Great resort but only complaint is tge spa was down for service and I coukd not have a late check out. Staff friendly when check in but dud not tell is about the spa being diwn until after check in.

The staff were incredible 10/10. We were surprised at the lack of care in the amenities. The pool and hot tub in the locker room were especially disappointing. It was kind of a surprise too to see that things like the sauna and coffee area were never available during our stay. I’m also concerned there may be a glitch in their system that is meant to notify people when their room is ready. We showed up a little early with no expectations of getting in and the kind woman behind the counter took us through the check in process and that we’d be all set. they’d send a text when our room is ready. We waited for 35 minutes pass check in time and finally went back to see if our room was ready. We’re not upset at any of the staff about this- they are all clearly doing their best!

Some of the staff members are surely showing signs of overwork. They are understaffed. This was surely evident when we went to pick up a coffee and it took over 30 minutes for us to get what we had originally ordered two people working behind the counter. Went specifically to spend some time in the hot tub, sauna, and pool. The sauna AND hot tub were out of commission. Pool area was cold and no towels. DISAPPOINTING. Finally, presented my keys to the valet on arrival. Brand new crystal keychain missing when fob was returned to me.

The elevators in the parking garage(s) need to have better upkeep. They STINK like urine!! The casino and hotel are nice and within walking distance there are good places to eat like The Brooklyn Street Local. The fitness center is great. The pool area is okay. The hot tubs are not a part of the pool. They have a hot tub in the men’s locker room and women’s locker room so they are separate from each other.

Hotel is beautiful, but strange rules/practices. The pool is only open until nine, but you have to be in it by six because the elevator shuts the floor off at six. Silliest thing I have ever heard. There are hot tubs as well - one for women in the womens locker room, and one for men in theirs.....so don't plan for a relaxing soak with your opp sex spouse. There is not a fridge in your room (except the mini bar fridge, which charges you to remove any of the weight-sensored items) - I understand that it is to force you to use their many restaurants and room service, but hope you don't have medication you need chilled, or want a cold bottle of water in the middle of the night. It is a nice place, and our view was amazing, but I probably will not return.

Nice casino and easy to self park. Noticeably dirty in places, but the room was quiet and felt pretty clean. Though there were 4 elevators to service hotel guests, only one elevator was working which meant long waits for an elevator - heard many complaints about that. Great indoor pool and spa.

Casino and restaurants are great. Valet and front desk at check in was wonderful and friendly. The carpet in the room was dirty. The bedding had not been changed from previous guest. We paid for a night floor and got the 4th floor looking at an air conditioning unit. The pool was closed along with the hot tub in the men’s locker room one of the reasons we stayed here and we still were charged a resort fee. The elevators took aver 30 minutes to get on the entire stay. Would come back to the casino and sports book but would not stay in the hotel again. Just disappointing.

Had a great stay. Won some money. FYI. If you stay. Definitely have valet park your vehicle. It is a long walk to the parking garage from motel room. Definitely will be back. Don’t touch the drinks n your mini fridge unless you want to pay for them. I mean DONT touch them. lol.

Didn’t like the fact that my 10 year old wasn’t able to swim. Doesn’t make sense. Will be choosing a different hotel in Detroit during our next visit in September.

These rooms are too expensive for the lack of cleanliness. I stayed in the executive suite. There was hair on the sinks, in the shower, on the bathroom floor. The walls and floor of the shower has not been properly cleaned in a long time. I laid towels on the floor to take a shower. (I would’ve requested a new room had my stay been longer) -They need to scrub those shower walls and not just spray and wipe over. And it took ten minutes and two people to properly turn the shower on. 😩

Hotel is huge and in perfect proximity to take in a Red Wings game. Unfortunately the white bed had a large yellow stain on the cover, as if it hadn’t been changed or cleaned and something in the ventilation system made a very large, jarring noise about once an hour all through the night. No one was able to sleep well. Beds seemed comfy enough though. I just expected a bit more for the price we paid

There is no Variety of food for a family. Have to be21 to access the food court. No local shuttle service. Room was dirty. Found fake eyelashes stuck to wall. Blood on the sheets Inconvenient to park Will NEVER be back

Our room was tidy as far as clean in the refrigerator was some leftover bacon from probably the client before us-Make sure to check all small signs so that you don’t lift anything off of the credenza and be charged for it.

Initial room assignment was replaced after excessive dust dirt and hair found throughout room especially perimeter, replacement room in near same condition with furniture simply worn out and no effort on cleaning behind furniture leaving food and property along with thick layers of dust. Purchased second room for family which appeared to be slightly better but still nowhere near the regular $500 a night. This is a casino and that is probably where it excels as the hotel is no better than any two star hotel in line with vintage Red Roof or old Knights Inn because of the dust/dirt and worn appearance of the rooms.

Check in is 4pm. We arrived after that. Rooms were not ready and we had to wait an hour for the 2 rooms we booked. For the amount of money being spent on rooms you would also think they would be clean. Shower had visible mold growth and hairs . Other tenants partying with loud music til early morning hours.

The shower had mold. No daily room service- at that price should be every day. In the middle of nowhere Detroit. They screwed up my parking- and the person tried to explain to me I was HANDED the wrong ticket- I suggested they tell the valets not me what ticket the guests should get.

