DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Lafayette

The hotel bar closed early the evening we were there. They said they close early when nobody is there. The bar was full though. I chose this hotel for the bar option. Beds were small and uncomfortable as well.

Airport shuttle very slow, when only less than 3 miles away.

my only issue was at check-in and checking-out... not enough carts on premises for luggage to our room. I saw only two.

The staff Moe and property has a really nice pool area with a river view. There weren’t any clean towels both times we used the pool but when we called they sent someone right over. They also hand out delicious warm Chocolate chip cookies which were a hit!

We enjoyed it, the ice-makers on several floors were out, but overall -- good.

The staff was very nice. The pool area is nice. I just don’t like knocks from housekeeping at 9am asking what time we’re checking out because check out is at 12pm.

The outside of the hotel and the lobby looked great. Our room was on the first floor and felt a little old when first walking in. Room seemed clean, linens looked fine but once we got settled in it was clear that the room hadn’t had a deep clean in a very long time. There was soda or something spilled on the wall behind the bed, AC vents were very dirty , and the shower drain was extremely clogged. Over all our stay was fine, beds were comfy.

Unfortunately our stay was not so great as we had bugs in the room crawling on one of the beds and old blood stains on all of the pillow cases and sheets on the other. I asked for them to go check the room after the first night and encountered the same issues on the second night causing us to drive home which is five hours away.

No Trash bags in all trashcans bathtub would not drain . hair and dust all over floor in bathroom. bed was not fixed room was not clean

Hotel clean as always. Needed an extra mattress and got one. The customer service was excellent. Room was cleaned daily. Parking is plentiful. In a nice location close proximity to everything. Free cookies at check in is nice. Need cookies upon departure as well.

While the staff was extremely pleasant and the room immaculately cleaned, the hotel is showing its age and is due for some updates. Just to name a few, the bathtub and handles were showing signs of wear and tear as were the ceilings throughout the room. But overall it was a nice and clean hotel and we will return in the future.

The toilet had mildew stains on the side. The window had lil black ants crawling back & forth. The Shower didn’t look like they been really scrubbing the walls at all. The floors are not vacuumed good enough. The level of cleanliness is not that great. However, the bed sleeps GREAT as always. Also, everytime I stay here housekeeping come knocking on the door on check out day. If there is a DND sign on the door let me REST! Check out is at 12pm.

Check in was great, linen didnt feel clean. The linen was heavy instead of light also torn. The housekeeper knocked on my door before 9:00 am. I felt she was trying to get her day over with but inconvenience and disturb my additional rest.

Complained first nite about smell Of room and shower was told they deep cleaned the room and new shower curtain when I returned to the room that night, nothing was done called and complained. Still nothing done. they only brought up new towels did not address the smell or the shower

My experience would have been perfect if my room would have come with queen beds(as requested) and a microwave and refrigerator (both I am accustomed to having in a hotel room.

The AC did not seem to ever get colder.

We used the Hilton Honors app to check in and get our e-keys. This was a seamless process. We booked the King River View Corner Room on the 11th floor. Upon arriving in the room, the room smelled musty, the windows were dirty with oily fingerprints, the room was very dated with old furniture and fixtures. We asked for an upgrade. The front desk staff was very nice and accommodating and gave us cookies. We upgraded to the King Suite on the 15th floor with the in-room spa tub and walk in glass shower. The room was clean but still smelled musty. The furniture was old and cabinet doors didn't stay closed. Every sink faucet and the spa tub faucet had knob plugs missing. There was a hole in the wall next to the bedroom thermostat. For the price of the room, this definitely did not meet our expectations for a supposed 4-star Hilton Hotel. The spa tub worked well and was relaxing. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The shower was clean and roomy. The shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and bars of soap did not smell nice. Again, not 4-star quality. There is no room service for breakfast. The all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet was $14 per person. The food was cold and was nothing special. There were dry biscuits, overcooked dry scrambled eggs, cold home fries, oatmeal, grits, bacon, sausage, fruit, toast, cereal, and juice. This is the heart of Cajun country in Lafayette. The food should be spectacular! The coffee was the worst bitter swill I've ever tasted in LA.

Great and friendly service and very clean. However, the hotel is very outdated and needs a complete facelift on the rooms.

I ice machine was broken on level 8 and 9 so I had to go to the ice machine e on the 10th floor….and no mini fridge so we had to fill the ice bucket and put our waters in that to keep them cold. It was very inconvenient

The staff at the front desk were super friendly and overly courteous. Makes it hard to give anything less than 5 stars. However, the carpet in our room had a large red stain on it which was a little unnerving. And the beds were very small and uncomfortable. Most double rooms have queens now and these were small fulls. Mattresses and pillows were not comfortable. Also, no continental breakfast?? Deal breaker for me.

