Comfort Inn Sault Ste Marie MI

Facility is older and very poorly maintained. Outside entry doors were out of order. Only one elevator in the entire facility, located in the rear of the building. Highly inconvenient for guest.

Entire first floor reeked of pot smoke, pool was broken

Booked this hotel because it had a pool, and one of the only ones left in the area that had availability with a pool. I booked Tuesday and called Thursday. None of either days, did they say anything about the pool being closed. I understand that things happen, just a heads up would have been nice.

Unfortunately I didn't get her name, but the young lady at the desk when I checked in was the sweetest and most polite person I've ever encountered in the hospitality industry. And holy cow she was fast! The second night of my stay, I called the front desk for washcloths and toilet paper. I was on the 2nd floor but she must have a secret portal or something because it seemed like she was at the door as soon as I hung up the phone! The only negative thing I want to mention is the parking lot. Holy crater potholes! Especially the ginormous canyon right at the parking lot entrance. But....it's Michigan and road canyons are everywhere! I'll definitely be staying at this particular hotel again, and hopefully soon. 😁

Hotel was not in the greatest condition. Roughly a foot at the bottom of some walls was exposed to the framing. Pool was very cold and hot tub jets did not work. Hallways are narrow and dimly lit. Room was decent but bathroom was not super clean or nice. We travel to the Soo area at least once a year and we will not stay at this hotel again in the future.

Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel itself in need of some repair. Sprinkler system not working (signs posted). Hot tub hot but little to no jet action. Sauna out of order. Finding the pool was difficult. Breakfast was luke warm but edible.

The hot tub jets didn’t work which was disappointing but the hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable.

I booked this hotel because of the sauna. It was out of order, and the hot tub didn’t turn on. 😡

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Only downside was the hot tub jets weren't working, but we were able to enjoy the warm wayer.

the room was filthy , our socks turned black from the floor .the shower wall was really loose .. the tub filled with water while showering . the drain was really slow . the folks at the desk was really hard to understand . NOT WORTH THE MONEY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we'll never go back

Very clean room! Staff were friendly and courteous, helping with anything I needed. Breakfast was good too! Well stocked!

Very tired looking. Smelled like old cigarettes, caulk in the shower area falling out, the front desk person looked like we disturbed her while she was sitting there. Like the location, any the bed was comfortable.

The Comfort Inn was a bit worn down looking but the staff was attentive, it was reasonably clean (for a hotel), and our stay worked out well.

My room was not cleaned and the common areas were very dirty. When we arrived there was a sign saying the pool was closed and it remained closed for our entire stay. I would not stay here again.

*Average stay* Upon check in, the halls smelled of old, stale cigarette smoke. The actual room was dirty. Fridge had not been cleaned out and had sticky food substance spilled all over inside. (Front desk did clean up for us) Bathroom had hair all over floor and tub. One Comforter had a large old blood like stain on it. Beds were more on the harder side, (just my opinion) Walls were so thin I could hear the people in the next room’s entire conversation(until well after midnight) they were just speaking normal-not yelling- One female staff at front was polite & friendly along with the male food server tending to breakfast was amazing. For a semi-decent price, it is conveniently located to food /store venues & 8-9 min drive from Soo Locks

I paid over $400 for two nights at this hotel. This hotel is not worth $200 a night maybe $95 at best. However it wasn't terrible. The staff was nice. The room was clean except it was a bit Dusty other than the dustiness it was clean. The beds are comfortable. It is a bit outdated but they do try to keep the rooms up to date. I would probably only stay here if it was the last resort as it was a last resort for me during this stay.

Comfort Inn? More, like, UnComfort(able) Inn. Let's start with what was a pre-paid check-in. Facility had just two staff working on a Friday evening, heading into a long weekend. One, a new employee the other a supervisor or manager. Check-In,(especially with pre-paid), is usually signing some forms, providing vehicle info and Bob's your uncle. Nope. Began to take a while. Unfortunately, new staff member was working desk and was unaware of part of the check-in. That part - a $1 deposit? Uhmm - I prepaid $260 C$ for a one-night stay. Made no sense. Further, after about 30 mins and new staff being unable to reach supervisor/manager, gave person a $1 bill. After a 12-hour drive, you would too! Next, the room. The ventilation unit was noisy AF. At one point in evening, we had someone knock on our window from outside. The Internet, Free WiFi. Uhmm. Does not seem that the facility has proper capacity/service to provide to a full building of guests. After a struggle and valiant effort, I was unable to connect my tablet to get in a bit of R&R before dozing off. Disappointing. Then, in morning, discovered that little to no maintenance or pre-room checks are done. The tub (which doubles as a shower), did not drain correctly. Obviously plugged with things I'd rather never know. So yeah, Un-Comfort(able) Inn. Money back please!

We have stayed here a couple of times over the years. It is old and a little dated but the bed was comfortable and the experience was good. Would stay again

Constant pounding on the floor from the room above. Had the front desk check this out twice. Finally became quiet after 2nd visit from front desk.

