room wasn’t as clean as I expected. The mattress was very hard. Hot water faucet didn’t work on bathroom sink.

Everyone was very nice and helpful. Very quiet and convenient to freeways. The only thing I would say could have been better is the cleanliness of the room I stayed in. Bathroom door looked like frosting finger marks from little ones as well as on the window. Also the bathtub had that pinkish/red fungus in a couple spots.

I typically do not leave negative reviews but this hotel is horrible. The first room had disgusting black hairs and yellow stains all over the beds. The lady at the front desk was nice enough and said we can either change the sheets or change rooms..we changed rooms. The second room did not have black hairs in the bed but had them all over the bathroom floor. The walls were filthy, the carpet was disgusting, there was soda or something else splashed on the wall and just left to dry, the pool was ice cold, there was bugs all in the lobby, and the bed was extremely warn out. I am disappointed Marriott is allowing these owners to use their name.

Very friendly staff. The building could use some maintenance/decor changes. There are broken/cracked shades on the hall lights. One of our rooms was still slightly dirty, but the staff accommodated us immediately. Breakfast was really good and well supplied. Entrees were hot when they should be hot and cold for cold items. Tables needed some cleaning here and there.

We were just passing through, so didn’t stay long. Service was friendly and everything was in good order. The room was super noisy. We had to unplug the fridge and there was still a lot of noise from heater? Each of us to wait for hot breakfast food.

The hotel is clean and the personnel is very cordial and warm. Especially Lisa from the kitchen ; she goes beyond her duty to give a special service to the guests . Our only dissatisfaction was the night when we arrived with the thermostat of the room , it was broken and the night was chilly. Nevertheless, as soon we informed the situation , we got another room in perfect conditions.

The front desk employee was exceptionally kind and professional. He greeted us warmly and seemed genuine in serving us. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Complimentary bottled water and 24/7 coffee and tea was a nice perk. The hotel was also in a convenient location - just down the road from several restaurants and shopping areas. This place exceeded our expectations, especially for the price.

Clean room, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Our only complaint was the breakfast. The staff was not able to provide plates and food offerings throughout our 6 night stay. The staff shared their boss forgot to place an order and another staff member was excited to be leaving soon as she was fed up with never having what she needed to properly serve guests breakfast in the morning. I see this as a management issue and felt bad for the staff who had to deal with constantly needing to tell guests they were out of the basics.

This hotel was part of an 8 day road trip. We stopped here on our last night. It was by far the best hotel we stayed at. Everyone in our family of 7 loved the breakfast. There were so many choices. The rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable, and the hotel was quiet. The hotel was clean and quiet.

There was no hand soap. When we asked, we were told that they didn’t get their shipment in. To me, that is unacceptable. The breakfast options were limited and the juice was served in bottles and there was no more when we came down at 8 am.