There were a few issues, the toilet wouldn’t flush a couple times here and there, and whenever the AC heat unit turned on or off it made an extremely loud noise and kept waking us up throughout the night. For the money we paid I was kind of disappointed in the quality of the room because of it.

The slots were not nice at all and didn’t even let us play a few hours before taking it all. The room appeared clean but there were crumbs underneath the coffee tables and couch. Stains and burn holes in the carpet, and a couch that swallowed you whole if you tried to sit on it. No refrigerator or microwave without requesting it but they sure did have a sensor loaded mini fridge as a mini bar with an $8 can of pringles, $9 cookies, candy covered chocolate, or gummy bears. Not the infused kind either. All of the restaurants closed at 11 or earlier and our pizza order was canceled due to being at the resort. You have to key in the elevator to enter your floor before it will go which shows how not safe this place really is. The hotel advertised quiet rooms. I expected thicker walls and doors because of this but this was not the case at all. We were awoken at 2:29am by another room hosting some sort of hotel party where everyone was hooting and hollering. We ended up calling concierge twice but the rooom would only quite down for a couple minutes and then they’d turn it right back up. Needless to say we were up all night from the noise but probably would have been up anyway with how uncomfortable and lumpy the bed and pillows were. Never again.

We stayed for 4 nights, had a Luxury King bed room and enjoyed the fact that it was easy to book, loved the needing a key card to access the hotel and need the key again to access the rooms. The room itself was nice and clean and the shower was my favorite! I lived how hot the water gotten and the fact the shower was huge enough for 2 separate shower heads. Loved it! The downfall was being charged for the mini bar items we wasn’t aware of! The sign is so little that we didn’t notice that the mini fridge is weighted and if u remove anything even the candy items, it will be charged to your room like you taken it even if u place it back. However the young lady at the front desk was able to revere the charges. Only hicccp but a good stay.

The MGM Grand Detroit didn't disappoint. The room was very nice and the bathroom was amazing with double sinks and a large vanity to lay your items out. The walk-in shower was HUGE and had a standard shower head (adjustable) and the rainfall shower head from the ceiling...both could be used at the same time, but you can't stand under both at the same time as they were offset. Regardless, I travel more than the average person and the hotel room was one of the nicer that I've stayed in a while. Also, the hotel staff were amazing and exceedingly helpful and polite. Great experience staying there and my meeting location was across the street. The only downfall is that if you want to go to dining locations downtown or the baseball/football fields you're looking at a 20 minute walk in an area full of parking lots and run down buildings. I would not walk it at night time. Otherwise, if you are going to gamble you have zero reason to leave the hotel.

We arrived at the counter at 4 after over a 30 minute wait in the line for valet just to be told our room was not ready and that they would send a text in 35 to 40 minutes when it was. We were also there with friends who were told the same thing. This was quite disappointing because we were going to a concert that started at 5:45 and needed to shower before going. At 6:15 us or our friends still had not got a text so we called and they told us we could come get our room keys. when we got to the counter I explained to them that we had not got a text or call and they just did not seem to care. One set of elevators were not working also which caused huge lines and long waits just to get to our room. The room was nice and clean but the coffee maker did not work.

We came to the MGM Grand Detroit for our 31st Wedding Anniversary. From check in to dinner to check out was an amazing experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The quality of the room was outstanding and I cannot say enough about the high level of service and fiod quality at D. PRIME. This property really made us feel special on our important day!

I went to the desk around the corner and the desk man there said so sorry and immediately found us an available upgraded room with apologies Daniella was an outright liar

We stayed at MGM for its free parking and walkability to Comerica Park for baseball games. It was great for that, and we were pleased with the hotel itself, especially all of the staff that was so courteous and helpful. Our stay was restful and relaxing, and we will definitely stay here again.

Great location! We came into the city to see a Def Leppard concert and was able to easily walk to the venue from the casino/hotel. PARKING IS FREE!!! Big plus!

When we arrived at the hotel there were several police cars, an ambulance, and a deceased person under a white sheet outside of the self parking garage. The police officer was very rude when we asked where we could park since the self parking lot was blocked. Thankfully the front desk lady was very understanding and provided us with complimentary valet. However, it was very scary and did not make us feel safe in this building/area.

This hotel/casino was enjoyable to us, but we realized that in the evening and after dark it was best to stay inside the property. The hotel/casino is located in downtown Detroit and while the property itself is great, the outlying area around it not so much so. The hotel was clean with a few dining options (more would be better) and the casino was enjoyable.

There are no dining options or room service after 10:30 pm. No garbage can in our bathroom. Only 2 bottles of water to be shared between 4 people. The room, elevators and hallways are showing signs of wear. Not worth the money and I wouldn’t stay again in the future.

While I enjoy the room amenities, not having room service after 11pm, seems odd for a MGM property, especially a 24/7 casino. Additionally the TAP restaurant should have some all-day breakfast items or a breakfast menu beyond 11am, as some folks checkout at 11am and look forward to breakfast but have to go to an external restaurant.

The strike affected the level of service much more than was explained. There were no spa services, no gym available, very limited food outlets available. I would not have booked at this hotel, had I been aware of these things. I will never return.

I ordered food for in room service and it was a disaster. It was delivered and hour late, we didn't get everything we ordered or any condiments like syrup, butter for pancakes, cream sugar for coffee. And the staff were so rude about it