Less then pleased. Hotel over all was just ok. Greated in a freindly manner at checkin. Now for the flaws. During our 4 night stay room was not cleaned while we were out. We needed toilet paper and towels called the desk they said they would have it up shortly this was at 830pm. By 9am the next morning no towles no toilet paper was delivered. We went to the front desk at breakfast there they gave is a roll of tolet paper and towels. When told that we requested thos over 12 hrs ago she just said sorry and went on with her day. Also there rooms over look thr indoor pool. No care was given about kids screaming and yelling until thr pool closed at 11pm. We had to ask the lady cleaning an ajoinging room to come in and service the room. All she did was grab the trash and dirty towles. We also found out when we got there and in the room. The volume button on the remote didnt work so i told them came back to a different remote. This the volume worked but power button didnt. By this time asking for help was a lost cause. Tv channel choies lacked so much we purchased a roku to watch tv in the evening. Nor looking to stay there again especially for a suite and the rate i paid.

Room had a very weird smell. The sink didn’t want to drain and the shower barely had any water pressure or warm water. The room hair dyer also did not work. The beds and room was clean. The weird smell was just off putting.

Great room, big comfy bed and jetted tub was perfect. We’ll be staying there again for sure

Comfortable beds and clean rooms, but the staff was horrible. Had several guests staying in different rooms we knew who had to repeatedly replace their key card during their 2 night stay. We’ve never had a problem with key cards or had to replace them. Every time we’d go down to the front desk the woman there would state “someone must have keyed the cards wrong”, then denied it was her (even though it was). When checking in 5 minutes early we were told our room was still dirty, which we understood. Came back later and had to wait behind a couple who were looking for a hotel room. 15 minutes of the front desk person calling various hotels in the area while I waited and another person behind me. Then the phone rang and she answered that. I was finally checked in and given no directions on where to find my room and was simply told she apologized for the wait and was “just trying to help someone”. I understand helping someone, but the people trying to find a place to stay both had phones in their hands and helping them after your guests would have been the more appropriate option. The breakfast was inedible and nearly empty an hour after opening. No one filing utensils or coffee. I came back an hour later with the rest of my family and it was even worse. The pool was murky and the odor of chlorine was uncomfortably strong. We would never stay here again.

rooms were okay, but staff was almost non-verbal. Nobody attending desk. Nobody attending breakfast area with no monitoring of food. Could not even eat breakfast either day!

The room was clean, staff was friendly. I heard the staff give rates to two people over the phone for much less ($50) than I paid for the same room. Which makes me wonder if it would be cheaper just to call the hotel directly to make reservations. Had problems with the room keys not programming correctly, and had to go to the desk to get into the room twice. Was told that the jets in the hot tub were not working, so didn’t bother checking out the pool area. Breakfast was average but not bad.

steve at check-in was as good as you could ask for. He was very friendly, helpful and provided the service everyone would want to experience . He went above and beyond in my opinion and made my stay with them a great experience.

Check in was so easy and clerk was so nice and knowledgable of the hotel and the area.

i was staying here for approx 1 1/2 weeks. i wanted to give a shout to Randi and Kit!! They went above and beyond with me. i had some issues with my booking. i kept adding a dew days to it nd they worked it with there existing bookings to make it seemless and im sure it was quite a headache!! thank u ladies!!!

Location was excellent close to restaurants and shopping. Location of the room with a little out of the way.

This was an older property, but our room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was not very friendly. Near an Applebee’s which was a good, walkable dinner option.

Easy in and out near highway

Close off exit w/o traffic noise, everything close by or within a 5 min drive

Applebees was within walking distance, shopping available

Close to highway interchange. Clean facility and was greeted immediately by the on duty manager. Check in process was fast and efficient. Room was clean and well equipped. Would stay here again and recommend to others.

Good location. Easy access from I -75, convenience to Applebees, and to Soo locks, the Marine museum, shopping, etc.

Overall it was a great stay. Comfortable and pleasant. We had 5 people and the room had enough sleeping space for 5 people. Food and beverages were great and convenient on site and in the area. Convenient location to many tourist attractions. Cute courtyard area. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub but it was definitely being utilized by other guests and they all looked to be enjoying them. There was construction at the hotel so no access to the front door and no parking onsite when we came back late at night. There was an elevator that made it convenient to transport luggage but at the second floor there were no signs to show which direction to walk to get back to the lobby so I did end up choosing the wrong direction a couple of times. Would stay again for sure!

Pool is not very deep and gas s lot of shollow areas. Great for children. The hot tub is a very good size and very close to pool. The equipment in the gym is limited. Breakfast had a lot if options-including eggs and sausage.

Friendly staff. Hotel is older but clean. Bed was comfortable. Nice breakfast selection. Only negative was jets in the hot tub didn’t work.

The kids loved the pool. Breakfast was great. A great variety of choices. Great room. Everyone very friendly.

Tenant at desk was helpful. breakfast was ok, tenant was overwhelmed and couldn't keep up. Laundry area could use some help and needs a coin machine.