The outside, lobby and bar were the best things about the hotel. The actual rooms are small as well as the bathroom. Can barely open the door its so close to the toilet. Bed was like sleeping in the Grand Canyon, the dip in the middle. A.C. had hot air come out in spurts. I wouldn't stay here again

AC was malfunctioning in our room and several of our friends who also had rooms.

Not family or sports friendly. There is no refrigerator or microwave. There is no laundry area or room to wash

Loved my king room on 2nd floor overlooking the pool and the river. So picturesque, spacious and peaceful.

Front receptionist was excellent and so easy to deal with!

Arrived with a group of co-workers for a conference and I was the first person to book my room- We all arrived at the same time however when it was my turn to check in I was told that no more rooms were cleaned and I would have to wait until 4 pm to check in-Our meeting was scheduled in your conference room at 3pm...So I had to carry all of my stuff into the conference room with me. I was told I would receive a call when my room was ready-No Phone call-I finally was able to get my room given to me at 6pm.

Kiera was the absolute most wonderful helpful person I’ve ever dealt with in any hotel I’ve stayed at. She is Such a sweetheart and well deserves a raise! We need me Kiera’s in this world!

Everything was great except for check in. I called the front desk when we were driving in and asked if it was possible to check in early and without hesitation they said yes. When we arrived at 1:30pm, we were told our room wasn’t ready, but that we were the 1st on the list and they’d call when it was ready. I called at 3pm to see if the room was ready and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. That was my only complaint, otherwise the hotel, restaurant food and service were all excellent.

Property was great, gave us a key to an already occupied room which was scary, had to go back and get another room, then charged me twice for the room which one charge is pending and will fall off but still has money tied up! Not a problem for me but could be for others. You get used to issues when you travel alot but seems like the small things could have an easy fix like, hey that room is occupied!

When we arrived for check in. It was 4:00. That is check in time. The room was not ready. The lobby was full of people waiting for rooms. We were asked to wait. It was one hour later before we finally got our room. We had traveled all day and couldn’t get our room because they had only one lady cleaning the entire floor. Poor management there. In the middle of the night I wanted a drink of water…no bottled water I. The room. I walked down to the vending machines. It would not take cash. I would not take my card. I had to go to the lobby. There I met another incompetent employee who could not figure out how to do a card sale and give a receipt. That took 15 minutes by itself. Then the price I was charged was 4 dollars a bottle. That is thievery. After that , there was no rest. I also was charged a deposit!!! What the hell? I have spent tens of thousands of dollars in 48 states on hotels…I have NEVER been charged a deposit. I was extremely disappointed in my stay an I will never stay at any Hilton owned hotel ever again.

I liked everything about my stay except housekeeping asking me about checking out hours before check out time. Other than that we had an amazing stay!

We enjoyed out stay. Check in was smooth. The food in the restaurant was really good. The room was very large and clean. The only reason I did not give the Area 5 stars is because we felt the parking lot was a little dark. Maybe a little more lighting. We will definitely stay there next time in Lafayette.

The hotel was in a good location for us to visit family in the area. We had a nice view of the river. Spent about an hour on the patio area with the river view, which was nice.

Have attending a conference there annually for many years. The hotel is consistently immaculately clean and conference facilities are first rate. Little disappointed that the in-house restaurant was not available for lunch during the week.

It was a very good overall experience. Attended a comedy show in the hotel bar. When the show was over around 10:15 the bar was already closed on a Saturday night though. The room was really clean with comfortable beds. The shower had low water pressure but that seems to be common in hotels in my experience.

We have been staying at this hotel for years. It is definitely time for a remodel!! In our room the coffee pot didn’t work and the wall outlets by the coffee pot and in the bathroom did not work. The coffee pot was replaced immediately but we had to plug it in on the bedside table. The breakfast buffet is mediocre at best and the eggs are always dried out and hard. There is another hotel in Town that has a restaurant and bar. We will be staying there next time.

Very large parking lot. Active and good hotel bar in the lobby. Room and common areas were clean. Desk staff was very kind and helpful, plus you get a cookie at check in. Breakfast buffet was very good.

Not the staff’s issue, but the restaurant really was not good. Evidently, they had an issue with chefs, but it is the worst meal I have ever had staying at a hotel that is sponsored by Hilton!
