If you want to hang out along the waterfront and Thames Street in Newport, this is a good spot. Easy walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. The staff was wonderful. Parking is available, which is a big plus for this area, even off-season. Our room was a bit small, especially the bathroom, but because of the high ceilings, the room felt bright and airy. This building is a National Historic Landmark, so you won't find an elevator. If that's an issue be sure to request a ground floor.

The location could not be beat, and we loved our little balcony with a view. The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful. Their process for ordering breakfast and delivering to your room is simple and lovely. We were always able to manage finding a parking spot but they are TIGHT - the more compact your car the better.

Weekend trip to Newport, stayed at The Mill Street Inn. It was a nice stay, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff was super friendly. The only "downsides", would be that the bathrooms are small, and parking is super tight, small cars only, but, I would stay again for sure.

No elevator but they did offer to carry our luggage up the stairs. Parking under a 200 year old building was tight but certainly acceptable. Limited cold breakfast choices but delivered to our room on time everyday. We enjoyed the historical building character and the updates were bohemian in design. Close to all the charm of the area and walking distance to everything. We got our steps in. We would definitely recommend this place.

Wife and I had an excellent experience at The Mill Street Inn! It's a boutique hotel - very well maintained and charming. The staff were warm and welcoming, the rooms were large and clean and comfortable. The check-in was quick and the front desk team were happy to answer all our questions. Our bathroom as a little tight but the shower was a good size. Rooftop has nice views and you can take a glass of the complimentary sangria up there and relax. There is no restaurant or food options but the complimentary breakfast is special. You fill out your order the night before and they deliver it to your room at your preferred time. The coffee and yogurt parfait were excellent. The hotel is centrally located and we were able to walk to the restaurants (and pretty much everywhere else, but we like to hike and explore). Would highly recommend The Mill Street Inn - we will definitely stay here on our next visit to Newport.

Nice spot with very short walk to Bowen’s Wharf. Quiet street. Rooms and bed were comfortable and clean. Really like having a separate living area and bedroom. The lighting in the rooms could be better, especially the bathroom. The light breakfast and coffee is a nice addition to the stay. Parking is a little tricky but it all worked out just fine. The rooftop patio is a beautiful spot to enjoy a glass of wine with harbor views. Will definitely be back and recommend to others!

Mill Street Inn was such a sweet little hotel. The personal touches of breakfast and a welcome gift were so nice. The location was perfect for walking to Thames street for dinner and loads of shopping. The room was super clean and very spacious. The staff was also very helpful and kind. It is an older building so just remember the floors will creak and you’ll hear more sounds than usual…my sound machine came in handy. I’d highly recommend this hotel!

Stayed two nights on the first floor and loved the cleanliness and added touches the staff members provide (welcome gift bag, spa-style slippers!, flavored water, sangria, etc.). The breakfast was so good! We stayed at another inn in RI right before this stay and Mill Street Inn has the other beat. We easily walked to the Breakers, cliff walk, shops and restaurants in the harbor area. No issues with check-in or check-out, convenient parking. I would stay here again.

Nice property in a great location. Our stay was spolied by no heat on ground floor of the duplex, sliding door to patio was broken and worst thing was finding a stained, used, bathrobe in the wardrobe. Attention to detail is needed in this property.

Greeted by friendly staff, we had a 2 story suite loved that we could see the water from our balcony. Nespresso machine in room, breakfast was included, you chose night before and it was delivered to your room in morning. Had quite a few choices especially liked the yogurt parfait. Excellent location close enough to walk to restaurants and shops but far enough not to hear the crowds. Would recommend to anyone visiting Newport.

We had a poor experience right from the get go. We were at the door of the hotel with our heavy luggage, and saw a couple behind us with no luggage. We thought that they were returning to their rooms, and we let them enter first, opening and holding the door for them. They barely thanked us, and instead of going to their room, they went straight to the desk for check in. We had to wait a good 10 minutes, fuming and staring at them, but they skillfully avoided eye contact with us. We just could not believe how rude some people can be. The man at the desk was very friendly, but did not do anything to correct the situation. It was surreal. Apart from that, we liked the hotel and its location. Our room was spacious, and breakfast was good. We also liked the large Nespresso machine in the room, with plenty of pods to use. Noise was a little bit of a problem with upstairs guests (steps, flushing toilet etc..), and also very noisy garbage collection in the early morning

Great hotel! Our room was very spacious, modern, and comfortable which can be tough to find in historic Newport. Yummy breakfast delivered right to your room, too. The only issue was that the floors/walls seem very thin, so we could constantly hear people walking and flushing the toilet/showering above us. Despite this, we would definitely stay here again due to the location, parking, breakfast, and spacious layout.

Everything about our experience told us this hotel knows the meaning of the word “hospitality”. As a matter of fact, they excelled at it. On arrival we were warmly greeted in a cheerful lobby. Check in included a little bag of treats and delicious sangria. A welcome surprise was the complimentary breakfast you can order the night before and is delivered to your room at the time you request. The baked goods were fresh and everything was delicious. Excellent place to stay.. extremely clean and staff are extremely attentive and helpful. I must recognize Chelsea who went up and above to assist us. I highly recommend Mill Street Inn. We will definitely be returning to stay here on our next visit to Newport! Five stars all the way..

This is a charming boutique hotel on a quiet street, surrounded by colonial homes. It is just blocks away from the Wharfs and restaurants. The rooms are loft style and spacious. Really a great location from walking to historic sites to shopping. It is a 10 minute drive to the famous Mansion area.
